Avi Mizrachi blessing the Papua Island believers during the Sukkot, Feast of Tabernacles holiday season

Priority Prayer Focus

In case you didn't know, the last of the Fall High Holy Days, Sukkot or the Feast of Tabernacles has just begun and will last through September 30th at sundown. At this time of year Israel is flooded with visitors, both Jewish and Christian. It is one of the busiest times of year for all the Israeli ministries as guests from the nation come to attend many major Christian events held during the Feast of Tabernacles.

In recent years, however, there has begun a shift in focus with many Christians coming to participate in the Feast of the Lord and to connect with the Israeli Messianic Jewish community, as is seen here in photo with Tel Aviv pastor, Avi Mizrachi praying with and blessing the believers from the Island of Papua in the VIP prayer room of the Adonai Roi congregation.

Two points I'd like to draw your attention to and the first is that the "First Nations" Christians, that is, the Christians who are indigenous peoples in their own nations, have for many years had a deep recognition of the importance of coming to meet with the Israeli believing community when they come to Israel. They recognize that there is a protocol to honor the believer-citizens of the nation as they come into the Israeli believers home-nation. It is a gift that these believers from the First Nations are bringing to the Israeli believer community — a gift of honoring those whose home it is they are visiting.

As the Chinese Christians come to Israel, they are also seeking out the Israeli Messianic believers and come with a gift from their Christian heritage. It is the gift of truly seeing the body of Messiah as a family. As the Church in China began to grow they viewed themselves a a spiritual family and grouped themselves into five families with five family heads until there were over 90 million Chinese in those five families. This is the gift they come to Israel with, seeking their Israeli family — the fellow followers of the LORD Yeshua.

God bless the nations who come up to celebrate the Feasts of the Lord, who do not overlook the blessing of making significant contact with the Messianic believing community of Israel. We have a high expectation of good issuing from these connections made with brotherly love and honoring each other.

As a prayer priority, since the High Holy Days are a prophetic season, appointed by God to be an illuminating picture of Israel's salvation, let us pray that those Jews who are looking for the Messiah and even those who aren't, would have the veil removed to see their Messiah has come.

Please pray also for the Mizrachi family, as Avi is mourning the loss of his father.
Chaya writes, "Our beloved Saba Nissim Mizrachi passed away on the eve of Succot. He was a survivor of the holocaust, a strong Zionist, and fought in all of Israel's wars from the War of Independence to the Yom Kippur war. We love him and will miss him greatly. But, we know he is with Yeshua in heaven. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 14:30 PM in Zichron Yaakov cemetery. Since it is the Hag of Succot the Rabbi told us we will not be sitting Shiva. But we will be receiving people in Kefar Saba on Tuesday only. May his memory be for a blessing for all.

Feast of Tabernacles  in the 70th year of the restoration of the state of Israel! doesn't get much more of a prophetic season than that!  Israel is overflowing with international visitors right now both Jewish and Gentile. Let us continue to pray for the revelation of the Messiah to Israelis and the increased anointing on the body of Messiah living and ministering in Israel.

Read the latest by Avner Boskey Israel's restoration triggers international worship of an eschatological connection between two events – Israel’s restoration/revival (on the one hand) and a huge manifestation of praise and worship by all the nations (on the other).

Israel Pochtar of the Beit Hallel congregation also turns to a prophetic focus with his explanation of Sukkot: A Prophetic Celebration. Sukkot is not just about what happened way back when, it is about what is beginning to unfold even now. You can read it more fully in the Weekly Summary if you are subscribed, or by directly subscribing to Pochtar's excellent mailing list.

The Maoz ministry of Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram (9/12) make an astute point from Israeli radio: "... it is as if President Trump is peeling off—like an onion—layer after layer of lies which form the Palestinian narrative." Yes and amen! Still, on Twitter Israeli newspapers continue to denigrate Trump. Pray for the Israeli news media who are just as Liberal Left as their counterparts in the US media (and the majority of the American Jewish community). Mostly Israelis see Trump as a great friend to Israel - but there is powerful peer pressure among all media.

