Priority Prayer Focus Dec 6, 2017

Today at 1 PM Eastern Standard Time - about 8 PM Israel time - U.S. President Donald Trump will do what numerous presidents before him were intimidated, cajoled and talked out of doing. Trump will officially recognize the capital of Israel is Jerusalem. This is a powerful spiritual advance not only for Israel, but also for the United States. As such we must set ourselves to pray about the backlash from the enemies of God.

Please pray according to the world of the Lord to Isaiah (54:17):
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in condemnation you shall judge. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.

Let God arise and His enemies be scattered from before us.

Eddie Santoro writes that sin, like cancer has spread throughout the earth, but "You are the light of the world!" That is the Good News that God is redeeming mankind from the bad news of our infected humanity. "We need to go forth each day with a heart burning to pour His life and light upon the unsaved. We are to shine forth in front of the lost. We are to make a connection with them in love and at some point and in some way let them hear that it is the love of Yeshua that they are encountering. There is no higher calling than to be the 'light of the world'. "

From Israel Pochtar of the Ashdod congregation Beit Hallel, great reports on two conferences - a women's conference with a ministry team from Gateway Church and a men's conference, both receiving praise from the attendees blessed by the experience. As in the theme of Eddie Santoro's message about being the light of the world wherever we go,  the Heart of God ministry of Carolyn and Richard Hyde are also devoted followers of the same principle to be Yeshua's light wherever they go with whomever the meet. Revive Israel has just passed a Facebook milestone of 20,000 followers - read more inside the Weekly Summary. Also there is a short teaching on "Foundation and Sacrifice" - "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

Asher Intrater has a video about the 7 Appointed Times of the Bible and an article that is truly timely called Equal and Opposite Reaction | Newton's third law of physics is that to every "action" there is an EQUAL AND OPPOSITE "reaction." It seems to me that the same is true in the spiritual realm. To the degree that we push away the forces of evil and darkness, there is an equal and opposite reaction against us. Spiritual advance is accompanied by spiritual opposition.

Maoz Israel writes  about the 70th year since the United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of creation of a State for the Jewish People in the Land of Israel. "Today, many claim that Israel has no right to exist—despite Resolution 181, and several other instances giving legal legitimacy to a home for the Jewish people in this land. Yes, there's an increasing battle raging against Jerusalem, and that means Yeshua's return is approaching. Teaching Articles 

I have lifted some of the excellent commentary that Daniel Juster shares on his Facebook page. This focus is about the political situation in Israel and the religious stranglehold that the Ultra-Orthodox are exercising over which Jews get to be citizens. I thought it would help many to understand the religious persecution of the faith in Israel. It all starts with "Voting for Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud" with an excellent follow up  on the narrowing down of Israeli immigration.  Juster comments on many issues and the ensuing debates afterwards are always quite lively!

Voting for Benjamin Netanyahu and Likkud | Well, now I want to change directions from speaking about President Trump and to speak about the situation in Israel. Before the last election, we had in my mind an ideal coalition government. It included conservative and moderate parties, most noteworthy was the conservative nationalist Orthodox party of Naftali Bennet (in the coalition now) and Yesh Atid of Yair Lapid. The great mark of this coalition was the exclusion of the Ultra Orthodox.

Priority Prayer Focus

Don't shoot the messenger thereby falling into the footsteps of those in the first generation grumbling about Yeshua's message:  There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning him; some were saying, "He is a good man"; others were saying, "No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray." John 7:12

Turns out he WAS a good man.

Take the advice Gamaliel had a while later for a crowd grumbling against those continuing in Yeshua's message:

“Men of Israel, be careful what you are about to do with these men. . . .I tell you, stay away from these men and leave them alone. For if this plan or undertaking is of men, it will come to an end; but if it is of God, you will not be able to stop them. You might even be found fighting against God.” Acts 5:34-39

What a delight to get to start off this week with a report from Rachel and Gilad Netanel in Ein Karim whose gift for sharing the good news and extending hospitality attracts literally crowds to their home continuously. Ein Karem is an ancient village of the Jerusalem District and now a neighborhood in southwest Jerusalem and also the site of the Hadassah Medical Center.

But here is a taste: "So, they came with 40 people. I had prepared a real feast– 13 different salads, couscous, schnitzel, chicken and apple strudel with ice cream. Everyone was so delighted at how Gilad and I had decorated the place and prepared such a feast.  After they had eaten, I began to share about what this place is and how many miracles the Lord has performed in my life. They did not want to go and stayed until the evening.  Some of the people who heard my story wanted my phone number so that they could come with their families. . . . After another week, M.A. came with 50 guests. For those who do not remember me sharing about him, this is not a boring story.  He has been my friend for about 15 years." I really encourage you to read this ministry letter and get to know the labors of love of the Netanel's.

