WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 9/13/2017

Priority Prayer Focus Sep 13, 2017

What are we focused on as the world grows darker spiritually by the day? I don't mean that we turn a blind eye to the spiritual sickness we see throughout the world, or to the increasing disasters that were prophesied before the end would come? It would be silly and even foolish to live in such a faith bubble that we would not recognize the fact of this present darkness.

Equally foolish would be to ignore the flip side of end times prophecies, like Isaiah 60:1-2 "Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you.…"

This is the time to focus on the good things that the biblical prophecies have to say about the days when lawlessness and spiritual darkness increase, yet Yeshua said that despite the signs of wars, famines, natural disasters, the end would not come without the major outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon Israel and upon the nations. Let's keep our focus, so that "all Israel shall be saved". We serve a God who brings us great hope for the future, we should not be fearful of what lies ahead of us.

Starting this week with a correction from last week: I identified the Jerusalem Prayer Tower as part of the ministry of Kobi & Shani Ferguson of Yeshua Israel in Jerusalem, however they have not been at that ministry in several years. Currently they are involved in a professional recording studio for the worship ministries of Israel, as well as their on-going focus on family discipleship and helping the needy. To learn more about their ministry, please open the subscription-only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

From the Revive Israel team, several items from Asher Intrater, like Prayer and politics, commenting on the clip of US President Trump asking for a day of national prayer in the wake of Hurricane Harvey on the Texas Gulf Coast - also this video by Asher: Are the hurricanes and floods from God?   And another video by Asher on how do we teach young people to give messages in the congregation and teach the bible? How To Teach the Gospel

Also included in this Revive Israel ministry letter a way you can be involved in an outreach they help fund for believing kids and adults in broken families and single parent households in their community through working with horses in equine therapy. See inside the Weekly Summary attachment how you can play a part. There is also a great little piece by Don Finto, The First Button - "First things first!  I'll never forget Bob Benson's illustration about the buttons on a shirt. Get the first button right, and all the others will be in line. Get that first button wrong, and the whole shirt will be lopsided."

Plus a short report on the Zoe Ministries Conference in Jerusalem where a network of 50+ Korean churches came for 4 days of prayer, worship and teaching based on Ephesians. The Revive Israel Korea team and Jerusalem team participated in the conference.

n relation to this, I am also re-running an announcement from a few weeks back on the new book coming soon from Asher Intrater called "Alignment".  This book covers some important ground which we all need to prayerfully consider as "We are entering into a final transition age similar to the book of Acts. The apostolic and the apocalyptic are converging. Biblical pattern is becoming living prophecy. Alignment leads to revival; the manifest glory of God will rest on the city of Jerusalem and the people of God everywhere. The nations of the world will be lined up on one side or the other.  Watch the video message from Asher.  I, Donna, have read this book and highly recommend it to all both in Israel and in the nations.  See more inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Howard Bass of the Nachalat Yeshua (Yeshua's Inheritance) congregation in Beer Sheva starts his prayer letter with thoughts and prayers for those suffering in Houston and Florida from the hurricanes. Let me just say that we in the US really appreciate your prayers, as the devastation has been pretty overwhelming. The news concentrates on Houston in Hurricane Harvey, but the truth is that the whole southern Texas Gulf Coast from Corpus Christi to Beaumont has been wiped out. This area is huge in oil refineries, Gulf drilling and shipping ports - and many Texas living and working along the whole stretch have been devasted by the floods. As Howard notes, "... such things are becoming more frequent and more devastating than in times past.  Famines, earthquakes, pestilence are nightly news items across the world.  As the last days get nearer to their end some years down the road, we can only expect more, and a difficulty to cope and to recover.  Yet in the love of God, He has told us these things in advance, so that our hearts can rest in Him even as we are pummeled all around." Yes, and amen! Thank you for prayers. We have seen in Texas, for example, that faith-based humanitarian aid has outdistanced what the Federal Emergency Management Agency has done to help those devasted. This is a witness to those in need!

Howard writes, "With these things in mind, here are two links to teachings that I just gave, the first in Singapore, the second to our congregation yesterday. With these teachings in mind, while in Singapore, I had a chance to participate in a discipleship school, called Making Disciples of All Nations.  There is much good teaching and examples provided in this school (and seven nations were present for the 5 days) of how to influence our societies as believers."

