Starting off this week with praiseworthy news of a miracle of healing that God has performed for Israeli evangelist, Jacob Damkani. You can read the testimony inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries to see how facing the impossible, Damkani chose to trust the God of the impossible for healing, and God answered him by performing the impossible.  A wonderful and encouraging report inside, plus a link to a short video of Jacob thanking everyone for praying.

Pastor Najeeb and Elisabeth Atteih, the Lebanese pastor in Haifa of Immanuel Church and Bookshop, relate their after Christmas journey to Jordan to minister to the refugees there.  Not going into those details here, but you can read inside the Weekly Summary attachment. From their bookshop in Haifa, they also get to minister to a wide variety of people - not just local Christians but unsaved Jews, Arabs and internationals.  

You might remember that the Atteih's also have a ministry to the Arab Christian soldiers serving in the Israeli Defense Forces. This brought them an invitation along with 120 of those Arab soldiers to a party during Christmas where Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman honored them with a toast.  "He said he was very honored to have a Christian minister and his son who is serving in the Israeli Army with so many other Arab Christian soldiers, and that even if we were Arabs, Jews or any other people, we were all serving the State of Israel, Each soldier was given a Ministry of Defense cup full of chocolate! It was a great day for the soldiers." 

Israel Pochtar shares about the "amazing mission team visiting us from Church of the Highlands in Alabama. It was such a blessing to see the joy with which they were willing to serve and minister." What an encouraging thing it is to see Christians visiting the Holy Land not just to see the wonderful Biblical sites, but to actually take part in what Yeshua is doing TODAY in Israel through His Israeli disciples.  As Pochtar writes, "We encourage more churches to organize such tours to visit us and get to touch Israel's living stones." Kobi and Shani Ferguson of Yeshua Israel talk about how 2017 has taken off with incredible events at incredible speed., noting that the news is somewhat disturbing even to those distant from Israel. They write, "If this makes you nervous, don’t be. Historically, the bigger the attack against the people of God, the more impressively God steps in to shut down the enemy. Our job is simply to stick close to Him and call others to do the same."  You can read their report inside the Weekly Summary attachment where they also write, "Our mission is not just to see people accept the mercy of God for a day, but to train them to walk in His mercies daily - for the rest of their life. When you support Yeshua Israel, you are supporting the spiritual health of the Body of Messiah in Israel."  

David Davis of the HaCarmel Congregation in Haifa writes the ministry letter this month with news about their evangelistic prayer teams who have been out on the highways and byways praying for people for healings that are bringing people to salvation.  Really powerful!  David, himself is continuing to fight the battle of cancer, so please pray for his continued healing and return to health.

David, in writing about the UN attempt to force Israel to change her borders, writes, "Recently I was reminded of the event that happened concerning the borders of property on top of Mount Carmel. In 1995 we had been given a plot of land by the previous owners for the purpose of building a congregational worship center there. We hired an excellent Messianic Jewish architect and an outstanding Arab Christian engineer. After submitting our architectural plans for the building, we were notified by the municipality that our plans were too close to the border of the property. We were required to move the position of the building 5 meters away from the property line (a real headache for the architect!), but we did it. It turned out to be a blessing from the Lord! When we moved the plans away from the border it positioned the building 5 meters higher on the mountain, actually the highest point on Mt Carmel. By moving up the mountain, we suddenly gained a new large space underneath the sanctuary of the building which ultimately became our Elijah Prayer Cave. Thousands of people have met the Lord in prayer in that cave. We were learning the importance of operating within God’s borders."  Whatever the nations try to do to Israel, it is God who will have the last word.

Sally Shiff is an intercessor and the liaison to the Hamaayan congregation in Kfar Saba. She writes,  "God reminded me today that my role here is to pray for the nation of Israel, the lost sheep of Israel. To not rest on the laurels of last year, but to press on to the call of God and His desire for 2017.  Once again, as He did last year, He has called me to a fast for 40 days culminating to our Purim Holiday.  Purim as you recall is the Book of Esther. Where she, as the Queen of Persia, fasted and prayed for the sake of our nation, the Jewish people. Persia (present day Iran) had a 2nd in command behind the king (Haman) designate a day where all the Jews would be killed.  Instead, through the prayers and fasting of Esther and the rest of the Jewish nation, were spared."  You can read her personal ministry letter inside the Weekly Summary attachment.   

