Priority Prayer Focus The Summer Solstice / First Day of Summer

Hallelujah for signs and wonders! Today on the first day of Summer, the Summer Solstice which is the longest day of the Summer, we are getting reports of rare, highly unusual rain in Israel. Not only is it raining in Tel Aviv, but it is raining in the Negev Desert!  As Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate asked on Facebook this morning, Could this be a prophetic sign of things to come? Let it rain.

Also, after about three weeks here in high summer heat of Texas without air conditioning, this morning I am also waking up to restored air conditioning. It has been a horrible stress test for me as I have gotten really heat intolerant in my 'old age'. If this breakthrough on the Summer Solstice holds spiritual meaning, I know I for one welcome it! I have seen many, many believers struggling under major stresses over the past several weeks pressing people to their limits. We know those days are upon us, but so also are the breakthroughs and outpourings of refreshing. Let us be glad and rejoice in the LORD who never leaves us nor forsakes us.

A little unusual kick off for Israelprayer this week with a word of encouragement from Guy Cohen of the Harvest of Asher Congregation in Akko. Drawing from Exodus 14, Guy asks,  "How many of us have ever felt trapped on both sides with no hope in front and the enemy at our back?" Rania Sayegh is a Christian Arab in Nazareth of the House of Prayer & Exploits. She is a prophetic intercessor is and someone who will give you great hope for what God is doing among Christian Arab women. In this lengthy prayer letter giving reports on the Deborah's Arising conferences, including the third on upcoming in September, Rania shares a riveting vision she received recently just prior to a ministry tour in England, Switzerland and France. From the Sorko-Ram's Maoz Ministries, Katy Smith writes about an important spiritual battle that is going on in Israel regarding the organized religious opposition to the Messianic Jewish believers. Recently there was an incident at the FIRM's (Fellowship of Israel-Related Ministries) Jerusalem Encounter Conference. This is an excellent report about what happened, what the Messianic response was and it truly underscores the great need of intercessory prayer over this ongoing issues. Eddie and Jackie Santoro of the Love of Yeshua congregation begin their prayer letter, appropriately, with a word on loving our neighbor as ourself. Eddie also shares about recent healings in the congregation, which have become standing room only as the congregation continues to thrive.  Most of you know that Eddie has a powerful healing testimony from brain cancer in the last couple of years, and it has ignited his faith to pray for healing in others in need. Also from Revive Israel, Asher Intrater's personal ministry, this article by Asher Scattering the Sheep? on being zealous to oppose demonic attacks on the community of faith as a whole. In a video teaching Shekel and Shemesh Asher ministers on to how we view the people we interact with every day.

Mati Cohen of the Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv writes a short testimony in the Revive Israel prayer letter which you can read inside the Weekly Summary attachment.  There is also a video Ends of the Earth where Youval shares about some special guests Revive Israel recently received. Also a special request for David, the newest member of our Israel team, who was recently hospitalized after being hit by a bus while riding his bicycle home from work. Lura and Eddie Beckford are making all their arrangements as their time in Israel draws to an end. They will be leaving August 22nd and still have a few outstanding things to square away - like vehicles and one beloved dog to re-home. Please read their prayer letter inside the Weekly Summary attachment                and if you can help with their move, I know it will come in handy. Lura also shares how they perceived it was the Lord's timing to return to the U.S. If you have followed their story in Israelprayer for the past 16 years, you will know the persecution was pitched in Arad against them all the way, but they were determined to stand. Now they have been released by the Lord to a new season in their life.

The House of Victory in Carmel is a rehab ministry, birthed out of the vision of David Davis who recently passed into glory. Many years ago Eric Benson came to head this ministry and it is easy to see the heart of Yeshua reading the summaries of testimonies of men they are working with at the rehab. Jim Schutz is the Executive Direction of the Joseph Project, a humanitarian aid importer providing to the needy through reputable organizations and professionals. Many, many times as we read the ministry letters from across Israel, we read that the humanitarian supplies they are distributing are coming from the Joseph Project. That is a testimony in itself in my view because I believe we are to funnel our aid as much as possible through the Body of Messiah in Israel - the Israeli citizens who are believers. Why? So the as yet unbelieving recipients, agencies and so on are able to see the Messianic community as the force for good in Israel that they truly are.  I encourage you to read all of the Joseph Project report inside the Weekly Summary attachment to discover how many ways they are helping

Update from Lura Beckford whose kidney was enflamed and painful. She had to wait many days for a doctor, got busy packing for their exit from Israel soon and forgot all about it until I asked, she answered with surprise that she no longer had any pain whatsoever! Praise the LORD!