You can learn more about the congregation Howard Bass leads Here is a two-minute video produced by FIRM (Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries) for Yeshua's Inheritance Congregation. Also read the entire ministry update from them inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Eric Benson is the head of the House of Victory, Beit Nitzachon, in Haifa, which is a rehab for men in Israel who are seeking to be free of addictions. They literally go into the highways and byways to seek men who are ready to end the self-destructive addictive life. It is the type of ministry that can be very emotionally taxing, as addicts go back and forth in their desire to be free or return to the addiction. They are people who generally have lost everything that ever meant anything to them. In this ministry letter, Eric tells many of the stories of men that they are currently ministering to - plus some wonderful reports on men who have overcome addictions and come back to an abundant life on the Rock of Yeshua. Read about these men and get the prayer requests submitted by Eric inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Daniel and Shirya Yahav are the leaders of the Face of God Fellowship (Peniel) in Tiberias, which is still, I believe the largest congregation in Israel. The operate a school for their children, which Shira tells us is a little bit crowded currently as they are having to double up in the kindergarten building while desperately needed  renovations are going on in the older kids school building. They hope to complete the work by December and this is an area where prayers are welcomed because of common delays in construction work.  The school kids did get a special invite by the Israel director general of the ministry of science & technology, at the local computer education center.  The manager of the place told our headmaster that "your kids behave the best from all the schools we know, therefore we invited you to come".  Read more from the congregation, which is located in a heavily traditionally-religious community, inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries. There are several items that I don't want to put out in public via Arrows from Zion so please learn more inside the Weekly Summary. They do have new teaching material available on their website - contact info inside the Summary. Shirya writes, "I would specially recommend to you a series of teaching on "My sheep hear my voice", found on page 4, under the audio."

We have a prayer request in from Richard Wheeler on the Hands of Mercy team for Ye'shi Reinhardt who will be undergoing exploratory heart surgery on Sep 17th after being dianosed with a 70% blockage of the right ventricle. They welcome your prayers - and if you want to reach out to Ye'shi there is a direct email given inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Orna Grinman of A Sign and Example Ministry (Ot Oo’Mofet)  has a new blog post, A Tabernacle in Finland and in you | Dana immigrated to Israel from Latvia eight years ago, and married a good friend of mine. In her homeland she was working as a lawyer for the central bank. In Israel she wanted to seek a different path for fulfillment. From Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram's Maoz Ministries an invitation to participate in the publication and distribution of a Narrated Bible in Chronological Order in HEBREW. They write, " We don't know how the view looks from your country, but from our vantage point here in Israel, we see signs of the soon-coming of the Lord.
There are three events that Yeshua Himself said must take place before His Second Coming:
       1. The Gospel will be preached to all nations.
       2. Jerusalem will be trampled upon by the nations until the times of the nations are fulfilled.
       3. The Jewish people will greet the return of Yeshua, saying "Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord."
YOUR GIFT to translate the Narrated Bible in Chronological Order into HEBREW will literally bring the Word of God to Israel!

From the Yuval Messianic Worhip Center for Music and the Arts - an invitation to attend a national concert of worship and praise just days before Yom Kippur: Tuesday, 26/9 (Get place, times and ticket info inside the Weekly Summary attachment. It" is a special opportunity to meet together as the Body from all around the Land in an atmosphere of reverence to intercede for the salvation of Israel, through ancient and new songs of worship.  Let us turn our faces toward the Lord on behalf of our people, declaring together His truth, His promises and love in song and prayer!"  This concert is hosted by "Yuval Music and Arts Worship Center" together with FIRM. The concert is produced by: Yuval Arts staff, Ann Hilsden, Sheli Myers and Jamie Hilsden.

The Israeli Messianic Marketplace  Feature of the Week:

Who is Knocking on my Door?
Managing your painful thoughts and feelings, so they won't manage you
By Orna Grinman, "Ot OoMofet" ministry, Israel

Why do we struggle so much with various chronic problems? Doesn't God promise us a real and lasting victory? Will we only enjoy it in Heaven? What about now?

Anger, fear, depression, frustration - how come they are so much more powerful than the “positive” ones? Why do they they take over our horizon and cause us to forget the good things? The painful thoughts and emotions affect our decision making and quality of relationships, drain our strength and resources, and make our daily routine unbearable at times.

“Who is knocking on your door?” answers these questions, and equips the reader with two extremely efficient tools. These tools have caused a revolution in the life of the writer, and in those of many others, ho decided to manage their thoughts and emotions, so that these won’t manage them.

