Priority Prayer Focus Nov 22, 2017

It is Thanksgiving week here in the United States, a holiday that was first celebrated in 1621 by the Pilgrims of the Mayflower after their first year of settlement.  My own family arrived in the New World in 1638. One year after arriving on this soil, the Pilgrims came together with members of the Wampanoag Indian tribe to give thanks to God for their survival in the new land. Although there are many who would like to wipe the memory of the origins and godly heritage of Thanksgiving from American history, it is true that our Thanksgiving holiday is not some vague sense of gratefulness, but truly a bowing of the knee to the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob — and us who are co-inheritors of the promises of God through Yeshua.

I want to thank God for His blessings on my own life, which I have been thinking lately of as just like Ecclesiastes 7:8,  "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning." And I am thankful to be living in the time when God is raising up the witness of the body of Messiah in Israel. I am so grateful to be able to play a small part in sharing their witness to the world. May you all be blessed and may this spirit of Thanksgiving grace your hearts.

Jerusalem may be about to expand - Here's why | Tzippe Barrow | The Ministerial Legislative Committee will vote Sunday on a bill to annex 19 "settlements" to the Jerusalem municipality. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports the measure, which if passed will be voted on by the Knesset before becoming law.

VIDEO: Brad Show interview with Howard Bass - "The current persecution of the Messianic Jews" | Brad TV | In 2005, an extremist Orthodox Jewish organization, Yad L’Achim planned and executed many attacks on Messianic communities. From the Ashdod Beit Hallel congregation headed by Israel Pochtar, preparations are underway for both Hanukkah and Christmas outreaches they are doing from gift boxes to food hampers that they will be blessing the many Russian-Israelis that live in their area of ministry.  As Pochtar writes, "New Jewish immigrants have very little in the way of material possessions and finances, and they come to Israel with the hopes of a better life for them and their children. It is our God-given commission and joy to reach out to them with food, clothing, bedding and appliances as they get settled and establish themselves in their new homeland. Ye'shi Reinhardt of Hands of Mercy in S'derot is back to work following his heart surgery, and offers us a quick view of the Aliyah Return Center in northern Israel receiving a truck load of clothing donated by the citizens of Sde'rot.  Watch the 30 second video of the team at the Aliyah Return Center thanking Hands of Mercy and the citizens of Sde'rot for this blessing.

From the Maoz Ministries in Tel Aviv (Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram), Katy Smith writes about the tensions in Israeli towns located near the border, as the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization has been openly threatening retaliation over the terror tunnel that the IDF destroyed on the Gaza border.  She also writes about the earthquake that originated in Iraq at its border with Iran that was felt all the way to Israel. Many casualties in Iraq and Iran brought an offer from Israel to help but the help was rejected. Here is an Urgent Global Prayer for Lebanon - Joni Koski explains why in the latest ministry letter from the Revive Israel team.  There is also a report from Henryk Wieja on a recent conference in Poland that he, Asher Intrater, Don Finto and artist Rick Wienecke ( Fountain of Tears sculpture) all shared in. Revive didn't include this, but I want to keep drawing attention to an extremely important new book by Asher intrater. If there ever was a single word for the decade to come that God is emphasizing to the body of Christ, I believe it is this word: ALIGNMENT.  Asher's significant insight into what it means is captured in this small book with big impact, Alignment. "Global Alignment is speeding up creating a new synergy for Israel and the Church in the end times. Everything is lining up to the ends of the earth and back again. . . . Alignment leads to revival; the manifest glory of God will rest on the city of Jerusalem and the people of God everywhere. The nations of the world will be lined up on one side or the other."

Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate and the Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv writes about a recent interview he conducted for GOD TV with Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister. Ron writes, "The largest tour company in Israel is owned by a Messianic Jew. I just got an email from a Messianic friend who is working inside one of Israel’s larger political parties." No wonder he is marveling over how "More and more Israeli believers are having an impact on all aspects of society." Including, two Messianic singers in recent years who have wowed secular judges in reality singing competitions. Eric Benson's House of Victory is devoted to taking in men whose lives have been destroyed by their addictions to disciple them and help them find freedom in the Messiah. Their ministry is a rough row to hoe, but they are seeing men whose lives are re-born and put back on track with the Lord's restoration. Howard and Randi Bass have been preparing for their annual Thanksgiving holiday at Nachalat Yeshua in Beer Sheva, now that the ANZAC celebrations and visitors are beginning to wind down.  They also share news of two sons, Tal, an IDF commander over a platoon of recruits in combat engineering, and Evan, who helped in translating for the 3-day Joshua Fund conference that Joel Rosenberg puts on for pastors in Israel. Howard also shares news of the appreciation breakfast for their 'golden agers' in the congregation, which are about 1/3 of the members. ..plus new active steps the congregation is taking with young adults and young marrieds. From the Carmel congregation a report by associate pastor Peter Tsukahira tells of the outreach they are doing with the Russian-speaking immigrants in the Carmel area. They provided a tour for about 50 of the immigrants to "re-connect them with the richness of their heritage and the God of Israel." There are a huge population of Russian Jewish immigrants in Israel and these godly heritage tours are proving to be an excellent way to reach this community.  Also, the Carmel congregation has started a supplemental program to the government sponsored "ulpan" which is an immersion into the Hebrew language to all new immigrants. Ulpan is an intense program, but as you can imagine, many people need more to help them become proficient in the language.  Aslo, Tsukahira writes about "Restoring God's Kingdom in Israel" and their study in the book of Nehemiah. Priority Prayer Focus

Israel continues to feel the threat on their borders from Iranian-backed proxies - and revenge attacks threatened by the Gaza-based Islamic Jihad after the IDF killed several terrorists in the terror tunnel explosion. 

To deal with the latter, Israel has placed their Iron Dome defense system in central Israel and has beefed up its security arrangements. For the northern borders, today Israel's Defense Minister Liberman commented after two-day tour of northern border, examining forces' preparedness: "The IDF is ready and well prepared for any scenario, we maintain complete freedom of operations....We will not allow Syria to become a frontline against the State of Israel."  

Keep Israel in your prayers.

Last week we started with the news that the Interior Ministry is trying to build a case against the Hyde family of Heart of God Ministries - and we re-up the prayer request this week. The MOI (Ministry of the Interior) is hostile against the followers of Yeshua on a good day, much less when it is headed by the ultra-Orthodox Shas party. The current head, Arye Deri is a special threat - so please pray for him for salvation but that also God will neutralize him as a threat to ALL the Jewish followers of Yeshua. The weekly report from Maoz Ministries writes about the Tel Aviv Tiferet Yeshua congregation: "God has been increasing His grace during worship, allowing us to enter into a deeper place of submersion in His presence." This is also drawing new seekers and producing new believers.  There is a great series of prayer points, not only for their congregation, but for all the Israeli congregations inside the Weekly Summary attachment

From Ashdod's Beit Hallel congregation, Israel Pochtar gives great praise reports as he updates their many outreach projects - from the Family Outreach Course (read a great testimony from a husband!) to their Restoring the Foundations course and Discipleship Outreach Seminar. Also, starting in 2 days, a Women's Conference that will be in conjunction with the Gateway Church in Southlake, TX. This is one of the beautiful ways churches can come alongside Israeli Messianic Ministries - truly pouring a vessel to vessel exchange. Read more on how you can pray for all these outreaches to a huge Russian-Jewish immigrant population in Israel.

Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate and Tiferet Yeshua congregation shares an article written by Moti Cohen, Tiferet associate pastor: The Witness of an old Friend.  Also there is a great message on healing that Ron preached: "Last month I shared this message at King of Kings in Jerusalem. You can do the miracles that Yeshua and His disciples did."

Sarah Singerman, one of the Revive Israel team, has a super report from "a strategic meeting with Christian leaders from all over the Middle East" that she, Ariel and Asher Intrater participated in last week in Egypt. There are still openings for the 8-week Discipleship Journey in Israel that is conducted by Chaim Singerman (Dec 8-Jan 31) which is highly recommended by Revive Israel and features teachers such as Asher Intrater and Dan Juster, and others. Finally from Revive, a video teaching by Dan Juster on the ultimate purpose of 5-fold ministry, The Goal of Five Fold Ministry and an article by Asher on Praying for Government Leaders. "Imagine how you could change the whole word by even such a small investment of fifteen minutes of daily, concentrated, faith-filled prayer for key people in government, business, religion, and media!"