From the Maoz Ministries of Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram, they are also writing about the incredible changes taking place in the leadership of many countries, including the US change of guard to Donald Trump. They write, "As President Donald Trump was officially be inaugurated, many Israelis are hopeful to finally see the U.S. embassy move to Israel's capital, Jerusalem. This promise was given to Israel as part of President Trump's election campaign, as well as multiple times in recent weeks after his election. Jerusalem has been and forever will remain Israel's capital.  It is the city God Himself has chosen as His dwelling place among His people.  The refusal of politicians to recognize this fact makes no difference to Him.  However, in today's world dominated by darkness, this move will be a bold stand for what is right and just."  Get their prayer points on this and for the ministry inside the Weekly Summary attachment

From Asher Intrater's Revive Israel, a short word of encouragement from Don Finto on Revelation 1:5 and Daniel 4:25, 32 - how "Jesus is 'the ruler of the kings of the earth" and "the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone He wishes". Also, there is a video teaching by Daniel Juster called, Yeshua and the Kingdom. "What did Yeshua mean when said that the kingdom of God is at hand and what was he saying about the kingdom?"

Dr. Daniel Juster teaching on  I Do Not Need to Be in a Congregation | "This statement is a representation of not only many young people today, but of even some older people who are in their senior years of disillusionment with congregational life as they experienced it. Yet, it is so very different than what would have been stated decades ago both by Jews and Christians. At that time the idea of being a part of a congregation was not based on a person’s perception of what he or she needed, but rather on what God required. God was understood as the great King who was to be feared. Yes, He is loving, but flouting his will was considered very dangerous. So the idea was common, that if one was to walk in the blessing and protection of God, we had better find out what his will is and conform our lives to that will. Since last week's issue many Israeli prayer ministries put out prayer appeals for the international Paris Mideast Summit that was held last Sunday, January 15. Israel was quite distressed over what these nations were gathered to do, and with good reason. However, the Summit ended up falling on face relatively speaking.  Inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries are post-summit summaries from myself, Martin Sarvis and Shira Sorko-Ram. I urge you to read these summaries - it is not enough to know the summit failed because this is only one of many more attempts in the future that we will face down in the Spirit. These are not just political moves, this is spiritual to the highest order.

Also from the Sorko-Ram's Maoz Ministries, Katy Smith writes, "The second week of the year practically yanked each one of us here in Israel "back to reality." The heinous terror attack in which four IDF soldiers in their early 20's were murdered just for being Jewish, is a reminder that while we are busy making plans for the new year, our days are short on this earth, and we never know if we will have a tomorrow." She shares some prayer points on that, and also about the travels of Ari (including the Feb US National Prayer Breakfast) and Shira's writing for the next Maoz Israel Report. Ron Cantor explains another aspect of the Paris meeting, "the 'Kings of the Earth' (Ps. 2) have taken their stand against God’s holy mountain, Jerusalem." He details how the "Two-State Solution is a Three-State Problem".

The Arad Hebrew congregation, Hasdey Yeshua, is still struggling with temporary solutions to their on-going dilemma of no place to meet! In warmer weather this is less a problem and they meet in the great outdoors, but with winter extremely cold this year they have had to get inventive to deal with their needs for space. You can find out more inside the Weekly Summary.  They also share a couple of excellent posts with regards to the ultra-Orthodox in their area. Since it is sensitive information, I will refer you to read inside the Weekly Summary.