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 9/7/2017

Priority Prayer Focus Sep 6, 2017

I saw this posted on Facebook this morning and after conversations there this week my response was: "There it is! In one concise statement!"

"In the Last Days, everyone will come up to Jerusalem, either to make war against God or to worship Him. Which side will you be on?"

Considering all that is going on in the world, I invite you to listen to this almost 22 minute audio message "Jerusalem: Every Man's Destiny" by Asher Intrater as he speaks about the Feast of Tabernacles. In the Last Days, everyone will come up to Jerusalem, either to make war against God or to worship Him. Which side will you be on?

Divine appointments come in all sorts of surprising ways - including from being blocked in a parking space as this week's Maoz ministry relates brought a young Orthodox man into their offices. You will enjoy this story and it will also help you to see how Israel is being reached with the good news by personal, individual contact. In the nations, a big 'revival tent' might be right to answer the needs of the people, but in Israel, to answer the needs of the people takes the contact of Israeli Messianic Jews connecting with fellow Israelis in personal and genuine individual outreach. There is much cynicism toward the Gospel to overcome, as well as the need to see the life of Yeshua flowing in and through the lives of fellow Israelis (someone who really walks in the shoes of an Israeli Jew).

Katy Smith, who is the personal assistant of Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram, writes this weekly ministry letter to keep supporters up to date on what they are doing and the prayer needs of the ministry. She does a great job getting those things across, as well as giving an encouraging word to the read. Mazal tov on the #1000 Maoz ministry prayer letter. You can read more from this Tel Aviv ministry inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Israel Pochtar of the Ashdod Beit Hallel congregation is gearing up for humanitarian outreach during the upcoming Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets and Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles holidays.  This ministry does tremendous work among the new Russian immigrants who have only been in the country about 3 months. The integration for them into the Israeli society is quite an uphill battle, but Beit Hallel and their Voice of Judah Ministries works continually to bring them the basic humanitarian needs of life, as well as prayer and ministry to them. Read more about this exceptional work of the Lord in Israel inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries  [I will say that because of the effectiveness of this ministry, they have often been the target of religious harassment. Let them know you are standing with them.

The Karem El, or God's Vineyard congregation is a daughter congregation to the Mt Carmel congregation that was founded by David Davis. David has gone on to the Lord but both of these congregations and several outreaches also founded under Davis, continue on through the sabra leadership of Daniel Sayag. Inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries you can read about the increase that is occurring within the Karem-El congregation, including two new ministry coordinators for their childrens' and young adults ministries. There are all sorts of activities going on for the women of the congregation, for teaching the children on Shabbat, congregational fun says before the return to school and a special guest speaker from a supporting church in the US. Read more about how God is giving increase and get their prayer requests inside the Weekly Summary.

Pastor Najeeb and Elisabeth Atteih are Lebanese pastors in Haifa who also run a Bible Book store, a ministry to the Arab soldiers serving in the IDF, ministry to the refugees from the Syrian war and many other forms of outreach in northern Israel. We first learned of the Atteih's when Ruth Nessim in Nahariya lost her husband and was in dire need for a pastor to take over in Albert's stead in their congregation.  After no one stepped forward, Najeeb did and they became fast friends. Najeeb is no longer pastoring the Hebrew congregation but they remain ministry partners in other ways.  I am sharing this background to let you know that now in the hour of Najeeb's health need, we need to be aware of the ways he has stepped out greatly over the years - not just to his fellow Arabs, but also to Ruth and to the Israeli Jews who come into their shop, or just into their lives as one touching testimony they share this month. I urge you to read about Najeeb's situation which is going to demand surgery in October as well their other ministry news.  Ruth Nessim, as always, has helped in composing this ministry letter which you can read inside the Weekly Summary attachment

From Revive Israel, an article by Asher Intrater, High priest of our faith on the ministry titles that clarigy roles and functions, but are all reflections of Yeshua, the great Rabbi, Priest and Apostle.  Asher also shares  in a video about how Ben Gurion airport recently broke its record for 100,000 visitors in one day. Asher talks about what this means for Israel.

Also from Revive Israel , a short piece on Ushpizin, by Tal, the name of a very Jewish town in western Poland that is more commonly known as Auschwitz.  And the remaining US tour dates of Revive Thailand's Amir Mark.