Shlomy and Miriam Abramov of Awake Israel Ministries were honored in their community with a plaque for their humanitarian aid service to the schools and community. It is a big deal when municipalities in Israel acknowledge the contributions of Messianic-faith Israeli ministries. One big prayer request is also located in the Healing section - that is that Shlomy has a slipped disk which makes it very painful to walk. Please pray for him.

Eddie and Jackie Santoro are wrapped up with their US tour and headed back home to Jerusalem and the Ahavat Yeshua congregation. Much of Eddie's testimony in the US was regarding his healing and, "One of the powerful tools that I believe encouraged my victory over death and the grave has been the Word of God. To this day I invest a lot of time every morning just listening to God's Word." He shares a source: Healing Verses set to soothing music for soaking in God's Word. "We thank you deeply for your love and support. May the blessings of God overflow in all of our lives."

Martin Sarvis sends a super picture that he and Norma caught one day of "coruscating" clouds over Jerusalem last week. The cloud formation was like an array of flashes, like rays of light coming up from the horizon and radiating outward (see picture inside the Weekly Summary attachment).

Martin writes about how "Zion is mentioned over 60 times in the Bible: 40 times in the Psalms, 47 in Isaiah, 17 in Jeremiah, 30 in the Minor Prophets.  Almost all of these passages deal in some way with Jerusalem or some part of Jerusalem, God’s love and plans for her and those dwelling there; or, the love of His children for Zion to which God is returning to reign! The meaning of the word Zion (Hebrew: tzi’on) is not certain—it may be related to another word tzi’un which is spelled the same way, and which means a “marker” or a “sign” (Jeremiah 31:21; Ezekiek 39:15).  Certainly, God’s dealings with Zion/Jerusalem are often used as a sign to the nations!"  Read more including his prayer points on this sign to the nations inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Martin also gives a great background on the Kurds, why we should be praying for them and what he makes of earthquake on the borders of Iraqi Kurdistan. For example: " An oft-persecuted race, they are the largest people group not to have held, for over 2000 years, personal sovereignty over the lands in which they have lived. And they are the one large people-group in this part of the world who have a long history of friendliness towards the Jews."  Please read & put them in your hearts.

Update from Yeshi Reinhardt: Special-Blessings from the 'Land of the Living'!  Thank You for your prayers and notes of encouragement while overcoming my recent heart surgery. Your expressions of love and spiritual support remain deeply appreciated!     Released from the hospital after four days, I was delighted at the initial success of the surgery, soon to return for nearly three weeks of severe pain caused by infection and inflammation throughout my lungs. But ''Thanks to G-D'' and your prayers, I now have returned home, to work, with deep gratitude for this gift of a 'new heart' He has given me! So ''Thank-You'' again for your spiritual support while sharing this special miracle in my life!

A Historic Time When the Ancient Call is Being Restored to Jerusalem

I have to say that for some time I have really feared for many prophets I see going to Israel. I'm glad to see them loving on Israel, but I do have fear for them obviously thinking that they can minister in Israel exactly like they can in their own nation or even other nations. Because of the season we are in and the lack to true understanding of the significance of the body of believers in Yeshua that God is raising up in Israel, that it is dangerous for prophets - even true prophets - to prophesy in Israel out of order.

Think of this in terms of Uzzah being struck dead when he reached out and touched the ark that was being moved back to Jerusalem in 2 Sam 6.  In a very real sense, the raising of the body of Messiah in Israel - including all of the 5-fold ministries of apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher and evangelist - is very much like the ark being returned to Jerusalem and there is a proper order to it. Now Uzzah reached out to steady the ark - he was trying to do good - but he was out of order, which is why God struck him dead. There was only supposed to be Levites touching the Ark.