From Tiberias in the Galilee, Arni and Yonit Klien write about a busy season they have had over the summer with Galilee Worship Gatherings and many other extended days events with groups from the Far East, Ireland, Mongolia, Australia, and Germany.  These are no agenda worship and prayer meetings to seek the Lord and as Arni writes, "As many are hearing the call of the Holy Spirit into a deeper consecration and a new way of walking, we pray that these days together would take us further down that road -- beyond what He does, beyond who He is to us, and how He makes us feel…to who He is and how He feels.  Is this not the essence of what it means to be a worshiper…the likes of whom the Father seeks?" Youval Yanay is the Director of Revive Israel, one of the younger generation who has been discipled for ministry leadership and has now in fact taken on that role as the baton has been passed in Revive leadership.  I really liked how Yanay shared about several of the Revive Israel  ministers, "... we wanted to share with you just how much your faith and support is knitting our hearts together for His purposes. Together we are advancing the Kingdom of Yeshua in Israel and having a positive and effective impact on Israeli society. Together we are supporting believers in Yeshua who carry a strong witness and testimony to non-believers throughout their local communities and the world. Together we are producing much fruit for the Kingdom.  Below are just a few examples of how your heart connection with the ministries of Revive Israel is making an eternal impact." From the Maoz Ministries of Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram our eyes are directed toward a U.S. proposal for a peace deal - rumors are flying and of course, tensions are high concerning what will happen next. Also Maoz directs our eyes to prayer for young people as a battle is on to steal away the Messianic youth from continuing to walk on faithfully. "Some are even leaving the faith.  The reasons vary, but the fact remains—the enemy has been working overtime to plant lies and discord among youth in an attempt to corrupt the next generation of believers. The Arad Hebrew congregation Hasdey Yeshua in the Negev also files their report focused primarily on their children and youth - seeing their job to help the parents to teach their children to think. In this respect they greatly enjoyed having Professor Tony Futerman speak at a recent Shabbat about science and faith. Futerman is a well-known scientific researcher at the Weizman Institute - and a Messianic believer!  There is also a free book written by the Professor in English and in Hebrew that is offered inside the Weekly Summary attachment. “Science and Faith...Is There a Conflict?”

The Arad congregation continues in much needed outreach to the nearby Bedouin with Medical, Dental and Humanitarian outreach please read more inside the Weekly Summary. From Revive Israel weekly ministry letter, an article by the Team, Keep Your Relationships Bigger. " My pattern of self-preservation had been to simply cut the person off who was overwhelming me and then I thought I had resolved my problem -- because I thought the person WAS my problem!"  Also a video by Asher Intrater: Experiencing the Book of Revelation Now. "It's time for us as the global body of the Messiah to move in to the Revelation of John. The things of the end times are for us today, because the conditions for the end times are aligned."

From the Director of Operations for Tikkun International, Ben Juster, reflections on Thanksgiving and being so grateful for gatherings of families especially.  If that is not your reality, Juster reminds us of the promises of God to us in that regard - and it is good. Joel Jelski has transitioned to northern Israel from Jerusalem and begun his discipleship program there. Already he is starting on the phase 2 of his transitional training season with the Lech Lecha discipleship training with is a full time discipleship program as a family.  Then they proceed to the 5 month program in Cyprus called Gateways Beyond.  Many Messianic young people in Israel and around the world have been in the Gateways Beyond program and here is where you can help this young family man raise the funds to complete his training. I just want to add that Joel has since his teenage years been highly active in ministry in Israel - from the pro-life ministry, to prayer and worship ministries.  All this training investment in Joel will be a good investment because he has for many years shown how all-in committed to the ministry that he is.

VIDEO: Israeli congregational leaders meet at semi-annual conference | Kehila News Israel Staff | Last week Messianic leaders from all across Israel met at Moshav Yad HaShmona located near Jerusalem. This conference is held twice a year for congregational leaders to share and discuss issues related to our lives as believers in Israel, hear from others what the Lord is doing in their communities and find ways to work together to promote the Body of Messiah.

Priority Prayer Focus Nov 22, 2017

It is Thanksgiving week here in the United States, a holiday that was first celebrated in 1621 by the Pilgrims of the Mayflower after their first year of settlement.  My own family arrived in the New World in 1638. One year after arriving on this soil, the Pilgrims came together with members of the Wampanoag Indian tribe to give thanks to God for their survival in the new land. Although there are many who would like to wipe the memory of the origins and godly heritage of Thanksgiving from American history, it is true that our Thanksgiving holiday is not some vague sense of gratefulness, but truly a bowing of the knee to the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob — and us who are co-inheritors of the promises of God through Yeshua.