Update on Esther Ridings Moore: We would appreciate some urgent prayers for these points:

                1. I (Esther) have been feeling more pain where the lump is and it is now feeling bigger than it was before. I recently had the opportunity through a mutual friend to meet Chris Wark from the website chrisbeatcancer.com, who I mentioned in the last email and whose treatment plan I have been following along with other supplements. He did say that it often can seem to get worse before it gets better, and soon my body should kick into clearing out mode. We have felt God has confirmed multiple times this treatment is the way to go for me and that He has promised that this will not be a long, drawn out process, but that He is watching over his word to hasten to perform it. Please stand in prayer with us that this will be gone QUICKLY and that we will see breakthrough in physical healing.

                2. Will has just had shingles break out on his face. He had it before, years ago, but has been under a lot of stress and pressure recently. Please pray for complete and quick healing from this for him as well.

                3. We feel it is important for me to go back to His Place in Germany as soon as possible to get more intensive treatments and therapies again (many of which are difficult to have done here in the UK). We have booked tickets for me to go this Tuesday (20th June) until the 1st of July. Please pray for provision for us, that the funds will come in for the treatments and accommodation costs. We are currently in need of a large amount to cover this.

                4. Please pray for continued peace and grace for us in this difficult tension period between the promise and the fulfillment of the promise of healing. We have seen incredible breakthroughs spiritually, mentally and emotionally, but have yet to see the breakthrough physically. We are standing on His promises and speaking out His word every day and know that He who has started a good work will be faithful to complete it, and that I will see my complete physical healing. Thank you for standing with us in believing for this. We recently spoke at Bath City Church, sharing what we felt God has shown us about thriving in the hard times. Praying the Headlines

6/19/17  Martin Sarvis Jerusalem | Facing Giants During a Year of Jubilee | This week US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Mideast envoy Jason Greenblatt are scheduled to arrive in Israel as envoys seeking on behalf of the American administration to facilitate a revival of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. Only weeks after the nation celebrated 50 years since the war which brought under its oversight not only Jerusalem, but the covenant heartland of Israel, Judea and Samaria, moves are being suggested by both our friends and enemies raising into question the validity of that oversight in most if not any of the land.

On Monday morning Army Radio reported that plans for 6,000 new housing units in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Gilo, Har Homa and Pisgat Zeev (areas under Jordanian occupation before 1967) have been ordered frozen (This less than two months after it was announced by Israel’s construction minister that 25,000 new homes would be built in the capital, 15,000 beyond the “Green Line”).   Another plan, awakening turbulence in much of the administration, would require Israel to transfer parts of Area C in the West Bank (a region which, under the Oslo agreements, falls under full Israeli military and civilian control) into Area A—under Palestinian control.  This would include allowing the city of Kalkilya (a hotbed of terrorism during the last Intifata), and lying just beyond Highway 6 in central Israel, to extend into Area C, and to double in size.  In fact, last week an Arab member of the Knesset claimed that Israel was planning on extending five Palestinian cities into the present Area C.

Waking up from a bad dream with the last image I saw a computer screen that suddenly went black and left me with an ominous feeling, I heard the words, "Trust God". It is surely a personal word, but in these distressing times, and knowing that many are going through personally distressing times, I also believe it is a NOW Word of God to keep before us as a priority.

Catching up with a ministry report from Jacob Damkani that got away from me last week, on May 31 he wrote about how Yeshua was not rejected by ALL Israel. In just one account there were likely 20,000 who came to hear Him. Jacob says, "We want to make Yeshua famous again. Today. In Israel. In Tel Aviv. We want to see Israelis saved. And we need your help with this. We need your prayer. Israel needs your prayer. The lost sheep of Israel need your prayer. Please pray that the Lord will soften the hearts that have been hardened by so much wrong doing in the name of our Lord. Pray for courage for those the Lord calls to himself, to respond to that call."