They did share some interesting information which I did not know about the anti-missionary groups: | "Usually the Hassidei Gur (the predominant ultra-orthodox group in Arad) and the anti-missionary group, Yad L’Achim, don’t like each other very much, but they’re happy to team up to fight against us, the “dangerous missionaries,” with demonstrations and, more subtly, with publications. Yad L’Achim publishes a slick magazine which they send to almost every Messianic Jewish household in Israel. How they got the names, addresses and sometimes even phone numbers is questionable and most likely illegal. One would think that the goal of these groups is to bring “wandering” Jews back to normative Judaism...but one would be wrong with that assumption. Also this poster - and there are literally thousands of posters and billboards across Israel for this deceased rabbi - translated says: “Behold this is our god, this is our god for whom we have waited, the Rabbi from Lubovitch...messiah”

From the Revive Israel Ministries is a short recap article by Asher Intrater on their recent ministry trip in Brazil with Christian Arabs Malek and Suzanne. Read it inside the Weekly Summary. Here is also a short video Asher did for Facebook on the Brazil trip.  Also from Revive's Cody Archer: 4 Keys for Resisting Sexual Sin  Cody writes, "God spoke through a prophet years ago saying, 'To a people without mixture, I will give My Spirit without measure!' I believe Joseph’s pursuit of purity is a prophetic example calling our generation to remove sexual compromise at all cost and become the pure spotless bride that Jesus will come for."

Here is an excellent teaching video from Daniel Juster sent by the Revive Israel team called The last revival.  Daniel Juster has profound understanding of Church History and this article is a superb example of that!] In this teaching Dan Juster shares on the last revival in Israel and the nations and answers the question: "Will only a few people be saved or many?"

On the first day of Hanukah (and Christmas this year) the use permit for the Morning Star Fellowship at long last was awarded! Mazal tov to Claude and Michelle Ezagouri in Tiberias who are living proof that "faith and patience inherit the promises".   The next hurdle is revealed inside the Weekly Summary- we do not want to give any opening for opposition, but do want to ask subscribers to pray over the issue.

Here is another wrinkle in the mix in Tiberias which we are asking our subscribers to intercede about:  A new neighborhood is being built in the city to host 1500 ultra-orthodox families. This is raising some discontent among the secular population in Tiberias because this religious group is extremist and very militant. It is the same kind of Orthodox zealots who led persecution against the Messianic fellowship in Arad. Please pray for the Lord's perfect will in this matter.

Claude also writes about the charges of corruption that has Prime Minister Netanyahu the target of investigations, as well as the recent ruling of "Guilty" for a young IDF soldier who shot a wounded terrorist on the ground.  He writes, "The final verdict [many Israelis believe he should be pardoned] should come soon but this matter widened the already big gap between the left and right wing in our country. It is not just a political controversy but also a social split with deeper cultural and behavioral roots. May God unite our people before Him and before our enemies in these critical times."

Eddie Santoro of the Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem writes of their thanks for all your prayers and support of the past year. "2017 promises to be an extraordinary year of darkness covering the earth and light filled Kingdom advances."  Eddie writes that the congregation has grown with a significant portion of over 50's among them, so they have launched a special ministry to this "Third Season" group.  They have also had a big influx of new families with children and newly married's arriving.  They are asking prayers for both groups as the congregation continues to thrive.

Other items covered in the Santoro prayer letter are evangelism, and also the terrorism Israel faces. They are planning a short trip to the US mid-February...more details to follow.

UN Human Rights Council creating blacklist of Israeli companies in the West Bank | Amir Tsarfati | The United Nations Human Rights Council is reportedly compiling a list of Israeli enterprises from within the West Bank with efforts to blacklist such companies in the near future. List could be made public as early as March.

Praying the Headlines

President Elect Trump will appoint his son-in-law Jared Kushner to broker Mideast peace.  Many are making fun of this but Dennis Ross, a senior Middle East diplomat and veteran of the George H. W. Bush, Clinton and Obama administrations, told The Jerusalem Post of Jared Kushner: 
                "He clearly is someone who has a sense of Jewish identity, and he is someone who has a genuine attachment to Israel and understanding of the importance of the US-Israel relationship. People I know who know him describe him as smart, as someone who will clearly learn what he needs to learn and will approach things thoughtfully, carefully, even analytically. So those would all be descriptors that I would hope would be accurate and emblematic of how he'll approach his responsibilities helping the new president."

