WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 3/14/2018

Priority Prayer Focus

We always raise the awareness against terror attacks and wars around the biblical holidays that Israel observes. The spiritual enemy stirs special hatred of these "appointed" seasons by God for the Jews - these are appointed times for the opening of eyes and ears to the truth about the Messiah of Israel as depicted in ALL of the biblical  FEASTS of the LORD.

Yesterday an alarm-raising news release from Israel's Defense Ministry confirmed yet another reason along with troubling recent news headlines, to raise the prayer level again. The news release was of an attempt to smuggle into Gaza both IDF uniforms and fatigues, as well as Mercury which can be used in bomb making. Since Israel is now in preparations for the coming Passover holiday, this smuggling attempt raises red flags about plans in progress to do terror attacks soon. Thank God the security inspectors were suspicious and stopped the materials from being secreted into the hands of Gaza terrorists.

Please step up prayers for God's protection over all the attempts of the enemy to steal, kill and destroy throughout the holiday season. You will see in the Praying the Headlines section that the threat to Israel is not only terrorism, but also war. Enemies surround and it is a matter of time before the next battle begins.

First up there are a dozen places left open for the Taglit HaMaayan special training/tour set for June 25 thru July 4th. This is a tour that focuses on teaching you why Israel still matters to God and your role as fellow heirs of His inheritance.  For more information contact see inside the subscription-only, attached Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Lots of great news from Daniel and Shirya Yahav from the Peniel Fellowship in Tiberias, and they also include a link to a free Messianic Haggada in 5 languages, available to be downloaded and printed which they wrote for " use at our fellowship, and it is incorporating the elements of the Passover meal with their fulfillment in the New Covenant."

In other news, reports of how they and congregants are able to express their faith to those who ask;  the newly renovated school completion in a building they have been using as a school for the past 30 years (!); prayer requests for their ongoing need for a larger congregational meeting place; and also for the book Daniel has been writing "about the life story of his father, combined with the testimony of his own life, portraying the physical and spiritual restoration of Israel. The third and fourth part of the book contain a message to the people of Israel as well as the nations, about what the future holds for us, according to Bible prophecy. Now it is finally coming to conclusion, and we would appreciate your prayers for wisdom on how to proceed with publishing this book, and also for protection from the enemy, as we feel there is a spiritual battle involved with getting this book out."

The Kerem-El (God's Vineyard) congregation is a daughter planting from the Mt Carmel congregation in northern Israel.  Their news includes several congregational gatherings - the annual meeting held to look at the vision for the year ahead, a Shabbat dinner they hold as a congregation several times a year to get to know each other better; Purim events and a new series they are beginning to study 1 John., which they invite you to follow and listen to (in Hebrew) on Kerem-El's SoundCloud channel. You can also find the Kerem-El prayer points inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Orna Grinman whose Ot Oo’Mofet (A Sign & An Example) is a ministry to orphans, widows and single parents in the body of Messiah in Israel, primarily communicates with supporters through a blog where she publishes articles of things on her heart. We have found her articles to be excellent - especially ministering to the things that hurt us. See two new blog posts Lifting Up the Cross – A Report From Magdala’s Encounter and Your Blood Upon Us and Our Sons

The weekly prayer letter from Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram of Maoz ministries (actually the last two combined) focus on how "Israel went through a whirlwind of political dramas.  Up until yesterday evening there was a possibility that we will, again, have early elections.  I will not get into all the details, but this mainly had to do with a law regarding army service of ultra-Orthodox men and Israel's 2019 budget.  After days of bickering, public threats to dissolve the government, and games of ego, members of the coalition reached an agreement, and so this administration continues. ... I don't have to tell you what government instability brings with it.  Especially in Israel, this is costly (elections are not an economy booster here), distracting (no government=nothing gets done), and dangerous (we are surrounded by enemies)."  Read more, including prayer points inside the Weekly Summary attachment.

For the prior week from Maoz, the focus was on "unity in the body of Messiah which is the catalyst for love. Theological differences, various opinions about the desire and/or importance of keeping the Jewish traditions, should or should we not keep the Torah—all these can disrupt this unity, and sadly, this division still exists all around the world." Amen. Read more inside the attachment.