It has been a while but we have some news from Eitan Shishkoff who oversees the Tents of Mercy network of five congregations in northern Israel  this week.  Eitan's personal assistance shares about the children's camp for the network in Not so Hidden Treasure and another report is given on the Katzir teen camp and conference this summer, Each and Every One.  Also, the international Liaison for the Tents of Mercy network, Marty Shoub in Canada, gives his testimony in Marty's Story - A Jewish New-Ager from Montreal Finds Messiah

From the Kfar Saba Hamaayan congregation (Wellspring) which is led by Tony and Orna Sperandeo, Sally Shiff shares about the many aspects of life in their congregation - from the teens summer camp to the opportunities for YOU to be an intern or volunteer at their congregation  while in Israel. It takes an application, but you can read all about that, plus their Taglit program for next year which entails a 2 week time of serving and learning, plus some sightseeing too. Find it inside the Weekly Summary attachment. Also, I love the tribute of a mother and daughter who are long time members of the Hamaayan congregation - how they financed a car for the daughter, as well as a family reunion trip to Germany entirely through "just saving empty cans and bottles, at about 3 cents USD at a time". What an inspiration to set your sights and use what you have until you can get what you need. You will enjoy reading the story inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Evan and Maala Thomas in Netanya at the Beit Asaph congregation send their greetings and talk about the upcoming Fall Feasts which begin on Sep 21, and walk us through the major events of their past summer including a "Bridge Builders" reconciliation initiative in Norway; a ministry trip for Maala and Miriam of the congregation to Uganda; ministry pastoral colleague Lev's trip with Beit Asaph youth to Switzerland for a "crossing cultural boundaries" initiative; and Maala and Evan's trip to Germany with  an Arab Christian brother from Nazareth, and two German leaders from Philippus Ministry, who sponsored the initiative, led a team of German and Arab Christians and Israeli Messianic believers in a program of Apologetics.  Do you get the impression this ministry is deeply focused on reconciliation ministry? Then you are right! Read all about it Inside the subscription only Attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

They write, "At a national level we are grateful for some respite from war and the level of terrorism, which usually accompanies our hot summer season. We use the term, "respite" because we are under no false illusions that the social and security issues that are inseparable from our endemic conflicts in the Holy Land have disappeared. They have not and your prayers are needed. The wonderful work that the Lord is doing in our midst with building understanding and relationships among Palestinian and Israeli brothers and sisters in faith gives us a glimpse of what the Lord wants to see in the land and this encourages us greatly."

Ruth Nessim of the Or HaGalil, Light of the Galilee congregation,  and mentioned earlier in the report from Najeeb and Elisabeth Atteih, apologizes for the extra short update this month:  "Having not felt well since my bout with Salmonella, which followed several months of Bronchitis, I decided not to travel to America or Europe, but stay at home with my air-conditioning! Besides which, my house has been full of people from Europe and the States, and they are still coming. Apart from a short break in August and the first week in September, I am booked up until the end of November." She also writes about Najeeb and "his serious sickness". Please pray for this dear lady, and also for Najeeb.

Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate gives us an update on something you may have seen reported in the Israeli news about two Messianic Jews being denied marriage. The couple are from the Tiferet Yeshua congregation where Ron also serves. He sets some of the facts straight and helps us to understand exactly what was going on, in Messianic Jews Denied Marriage in Israel  Also read about the matching funds challenge and where they are on it for the expansion of the congregational facility inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Kobi and Shani (Sorko-Ram) Ferguson give a short update on their doing in the Yeshua Israel and Israel Prayer Tower ministry in Jerusalem.  A big part of their summer (besides moving to a new home in a safer side of the city), recording new Hebrew worship projects, and helping needy families, they also write about the opportunity they had to help Israeli kids in a multi-sports camp that also included learning more about God. Read about it inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Lastly, KehilaNews.com share this article about Israeli Messianic pastors share in Singapore about life in Israel. The Israeli pastors were Howard Bass of Nachalat Yeshua (Inheritance of Yeshua) in southern Beer Sheva and Guy Cohen of Katzir Asher (Harvest of Asher) in northern Acco.