Spokesman for Palestinian President Abbas says that if Trump moves the US embassy to Jerusalem it will "open gates of hell"  Like Trump, I don't take kindly to threats, but I have no doubt that this move would fuel fanaticism resulting in increased terrorism against Israelis... I am not sure the symbolism is worth the lives that would be lost.

    UNSC Res. 2334 is an act of political aggression against foundation of the Judeo-Christian civilization and should be treated as such. The Jewish nation has every right to consider this attack as an act of war against it.

    President Obama sometimes seems to have an indifference to historical truth that often borders on antagonism. Obama has again tried to re-write history by claiming that Greece, with the help of the winners of World War I, was an aggressive and imperialistic state that cared only to re-build its Empire against the Turks.

    The notion that ancient non-Muslim nations are occupiers in their own lands, is repeated in the UN Resolution 2334.

From Revive Israel an report on the Katzir Youth Camp that was held over the Hanukkah holidays, news that the Blumenthal's are returning to Israel after two years ministry in China, two videos, one by Dan Juster on The Universal Law and from Jakob Lundvall 3 Keys to Overcoming Public Speaking Stage-fright. Also, Asher intrater's article asking the question, "Is Israel occupying someone else's land, or is someone else occupying Israel's land?" Avi and Chaya Mizrachi send thanks for prayer about their outreach in Nazareth. They are also asking for prayers for Chaya and Devora in New Zealand to minister at various women's events.  Plus this:  "We are so grateful to have just around 1.5 million USD in the bank.  However, it continues to be difficult to find someone who is willing to sell property in Tel Aviv. We really need a breakthrough in this area and truly covet your prayers! "

These things must take place before the end will come. We need to take care to not fall into the ditch of seeing the enemy as running freely about, wreaking havoc. At some point our thinking needs to shift from the thought that the enemy is doing this and that to God is. From Barry and Batya Segal's Jerusalem News Network, Christians the Most Persecuted Group in the World for Second Year.  "90,000 Christians were killed for their beliefs worldwide last year and nearly a third were at the hands of Islamic extremists like ISIS. Others were killed by state and non-state persecution, including in places like North Korea. Israel Pochtar sends thanks for the prayer and support for their Christmas and Hanukkah humanitarian projects. "We had the privilege to help more than 300 families over the course of the projects. Electric heaters and blankets were distributed to prepare those in need for the cold winter months that still lie ahead in Israel."

My Word (my TWO words)

Two short comments:
IF YOU WANT A NO-BULL ASSESSMENT OF WHAT YOUR NATION IS IN FOR
IF YOU WANT A NO-BULL ASSESSMENT OF WHAT YOUR NATION IS IN FOR, all you have to do is take a no-bull look at what your nation's approach has been to Israel in the conflict with Palestinian/Arabs and Islamic terrorism. 

Not only are the nations denying Islamic terror attacks in their own countries, chalking up every attack to other issues like mental illness, but the origin of this habit was developed in their denials of terror attacks in Israel.

I remember distinctly in 2000-2001 reading a comparison of the tally and circumstances of terror attacks as Israel accounted them versus the tally of what the international community recognized as terror attacks. Specifically, the international community would not recognize any one-on-one attack, such as a knifing or vehicular homicide. Regardless of clear intent, they would not put it in the accounting of terror attacks against Israel.

Now lo, these many years later, that same failure to accurately account terror attacks in the nations - regardless of clearly stated intent - we are seeing repeatedly not only in the USA, but in the UK, and European nations.

That is why I say that how the nations are treating Israel, the same thing is visited upon the nations. Whatever our leaders have decided it is okay for Israel to have to put up with, they are deciding the same thing for their nations. Remember what God's Word says, Do not be deceived, for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. That OBVIOUSLY goes for nations as well as individual men.