I want to thank God for His blessings on my own life, which I have been thinking lately of as just like Ecclesiastes 7:8,  "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning." And I am thankful to be living in the time when God is raising up the witness of the body of Messiah in Israel. I am so grateful to be able to play a small part in sharing their witness to the world. May you all be blessed and may this spirit of Thanksgiving grace your hearts.

Jerusalem may be about to expand - Here's why | Tzippe Barrow | The Ministerial Legislative Committee will vote Sunday on a bill to annex 19 "settlements" to the Jerusalem municipality. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports the measure, which if passed will be voted on by the Knesset before becoming law.

From the Ashdod Beit Hallel congregation headed by Israel Pochtar, preparations are underway for both Hanukkah and Christmas outreaches they are doing from gift boxes to food hampers that they will be blessing the many Russian-Israelis that live in their area of ministry.  As Pochtar writes, "New Jewish immigrants have very little in the way of material possessions and finances, and they come to Israel with the hopes of a better life for them and their children. It is our God-given commission and joy to reach out to them with food, clothing, bedding and appliances as they get settled and establish themselves in their new homeland. Ye'shi Reinhardt of Hands of Mercy in S'derot is back to work following his heart surgery, and offers us a quick view of the Aliyah Return Center in northern Israel receiving a truck load of clothing donated by the citizens of Sde'rot.  Watch the 30 second video of the team at the Aliyah Return Center thanking Hands of Mercy and the citizens of Sde'rot for this blessing.

From the Maoz Ministries in Tel Aviv (Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram), Katy Smith writes about the tensions in Israeli towns located near the border, as the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization has been openly threatening retaliation over the terror tunnel that the IDF destroyed on the Gaza border.  She also writes about the earthquake that originated in Iraq at its border with Iran that was felt all the way to Israel. Many casualties in Iraq and Iran brought an offer from Israel to help but the help was rejected. Here is an Urgent Global Prayer for Lebanon - Joni Koski explains why in the latest ministry letter from the Revive Israel team.  There is also a report from Henryk Wieja on a recent conference in Poland that he, Asher Intrater, Don Finto and artist Rick Wienecke ( Fountain of Tears sculpture) all shared in. Revive didn't include this, but I want to keep drawing attention to an extremely important new book by Asher intrater. If there ever was a single word for the decade to come that God is emphasizing to the body of Christ, I believe it is this word: ALIGNMENT.  Asher's significant insight into what it means is captured in this small book with big impact, Alignment. "Global Alignment is speeding up creating a new synergy for Israel and the Church in the end times. Everything is lining up to the ends of the earth and back again. . . . Alignment leads to revival; the manifest glory of God will rest on the city of Jerusalem and the people of God everywhere. The nations of the world will be lined up on one side or the other."

Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate and the Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv writes about a recent interview he conducted for GOD TV with Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister. Ron writes, "The largest tour company in Israel is owned by a Messianic Jew. I just got an email from a Messianic friend who is working inside one of Israel’s larger political parties." No wonder he is marveling over how "More and more Israeli believers are having an impact on all aspects of society." Including, two Messianic singers in recent years who have wowed secular judges in reality singing competitions. Eric Benson's House of Victory is devoted to taking in men whose lives have been destroyed by their addictions to disciple them and help them find freedom in the Messiah. Their ministry is a rough row to hoe, but they are seeing men whose lives are re-born and put back on track with the Lord's restoration. Howard and Randi Bass have been preparing for their annual Thanksgiving holiday at Nachalat Yeshua in Beer Sheva, now that the ANZAC celebrations and visitors are beginning to wind down.  They also share news of two sons, Tal, an IDF commander over a platoon of recruits in combat engineering, and Evan, who helped in translating for the 3-day Joshua Fund conference that Joel Rosenberg puts on for pastors in Israel. Howard also shares news of the appreciation breakfast for their 'golden agers' in the congregation, which are about 1/3 of the members. ..plus new active steps the congregation is taking with young adults and young marrieds. From the Carmel congregation a report by associate pastor Peter Tsukahira tells of the outreach they are doing with the Russian-speaking immigrants in the Carmel area. They provided a tour for about 50 of the immigrants to "re-connect them with the richness of their heritage and the God of Israel." There are a huge population of Russian Jewish immigrants in Israel and these godly heritage tours are proving to be an excellent way to reach this community.  Also, the Carmel congregation has started a supplemental program to the government sponsored "ulpan" which is an immersion into the Hebrew language to all new immigrants. Ulpan is an intense program, but as you can imagine, many people need more to help them become proficient in the language.  Aslo, Tsukahira writes about "Restoring God's Kingdom in Israel" and their study in the book of Nehemiah.