This is really the cry of the Israeli ministries throughout Israel.  Could you please respond to their call: "We need your help.... For 2000 years the Church has been trying to keep the Gospel away from the Jews. It’s time to change that. Israel needs to hear the Gospel to be saved." From the pastors of the Karem-El God's Vineyard congregation, this daughter of the Carmel congregation offers its thoughts on the "Passing of a Great Man of God" David Davis. "David came as an immigrant to build up Zion and advance the kingdom of God in this ancient land. David will be greatly missed but his legacy of prayer, pursuing holiness and living the word will live on in both congregations."

The congregation also gives an update on the many activities of the holidays observed recently by Israel and their own congregation. One, a gathering for young adults from all over Haifa, "Kerem El is a congregation full of young adults! Our young adults took the initiative to get together with other young adults from different congregations in Haifa. We all met at the Haifa beach where we played volleyball, worshiped, and enjoyed each others' fellowship. This opened a door for us to know other young adults from different congregations. Awake Israel ministries, Shlomy and Miraim Abramov in Rishon LeZion, are doing many things in their vision to reach Israelis - like the free bus trips where they share biblical content (including the Gospel) with citizens while touring the sites. They also do outreaches around Israel - on the beaches, among Holocaust survivors along with volunteer teams from the nations. In fact, there are volunteer opportunities they are offering for 2-week to 1 month periods which includes free room and board. We received just a short note from Evan Levine of the HaTikva Project about how 5 of their HaTikva Dental team have just returned from a medical mission in Ethiopia. Learn more about this important vision that is being a blessing inside and outside of Israel in the Weekly Summary attachment     

The weekly Revive Israel ministry letter includes this sage advice from Daniel Juster in his article, Be Content: Four Great Exhortations from Phil. 4. There is also a recap of the 2017 RESTORE conference the Tikkun Ministries held last week. This was the 37th Annual Tikkun America leadership and RESTORE conference. 37 years of continual ministry affiliation with the founders of Tikkun. That is really saying something strong about relationship!  We got to catch some of the live streams from this conference and it really was a blessing - including the session from Mike Bickle where he explained the prophetic words that led him into establishing prophetic intercession for the salvation of Israel. Many of the American prophets have been puzzled about why Bickle cares about Israel. In this session he answered that question and it was quite powerful. Listen here on Facebook where there are also messages from the conference from the main leadership.

Also, from the Baruch Haba 2017 tour of Israel, Asher Intrater teaches on Taking the Land and this is a video from the Livestream of Shavout 2017 in Israel.

The Intercessors for Israel - Ofer Amitai, Eliyahu Ben-Haim and Chuck Cohen - send out their Friday Prayer Points covering the intercessory subjects they have been praying over in Jerusalem, along with scriptures that will help you pray over these issues to. This past Friday they sent on the following topics: The "Peace" Process, Repositioning that is taking place in the Arab world, Prayers for Israel’s Ambassadors, Security of Israel’s borders and the Mediterranean Sea, prayers for the IDF new recruits, Aliyah (Jewish immigration from the nations) and their own IFI team ministry. Please read for ways to pray over this important issues.

Ron Cantor (I don't know how he finds time to write with all he has going on!) sends us a greatly encouraging report of healings as the Tiferet Yeshua congregation has been hitting the streets of Tel Aviv to pray for people. Ron writes, "Something amazing is happening in Israel. In my 14 years here, I have never seen such faith and excitement for sharing the gospel. I have never seen a time when so many have faith that they can pray for unbelievers and see the power of God."  He continues in some detail, please read inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Rick Ridings shares a vision that he received on May 16th which he believes is strategic to the season of June through August for Jerusalem. As I read it, it was my impression that believers in America could also apply these scriptures to the season we are in. I would say let's pray them over us ALL! I believe this is such an important thing for Christians to know and understand about the believers in Israel that I am reprinting this article written by the Kehila News Staff at the front of Arrows from Zion this week. I am 100% FOR Israel, but even Israel has lots of areas that need improvement and the exclusion and attempted exclusion of Jewish believers in Jesus is one area that we must draw a line in sand about. In prayer and in voicing our concerns to the Israeli government without hesitation or apology.

Discrimination? Messianic believers’ struggle for citizenship in Israel | KehilaNews.com | 

When Israel’s prime minister boasted last month that the Jewish state is “committed to the freedom of all faiths and to the rights of all,” many Messianic Jews trying to make aliyah were left wondering how exactly their faith fits into this picture of democracy and tolerance.