Now, we are the Remnant of faith in our nations, but even the believers in the nations are not unanimous in opposing how our nations are treating Israel with injustice and hypocrisy. Many believers in the nations actually have bought into all the deception and propaganda that says it is Israel who is the aggressor, and Palestinian/Arabs who are the victims.

That level of deception is bad news for the international Church. The Remnant of -true- faith recognizes the age old battle that is being fought over Israel in our day. We must stand up and not be intimidated by ANY who are in denial of that. Those who remain in deception on this issue are sealing their own fate, and I have no intention of soft-peddling that no matter how big the ministry leader is. -Donna Diorio


and PARIS MIDEAST UN CONFERENCE

  PARIS MIDEAST UN CONFERENCE  
I am not sure that all the focus on "70 Nations" having been invited to the Paris MidEast conference is as prophetic as many are assuming. On Facebook, many are excitedly posting messages about the "70 nations" going to Paris to oppose Israel, but their focus is almost entirely on the number of "70 nations" rather than on the substantive moves that are being made against Israel. 

Mentioning "70 nations" in context with the Paris meeting is sure to stir a strong biblical emotional appeal, pointing many to an expectation of an imminent Rapture. But the Bible does not refer to "70 nations" in that context.  There really isn't a 70-nations-coming-against-Israel prophecy. There is a "70 weeks" prophecy but that is not interchangeable with "70 nations," or at least not as far as I can see. 

Only one newspaper report I read shared a quote from a French official saying that invitations had been sent to 70 nations to attend the Paris conference.  All the rest of the reports seemed to be seizing on the number of 70 having prophetic significance but aren't we taking a 'prophetic' leap to assign Biblical meaning when scripture makes no reference to 70 nations in that respect? Many reports I'm reading say few than 70 will actually attend.

The reference to 70 nations comes from Deuteronomy 32:8 "When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel."

Asher Intrater recently taught on this in a video teaching called, A New Dimension of Prophecy. He said this 70 nations reference, rather than being rather than an ominous prediction, the reference to 70 nations actually points to the good of all the nations, in a reference to the Remnant within all the nations as in Israel.:

"God said when He separated the people groups, He did it according to a pattern which is based on the children of Israel. As there were 12 sons of Jacob and then 70 grandchildren, I will set up the nations in 12 streams and 70 sections. When God looks at the nations of the world He sees 12 different streams and 70 different sections of people. He groups them together in different ways. God said there is a pattern and I set borders, standards for the peoples of the world according to the pattern that was with the first family I made a covenant with. Amazing.

"We see this all the way to the end of Revelation with the nations coming into the Heavenly Jerusalem through twelve gates with the names of the children of Israel. The pattern that God sets one family, 12 sons, 70 souls altogether. Then He spreads it to the rest of the world and keeps the pattern.

"For all these years, even though they are not speaking to one another, even when they hate one another, they are still in God's pattern and they cannot get it out of it. When God brings it all back together [via the Remnant of all the 70 nations] we will see that there are borders and boundaries of the geography, and history and destiny of all the nations of the world that are connected to the tribes of Israel. Amazing."

We should most definitely pray about the Paris Mideast Conference, and I encourage you to read Hannah Weiss' excellent presentation of the history and facts of this gathering.

 We know that in the end, all nations will gather together to come against Israel, but there will also be a Remnant of faith in the "70 nations" as God sees them according to the pattern of Israel. For those - all of us - there will be rejoicing when Yeshua returns to deliver Israel from all her enemies in the world. - Donna Diorio

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 1/4/2017

Priority Prayer Focus Jan 4, 2017

We are probably going to be inundated in the next few weeks with prophetic words about what the year 2017 will hold for the Church and for Israel.  I'm not claiming to be a prophet, but like Bob Dylan wrote in Subterranean Homesick Blues, "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows." Really, all you need is to believe what God's prophetic Word says and to keep your eyes open and clear about what is happening in your world.