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 8/30/2017

As the 16th Anniversary Month of Israelprayer comes to an end I have a few thoughts to share:  In the summer of 2001 I worked for a large Jewish Christian ministry in Dallas. In August I decided to leave that ministry, as I had increasing frustration about being able to see more connection with the Israeli Messianic ministries taking place.  I put in my notice and started the Israelprayer ministry at the same time. I started a new job - completely secular - on September 10th just a few weeks after starting to compile the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries. Israel was in the midst of the Second Intifada and besieged with criticism from the nations who somehow found a way to blame Israel for all the suicide bombing attacks on Israeli citizens.
Then 9/11 happened and the world opinion changed - for at least a short period the whole world was alarmed by the monster of Islamic terrorism. Israel did not waste the momentum and soon launched Operation Defensive Shield in the Spring of 2002. These were large counter-terrorism operations clearing out bomb making factories and stockpiles in an attempt to staunch the flow of suicide bombing terror attacks.  At the time the Palestinians had been arresting and torturing many Christian Arabs, some who died in captivity, so along the way the IDF was freeing these prisoners from captivity.  I kept abreast of that aspect of the operations through the ministry letters of David Ortiz in Ariel who worked extensively with Christian Arab pastors.
We saw incredible answers to prayers we were able to pray specifically regarding as Messianic believers were often so near to terrorist attacks that whole period. But something happened after those days, the more I read the ministry letters from the Israelis, the more I realized that God was not just raising up prayer for Israel's protection against enemies, but that the increase of the body of Messiah in Israel was His ultimate "protection plan" for Israel. God's plan was not just for reactionary prayer, or defensive prayer, but it was for the purpose of pro-active prayer, for the raising up of Israel's real protection: salvation of Israelis.
That strong conviction remains with me today. Also, as the whole world now has to fight (or not!) Islamic terrorism, and also that we as believers have much to learn about how God will see us through, just as He has miraculously preserved Israel and will continue to do so.  I am thankful for all of you who are taking this journey with me through this prayer letter and for all of those who are making their own connections to the body in Israel, who are key to God's plan for us in more ways than we know. God bless them and us! Real connections to the body in Israel is the priority issue for the international body of Christ. We must get in right alignment, connected to the body in Israel as one new man in Messiah. - Donna Diorio, August 30. 2017

Rachel and Gilad Netanel who are evangelists in Ein Karim, outside of Jerusalem being this week with the timely message that "It is sometimes in the midst of our darkest hours that the Lord performs His most awesome miracles." Rachel share three such trials that God turned to good in their life and ministry over the past month. If you have never opened the Weekly Summary and read the ministry report of Rachel Netanel, a native Israeli and former police officer in Jerusalem, I urge you to do so. Rachel and Gilad are evangelists in the Israeli way of sharing with those they meet - over meals served with genuine hospitality and good will towards all that God draws their way - which are many! Like in this month's letter a simple invitation to come for the Friday evening Kabbalah Shabbat often blossoms into dinner for 65 - 55 of them being non-believers.  It will be an eye opener to you about how Israelis share the good news with other Israelis and how that breaks out of the box of what we in the church might consider how to be an evangelist. From Revive Israel, a new article by Asher Intrater on the Hebrew Roots of Ordination.  Also a report from Revive Team member Cody Archer on the "records of the number of international groups and individual guests who have pre-arranged their visit to our ministry center in Yad Hashmona. The primary reasons they are coming is to join us is to connect with local Israeli believers and join one of our mornings of worship, prayer, and teaching. Every year this number continues to grow! In 2016, we had a total of 1001 organized visits with another 300+ guests arriving without prior communication."

Understand that this is not just a matter of counting heads, but it is part of the distinct vision of the Tikkun-related ministries to embrace the Christians from the nations who are coming up to Jerusalem to make connection with the body of Messiah in the Land of Israel.  This connection is key to what comes next. The Hebrew congregation in Arad, Hasdey Yeshua, or Mercy of Yeshua, writes about the sizzling hot summer in their Negev desert town. The meeting place they have currently is not air conditioned and that has been potentially dangerous heat for many of their small children, elderly and infirm. ... What this congregation really needs is financial support to get into a property they already have their eyes on and have been raising funds for.  Please read more about their situation and also about, "Why are the Hassidei Gur (ultra-orthodox sect) so violent? Many factors are involved, especially religious spirits" inside the Weekly Summary attachment

The Maoz Ministries of Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram in Tel Aviv send this article by Ron Cantor, Three Things Jews Are Doing to Arabs That Will Shock You. Also an update on their matching funds grant as they are raising funds to expand the Tel Aviv Tiferet Yeshua congregation.  Read about it inside the Weekly Summary attachment