“Throughout the Middle East, Christian communities are decimated, minorities persecuted. But here in Israel, we’re proud to have a growing and thriving Christian community, and we guarantee the rights of all,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said upon welcoming U.S. President Donald Trump to Israel.

Yet several Jews who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah are systematically being denied the right to immigrate to Israel because of their faith, several Messianic Jews contend. As one of them noted when he heard Netanyahu’s speech, “We could only think, ‘unfortunately the rights of all are not yet guaranteed, Mr. Prime Minister.’”

The Ministry of Interior is notorious for barring Jews who believe in Yeshua the right to immigrate. With strict laws for making aliyah, Israel nevertheless actively encourages Jews from around the world to consider making the Jewish state their home. Jews who immigrate receive a benefits package to help them start off here including discounts on major purchases such as homes and cars, tax reductions on their income for a few years and free Hebrew classes.

A person must be able to prove with certain documents that they are Jewish or that they are descended from at least one Jewish grandparent. Then, under the Right of Return, they may move to Israel and receive citizenship. However, Jews who believe in Yeshua are deemed “Christian” and are no longer eligible for citizenship — even if they have proven their Jewish lineage.

While there are a few cases of persecution against believers in Beersheba and recent protests in Dimona, several Messianic Jews trying to make aliyah are still fighting for their status to live here in long, drawn out appeals processes and court cases.

This kind of blatant discrimination must not be allowed to continue … the rights of an entire segment of Jews ARE being trampled. A few whose immigration applications have been rejected by Israel’s Ministry of Interior shared their stories with KNI on condition of anonymity because their cases are ongoing.

“I am sure that Prime Minister Netanyahu is unaware that a handful of people who work for the Interior Ministry are not living up to that statement – at least where it concerns the rights of Messianic Jews who were born of Jewish parents,” C., who is an Israeli Jewish citizen, told us. “These corrupt officials are purposely withholding the right of my son, whose late father was also an Israeli citizen, to live here, in the land of his forefathers.”

“It would be right and proper for our prime minister to be informed of this and to make sure that the rights of all Jews — irrespective of their personal faith beliefs — are legally and morally granted. My son is a Jew by birth, and, as such, he must be allowed to immigrate to his homeland simply because the law says that Jews, the children of Jews and even the grandchildren of Jews are eligible for citizenship,” she continued. “Political and religious views of such individuals is neither the business of the State nor something which makes them ineligible for the Law of Return.”

Jews in all democratic nations of the world are free to believe whatever they want or nothing at all. Not in Israel!

J. and his wife had all of their papers in order to make aliyah and waited on an answer for months. They purchased a home in Israel and set out to serve their community, living off their savings and not intending to burden the state. Finally the response came from the Interior Ministry.

“’You were denied citizenship because you belong to Messianic Judaism, which is an exception to the Law of Return,’ This in spite of the fact that we are 100 percent Jewish,” J. said. “It was not what we had expected.”

J. noted that Jews, in all democratic nations of the world, are free to believe whatever they want or nothing at all. Even in Israel a Jewish person can be involved in New Age, Buddhism, atheism, etc.

“But believe in Yeshua? You’re labeled a ‘dangerous missionary’ and various anti-missionary organizations will work hard to find you out and then keep you out,” J. said. “This, Mr. Prime Minister, is not our idea of guaranteeing the rights of all. Perhaps, now is the time to uphold the words that you proclaimed to the president of the United States of America.”

J.’s lawyers are pessimistic about them receiving citizenship despite a years-long appeals process.

We felt as if we had been violated and that we were criminals

In another case, A., who is an Israeli Jew, and her husband who isn’t Jewish, were called in by the Interior Ministry. They were split up and their phones taken from them and then interrogated separately as to which congregation they belong and whether A. shares a “foreign faith” with her husband.

“We obviously felt as if we had been violated and that we were criminals,” she said.

The questions included what they do on the weekends and names of their friends.

“Everything that we said was being written down, and then we were requested to sign what they wrote,” she said.

The people interviewed here, and others not mentioned in this article but encountering the same treatment, are understandably drained and discouraged.