With that said, I believe what the year 2017 holds is a continuation of new alignments. This is a year that many more in the Church will become aware that we have 'family' in Israel - spiritual brothers and sisters in Yeshua/Jesus. Instead of trying to be aligned (grafted in) to unsaved Israel, many will begin to comprehend that the highest expression of supporting Israel is to support the ministries of like precious faith in Jesus in Israel. All support of Israel is good, but the highest level of support of Israel is when the Church and the Messianic believers in the diaspora actually connect with the community of faith in Israel.

One wouldn't think the Messianic Jews in the rest of the world needed to be told that, but apparently they do. As I heard one Jewish believer put it, everyone is looking out for their own falafel stand, not seeing how the benefit of all the falafel stands is served by standing together more.  (Hey! If it doesn't apply to you, don't get huffy.)  ;-)

Let's pray for an increase of the right alignments forming between individuals, ministries, the Church and the Messianic Diaspora with the Body in Israel. Israel is the centerpiece of the whole balagan, so of course our alignment to the laborers in that harvest field is critical! Get in right alignment in 2017.

Recuperating from an emergency appendectomy while in the US, Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate still has an amazing output of communications! Rachel Boskey has sent out their personal ministry update and it is so jam-packed I can only do a few excerpts while encouraging you to go to their website for several of the prophetic perspective that Avner has put out in the wake of the recent UN Resolution 2334 [The Kings of the Earth are Taking Their Positions]. Avner also has an article called Replacement Blowback that you will find thought provoking. (Did you know you can follow them on Facebook to get instant access to new material? Many Israeli Ministries are using Facebook as a platform to connect with more people and make their articles, videos and reports available to more people.)

In the personal update, Rachel writes about how 2017 marks the 100 year anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, the Australian ANZAC liberation of Beer Sheva from the Turks; the 70th Anniversary of the UN Partition Plan which led to the birth of Israel; and the 50 year anniversary of Jerusalem reunification to Israel. That is a lot of significantly numbered historical milestones!  What must that mean prophetically?

From Tents of Mercy in Kiryat Yam, north of Haifa, a report about the December transition of leadership from senior pastor Eitan Shishkoff to Avishalom Tekel.  Avishalom writes, "After 21 years of pioneering, the senior leadership of Tents of Mercy transitioned from the older generation of leaders to a younger generation of leaders, from Eitan to Avishalom. We have been anticipating this transition for quite some time but never did we think that it would be such a joyous occasion. When we think of transition we think of the things we will have to sacrifice, the responsibility that leads to burden, not the joy that it brings. At least that is what I always thought. But that Shabbat morning was so joyful and the presence of God was very tangible. The prophetic words spoken during the meeting brought challenge, encouragement, and inspiration. The Lord of the Harvest knows how to equip His labourers. Joel Jelski is finishing up his university studies at the end of February and will be heading to Mexico with his wife and son for a rest break with Teresa's family, and later for some US speaking engagements.  This month they served in the Katzir youth conference over Hanukkah, and ask that the seeds planted will bear great fruit. As they rest in Mexico, they will be considering and praying about the next season of their life. Pray for the Lord's perfect will for them to be brought forth.

They asked that we tell all of you specifically, you who care enough to think about them, that you would also be enriched in this New Year with the same love and comfort that you have extended to them."

She is in an extremely hard place, and being a believer for only a year, really needs the prayers of the saints for God to intervene to help and heal her. Update for Rick Ridings' daughter Esther Moore: "As a praise report, after only two weeks of being here at His Place in Germany and getting treatments, the lump has already become much softer and smaller!!!! There were two parts to the lump, and the bigger part has gotten much softer and is now further away from the surface. The smaller part has gotten so small it is now only the size of a pin head - they're saying it's only a matter of time now before they should both go completely. This change in size and hardness was confirmed both by one of the physical therapists here and the main health practitioner. Thank You Abba! ....I have been speaking healing scriptures over myself up to three times a day and feel like my faith has been strengthened more than ever before. I am confident that God has been doing a good work in me and He who has begun a good work will be faithful to complete it."