Maoz asks prayers: "For the lies of the Palestinian Narrative to be exposed.  Lies about the origin of Palestinians, their claim to Jerusalem, and the refugee situation.  Pray the world will see the truth, and act on what they discover.  Pray for a blessing on the United States as the Administration takes steps that fall in line with Biblical truth. For the salvation of Arab People in the entire Middle East. Pray for the Lord to bring them a great revival. For Israel's Salvation. As Israel is in the midst of Fall Feasts, please continue to pray for the Lord to open the blind eyes and deaf ears, and shine the revelation and light of Yeshua the Messiah to our people."

37 years in Israel, Howard & Randi Bass are celebrating Sukkot in the 70th year of the state of Israel & rejoicing in the anniversaries - also more baptisms at the Beer Sheva congregation. Howard writes, "There is great pressure in Israel -- among the Jews and the Arabs -- NOT to go on to become a disciple of Jesus because of the threats and costliness from the society and religious strongholds. In our congregation, we tend not to have group baptisms...because we follow what seems to be the New Testament examples of people coming to faith, and being baptized very shortly after.  Then they are instructed and trained up as believers and followers of The Way. Always a joy to hear from Eddie Santoro, who is in the midst of biweekly treatments following his second brain surgery against cancer. He and Jackie are celebrating the holidays and resuming their "Third Season" fellowship meetings in their home since the discovery of the latest cancer outbreak. They ask prayers: "Please pray for strength and health for me especially as I will be having my regular biweekly treatment on the 26th. Pray that there will not be any negative side effects and I will have energy for this gathering I have eagerly waited for! Finally, in celebration of the last and final day of the Feast, our congregation Ahavat Yeshua along with several other Messianic congregations will be having a joint service in which we welcome all those from the nations to rejoice with us in worshiping the God of Israel. For this one day, we will have our service in English as well as Hebrew. We want to honor our dear family from the nations who come here to express their love for our people and this nation and who support the Israeli Messianic Body in every way!"

Notice of the Intercessors for Israel prayer conf in Jslm Jan 21-28, & post conf Prayer Tour 1/28-2/2, 2019. They write:  "The situation in Syria has become ever more complicate. Our burden is to return to the Golan Heights for our tour again this year to continue our prayers for Israel’s protection.  We need to remember that this is not a "pilgrimage tour," it is not a "getting to know the Land and going to new places tour," (as much as I love to do that kind of touring) it is a prayer tour."

Our Thorns, His Glory | by Orna Grinman | I sometimes take it for granted - the fact that God wants to dwell in me. But when I stop to think about it, I am in awe. How can that be? Church of Nicea Discovered ...Underwater
"After years of hunting archaeologists have found sunken ruins that could be where the First Council of Nicaea was held – making it one of the most important places in Christian history"

My Word:  Recently I talked about how when I hear of ancient archaeological finds, I wonder about the timing of the find which I believe is in God's hands to conceal and to reveal. I wonder about the message that God is sending with the timing of such discoveries.

That is the same way I feel about this new discovery of the church that may have been where the first Council at Nicea in 325 AD was held. I think it is significant that the discovery is underwater, as I believe the Catholic church is significantly 'underwater' due to the policies from its head, the pope.

The Council of Nicea is where the church officially cut its ties to the Israeli believers, something I have been writing about since about 1992 after discovering it in a book by a Catholic historian high in the favor of the Vatican and given great access to private Vatican archives.

And here it is now, the discovery of this church meeting place where it was decided to officially cut off the descendants of Jesus' family members who were still leading the believing community in Israel in 325 AD. Their representatives paid a visit to the pope with the hopes of restoring the contributions of the churches to the extremely poor and suppressed believing community in Israel. The answer they received was NO, and then the counsel of Nicea further cut the ties with the Israeli believing community.

It is also interesting that the headline news of this find is coming at the beginning of Sukkot in the 70th year of Israel's re-birth as a modern state. Yes, there is a timeliness in all this that speaks of a message from God. Let them with eyes and ears to hear, see and hear.

* The historical account I read was by Catholic priest and author Malachi Martin, who used to be the go-to Catholic in the US for all the news programs. The book I read was titled, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Church, a 1981 non-fiction book.