After many years of invitations from the YWAM base in Hawaii, Avi and Chaya MIzrachi have finally been able to accept the invitation this year and the family are excited to go minister about God's heart regarding Israel and the nations. Their Adonai Roi congregation and Dugit Team team in Tel Aviv ask prayers for the ministry trip. See inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Ben Juster is the Operations Director for Tikkun Intl, the ministries affiliated with the organization formed about 40 years ago between Daniel Juster, Eitan Shishkoff and Asher Intrater. Today the network has expanded greatly and is pressing into the vision God has given them for the ultimate connections to be made between believers in the nations and the believers in Israel.  With the prayer requests from Ben this month, you can get a stronger understanding of the scope of this ministry network which is headquartered in Jerusalem, located in various regions of Israel, and spreads to many affiliates in the nations - including Tikkun America where it all started 40 years ago. Please read the prayer requests shared inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Fresh off of a time in Switzerland that was sponsored by the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem, Eddie and Jacker Santoro write, "We were a small group of Arab and Jewish leaders from Israel along with representatives of the leadership team of the ICEJ from Europe and Taiwan. In all we numbered around forty+ adults and children of all ages. . . The unity that we felt during our time in Switzerland seems to be a part of a major move of God that is being brought forth in this day as we work together to establish the "One New Man"; consisting of Jews and Gentiles who love the Lord, love each other, love Israel and respect and honor the unique and individual call each one has."

Santoro also writes about the soon coming Fall Feasts of Israel and all the events they will be taking part in across the many feast dates. This is one of the busiest seasons for the ministries of Israel as they are not only observing the Fall Feasts in their congregations and families, but also with a huge surge of Christian tourists attending events that are scheduled the whole holiday season. These are blessed but hectic times and most of all, these are APPOINTED times of salvation for the Jewish people. Many open doors to hearts that we can all pray about. Read about each of the upcoming feast events in the Santoro's letter inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Israel Pochtar gives a great report on their AWAKE '17 National Youth Conference: " What an amazing 3-day event! This conference was filled with God's presence. it was truly a Yeshua-extravaganza with young people signing up and coming from all over Israel. Our goal was not only to stir them up, but to challenge them, their thinking, their vision and way of life."  Read more inside the Weekly Summary attachment also where you can find details on how to be involved with their Back-to-School project, providing for 200 children from families in need.

There is so much need all around us. We can't respond to every need, but we can respond to one. Let's make a difference as God leads us to invest in the lives of others.

Praying the Headlines

From KehilaNews.com:
US report pans Israel's treatment of Messianic Jews, Christians | Kehila News Israel Staff | While Israel touts itself as one of the few countries in the Middle East with freedom of religion, in its annual International Religious Freedom Report the U.S. State Department criticized the Jewish state for its lack of progress in expanding religious freedom.

To read the annual US State Dept Religious Freedom Report, which assesses all nations each year, read the Israel-specific portion of the report here.

Also, you have probably heard about the hurricane & flooding catastrophe that has hit the southern part of my state. Actually, as the heart of the USA's energy hub, the Texas Gulf Coast disaster is going to create huge economic impact for the whole United States.  The destruction of Houston, Texas is going to be years in rebuilding. It is the 4th largest city in the US and the losses there are hard to measure.  Still in rescue mode, the damages are already understood to have surpassed the damage done to New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina.  We appreciate your prayers.

We would also like to make you aware that there is a coalition of Messianic ministries in Texas who have risen up to help the Messianic congregations that have been hard hit by the hurricane and flooding aftermath.  The MJBI, Messianic Jewish Bible Institute is heading coalition the humanitarian aid for the Gulf Coast Messianic Jewish community.  MJBI is joining with Baruch HaShem Messianic Synagogue in Dallas, the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, and Jewish Voice Ministries to raise funds and support local relief efforts for these two Houston congregations.

Eddie was first diagnosed with  a brain tumor two years ago in August which did not look as if he could live through. He did and then a year later he also  survived a throat cancer to the glory of God.  Praise God who has given Eddie the victory over both and infused Eddie with a zeal to pray for others needing healing.  A seasoned preacher and one of the men responsible for mentoring many of the current generation of Messianic leaders in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, please contact me to Eddie's contact information for potential speaking in your area.