“We committed ourselves to give and not to take – of our time, our talents and our finances,” J. told us. “We’re not here to try to change the laws of the land. We are just requesting some form of status so that we can remain here and continue to serve individuals and families in our city.”

C. concurred and said it’s about time the Ministry of Interior live up to Netanyahu’s words.

“This kind of blatant discrimination must not be allowed to continue,” she said, “because it means that the rights of an entire segment of Jews are being trampled upon.”

Please keep this as a Priority Prayer focus. One reason to do so is because the blessing that the LORD has for Israel is deposited in the believers of Israel. Out of the BODY of Messiah in Israel will flow the blessing out to the whole nation.

If we could point to one core scripture motivating the Israeli ministries, I think it would be the one shared by the Hasdey, or Mercy of Yeshua congregation in Arad this week: “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”...And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Yeshua said to him, Feed My Sheep."  John 21:17  

As they write, "Feeding Yeshua’s sheep involves much more than just proclaiming the Good News. ... during Yeshua’s ministry on earth, He fed the multitudes, healed the sick, raised the dead and proclaimed Good News to the poor. If we are truly His disciples, we are called to live our lives in the same way, showing the love of God through meeting people’s physical needs and their spiritual needs through helping them come into a relationship with Yeshua."

The congregation writes about their several year outreach to a Bedouin tribe near to Arad with care in various forms - after school programs for the children, food, clothing and other practical help. They also write that they have to go to the tribe because "The needy won’t come here; they would become targets for the ultra-orthodox." From the Intercessors for Israel in Jerusalem, Ofer Amitai, Eliyahu Ben-Haim and Chuck Cohen, we have pulled four key prayer points from their Friday Prayer Points: Salvation of Moslems during the month of Ramadan, Salvation of Israel (in light of the death of an Israeli evangelist in Iraq), and for the Aliyah of Jews to Israel: "Ezekiel 36 suggests that Aliyah is a precondition for the fullness of salvation which is to come among the Jews.  "For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean."  Ezekiel 36:24-25" Lastly for the Scottish Israel Prayer conference several of them are participating in before the UK elections.

Asher Intrater of Revive Israel has been overflowing with the theme of Alignment for a couple of years now. If you follow his video teachings, you've probably caught that. Here is a video on the subject from the recent Baruch HaBa tour of Revive Israel and Tents of Mercy. (An excellent tour which I took in 2005). Fresh of their 21st Galilee Worship Gathering, Arni and Yonit Klein are really excited about what God has been doing among them and inside the Weekly Summary attachment, Arni shares a couple of prophetic intercession experiences they've have had in these gatherings - in the most recent a worship trip to the Dead Sea. Wow! What a thriving community of believers of Yeshua! Daniel and Shirya Yahav lead the Face of God Fellowship and they share some of the recent testimonies within their congregation, also asking prayers for one of their newborns, a baby girl who has already undergone heart surgery at only a few days old. Shirya also asks prayer over Daniel and their family as he goes out into the nations to minister. Also, they are continuing to need prayer and support for a larger congregational facility.

Shirya also writes, "We continue to desire your prayers for the salvation of Israel. Many are hungry and seeking but unfortunately the New Testament is still considered much of a Taboo, and a forbidden book. Amazingly, there is a lot of eastern religions becoming more and more popular among our people, but believing in Yeshua, from the line of David, whom the Bible speaks about, is considered a false religion…  We need God to pour out His spirit and open the eyes of people to the truth!"

Ronit Bender in Carmel has just returned from a 3-week ministry trip in the US putting Israel in the spotlight in Colorado and Rhode Island. Ronit writes, "When I go out to the nations it is a great honour to have the opportunity to share first-hand about what is happening among the Messianic congregations in Israel. You probably realize that mainstream news concerning Israel is often adverse and distorted. The media is rarely supportive of us. On Jerusalem Day, Israel Pochtar reports that they were able to baptize 30 new believers in the Jordan River. He writes about the experience inside the Weekly Summary attachment. "....It is also crucially important to recognize the times in which we're living and understand that the Gospel has to be preached to the nation of Israel. We see with our own eyes the massive harvest that is ready to be reaped. The time is now! We shall pray and preach the Kingdom of God in this nation, until we have prepared this land for the glorious return of the King of Israel, the eternal hope of our nation - Yeshua."