The interesting thing about the Levites is that among the tribes of the children of Israel, the tribe of Levi had no land inheritance because the LORD was their inheritance. Having seen how the ministries of Israel are so under-funded compared to the ministries in America and other places, I do make an association to Israeli Messianic ministries being comparable to the "Levites" in the 2 Samuel 6 story, and the international prophets being like Uzzah - meaning well, but not understanding the proper order that God has initiated. Today in Israel as He is raising up the body of Messiah as a witness, not only in Israel to Israelis but as a witness to the nations, there is a proper order much like the order that was in effect as the Ark was being returned to Jerusalem after captivity/exile in Gaza.

It is imperative in my view that the international prophets preserve the integrity of the witness that God has placed in the Israeli prophets in their own nation. How? By respecting the order of accountability to the local Israeli leadership.

Proverbs 27:18 is a promise from God to Christians today - If you take care of the "fig tree" which is a symbol in the timing of Israel's salvation according to Jesus in Matthew 24, their fruit is for you. "As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near." Those Christians who recognize this timing and take care of the fig tree are promised to eat of the fruit of the fig tree. To me, the meaning of that is clear, the fruit of what God has invested into "the people of Israel" which the apostle Paul summarizes in Romans 4-5.

It may be that the #1 problem in the Church today is the spiritual blind spot that so many are left in because they do not see the significance of the body of Messiah in Israel. When we tend, or take care of, the fig tree in Messiah Yeshua in Israel - then our spiritual understanding is like a laser sight, locked in on what God is doing in our days. Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit is a promise of spiritual deiscernment beyond what is available to those who just "don't get it" about Israel ... even more to the point, about the significance of the Israeli body of Messiah that God is raising up. - Donna Diorio

We begin this week with the somber note that urgent prayers are needed for the issue of citizenship of Messianic Jews in Israel. Specifically, we have received notice that the entire Hyde family is at risk as mother and grandmother, Carolyn Hyde is being targeted by the Interior Ministry. Last week we noted that  Suspicions against interior minister piling up — report . Arye Deri the religious head of the Interior Ministry and when the religious rule the Interior Ministry, then the Messianic Jews are targeted even more than normal under an Israeli Interior bureaucracy that is systemically unjust toward believers in Yeshua. Please pray for the Hyde family, their legal representation and for the Ministry of the Interior. Deri has already been to prison once for his corruption and fraud. Please pray for justice to prevail - and for the salvation of those who target the faith of the followers of Israel's Messiah.

Leon Mazin who leads the Haifa Return to Zion Center has a great newsy report in this month's Israel's Restoration Newsletter, which represents the Tikkun network of ministries in Israel.  Leon covered a lot of ground in their activities and outreaches at RTZ-Haifa, but I was struck with this statement, "We have always been a bit conservative, but recently, during congregational prayers, we heard many prophecies and a lot of expressed desires 'to start doing what the Lord shows us to do.' Therefore, I ask for your support in prayer!! "

Mazin was referring to the Prophetic Studio they opened this year, "a workshop - a place where we try, where we compare, where we learn. It is a place where one is not afraid to try to hear the Voice of the Lord! I'm even a little scared to write about this, but we see that it has begun to function! And it has become a 'revolving door' where many can enter, feel God's touch, and as one brother from China prophetically said, "ascend the mountain of the Lord" and go further, renewed in the Word heard from the Creator. . . . We are asking for your intercession and are grateful for your ongoing support. So many of our projects are functioning successfully and achieving their goals because of your generosity!" Maoz Ministries, Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram, speak about the IDF destroying a terror tunnel on the Gaza border. Did you hear about it in the news? It is easy for important news like this to get lost in the overwhelming amount of important news out there, but this tunnel-detecting  technology is truly groundbreaking. It can detect tunnels as deep as 190 feet! (This could be a powerful tool for the US southern border too!). Maoz also suffered a Ransom-ware attack, where hackers seize all of your files, locking you out and holding your computer files for ransom. This is an international plague which has hit individuals, hospitals, police departments and corporations.  So far we have seen it used criminally for money, but imagine what damage can be done using this technology to cripple a nation in war. From the Kerem-el, or God's Vineyard congregation in the Carmel area, the monthly report from their pastors - Daniel Sayag, Yonatan Arnold and Stefan Silver, is all about the recent events their congregation has participated in, including a special trip for their Youth Group, the annual multi-congregational get-together with Arab Chrisians and Messianic Jews in northern Israel, Sukkot, and much more. including prayer requests for the kehila (congregation). Just one excerpt about the Arab-Jewish annual get-together:  "Like every year for the past 30 years, all the congregations of the north gathered together at the Lavie forest in the Galilee to pray, worship, and fellowship as one body in Messiah. This day conference is extremely important to us, as Jewish and Arab Congregations come together and unite as one before God and it is amazing to see how every year the number of congregations and people rise! We certainly see God moving in the north as we continue to pray for the outpouring of God's Spirit in our area and in our land!"

Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate writes about the 100th birthday of the Balfour Declaration inside the Weekly Summary attachment and also on video:  "I share a short teaching on GOD TV’s Facebook page about the Balfour Declaration."

Orna Grinman of Ot Oo’Mofet, or A Sign & An Example, has a new blog post about a Holocaust survivor called, She said “Yes”. “I have no feet, I cannot walk. I hardly hear or see, but I am healthy,” declares Rivka Weiss, who spends most of her days in her living room armchair. “And I have good genes, the kind of genes that survived Auschwitz.”

We also have an update from the Lebanese Christian Pastor Najeeb Atteih in Haifa. While on this subject, I would also like to direct you to the special testimony sent to us by Anthony Simon's family in Jerusalem, Voice in the Wilderness. Again, I do not want to share the details because this is speaking to their outreaches into the Arabic Middle East.  You may know that Anthony Simon was killed this year in a pedestrian-vehicle collusion in Erbil. His family is endeavoring to carry on with his work and the report is from a South African brother that is continuing on with them in the ministry of his friend, Anthony Simon.  We are often not able to share with you what is going on in these ministries due to the dangers of evangelizing in Muslim nations. From Revive Israel Asher Intrater shares the coming alignment in the end times between Israel and the church in the video End Time Alignment. (Subtitles in many languages). BOOK ORDER.  Also, Daniel Juster shares on the responsibility of the Messianic Jews and the church to embrace one another in unity, Jews & The Church in Unity.  I heard a version of this last week in Dallas at the Eitz Chaim Messianic congregation as Dan has returned to the US. This was really powerful and connected some dots that I found truly exciting.

"I will not die but live and will proclaim what the Lord has done."  This was Eddie Santoro's confession over himself the past two years as he stood in faith against cancer, and I am sure this is message he had for the "friends and congregations that have stood with us and strengthened us over the past several years as we fought our battle" as he and wife Jackie are just wrapping a speaking tour in the US."  Pray for the Santoros as they continue to the Western US and begin their return to Jerusalem on Nov 15th. I know their family at Ahavat (Love) of Yeshua congregation will be glad for their return.

So much afoot in Beer Sheva for the Yeshua's Inheritance (Nachalat Yeshua) congregation led by Howard and Randi Bass. They take a key part every year in commemorating the anniversary of the ANZAC Beer Sheva Charge and victory - but this year was the 100th Anniversary!  Howard writes, "The city has never had a day like this before!  The PM of Australia and of Israel were present; the Governor-General of New Zealand was there (the NZ gov't has just had a change of PM).  Security was at an all-time employment; the municipality put out a tremendous effort to put on a spectacular day that has received very high remarks from the Aussies (especially) and Kiwis that we have spoken with.  Also the new ANZAC Museum was dedicated, and, thankfully, the ones I know who have been praying and acting for years for it are very pleased!" Also Howard shares these: Brad TV (from Korea) has put out an English subtitled trailer for a movie he is producing about Martin Luther.  He also has posted an interview with me (with Eng sub-titles) on the current state of 'persecution' against the Messianic believers here in Israel.  And, I have posted a reflection about some fake news, since that has become a buzz-word in the U.S. and Israeli culture.