Eddie and Jackie Santoro of the Ahavat (Love of) Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem are currently on a US tour, one to see family members in the New York area, their congregation they started there nearly 30 years ago, and speaking at congregations in the US until they depart for Israel again later this month.  The Santoro's went through a high stress health issue when over 2 years ago Eddie was diagnosed with an especially aggressive brain cancer which doctors did not expect him to live through.  Having read his prayer letters throughout the cancer battle - including a completely separate cancer that rose up  1 year into the brain cancer fight - I did not know the half of the intensity of what they faced. Eddie literally has lived the declaration of Psalm 118:17 - "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD." Healing prayers for people has become his passion in declaring the works of the LORD. Read more inside the Weekly Summary attachment ...and be watching for the announcement of his upcoming booklet on this battle which will inspire and encourage.

From Revive Israel, an article from Asher Intrater:  Mighty Wind All Night One of the greatest victories of Moses was the crossing of the Red Sea. (I believe that Yeshua was also with him at that time as the Angel YHVH in the pillar of fire.) It was a situation that involved intense pressure and a possible disaster. A short video teaching Two Types of Lies from Asher on how some lies are easier to identify because of their content and can be confronted with facts. But there is another kind of lie that is more subtle and much more dangerous. Barry and Batya Segal of the Jerusalem News Network will hold a 70th birthday celebration for Israel in Ft Mill, SC on June 16 - see details inside the Weekly Summary attachment.  They also send summaries of news articles on "Netanyahu Receives Hero's Welcome at AIPAC" and Netanyahu telling many in Washington, D.C. to “Fix the Iran Deal or Cancel It”. Also an article in which U.S. Ambassador to Israel told AIPAC "Trump Made ‘Historic’ Changes to USA-ISRAEL Relationship  Read the summaries inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Last, but certainly not least, from the superb website of the Messianic community in Israel, KehilaNews.com , here are but a few of the items of interest this week:

Thirty Arab and Jewish Pastors attend conference: “A Dangerous Calling” | On February 22nd, 2018, Israel College of the Bible wrapped up the third such senior pastors’ conference for all the graduates of the Masters program, held at a hotel in Hadera, on the coast of Israel.

Trump, Netanyahu tracking, PA rejecting | by Tzippe Barrow | For all intents and purposes, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appear to be tracking together on most issues.

New Heavens and new earth | Dan and Dalia Alon | God has given people the right of personal choice to decide between heaven and earth, between life and death, between the blessing and the curse (Deut. 30:19). That right of choice is personal

Urgent HEALING Needs
Life and Death is in the power of the tongue

Please see
inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary to keep in prayer the Israeli ministry leaders and believers with urgent health needs including the fight for their very lives:

The Kfar Saba Wellspring (Hamaayan) Congregation is asking prayer for their members suffering from cancers | Rick Ridings daughter, Esther Moore continues to need prayer in her ongoing battle with cancer. Now part of the Succat Hallel staff, there are encouraging signs in her healing. | Eduardo, an elder in the Beer Sheva Yeshua's Inheritance congregation, has been bed-ridden with a newly discovered  congenital spinal defect which has him in severe back pain. He has already outlived the typical 25-yr life statistic and also has been able to father three children. Please pray for this serious condition: a healing miracle from God |  Olga Bikas continues to suffer from chronic, acute back pain. She is getting medication and physiotherapeutic treatments but without any substantial improvement, doctors are now beginning to talk about surgery| Lebanese Christian Pastor Najeeb Attieh had two surgeries on his thighs & a hip replacement Pray for full recovery| Rick Ridings daughter, Esther Moore, miracle needed for cancer battle |  PLEASE CONTINUE PRAYER FOR for HaMaayan congregant Danny Meyuseff suffering poor health on several fronts,  David Ortiz, Ami Ortiz, Ruth Nessim| LONG TERM BATTLES |  David Stern,  David, Leah and Ami,  Moshe M.;  Michael E, Claude Ezagouri; Baruch & Karen Maayan, Judy, wife of pastor Yaakov K.

FYI from Donna: Update on my husband, Tony. He is doing well and at the end of April the orthopedic surgeon will set a date to do Tony's neck surgery for severe spinal stenosis. He said we will wait for the time frame the cardiologist wanted for the Brilinta to be established unless Tony begins to show neurological  symptoms in which case go to a certain hospital and surgery will happen immediately. The neurological symptoms he described were extreme - so of course we pray nothing like that happens between now and the controlled time for surgery (having come off the antiplatelets for surgery).    We have a lot of confidence in the surgeon, still it is concerning with the new heart stent. Last week one of our 4 dogs also suffered a heart attack! We now have him on heart medications and he is doing an encouraging turnaround, now I'm concerned about his brother who has demonstrated the same symptoms which we didn't understand were heart-related. He is next up for a heart check up. It has been a stressful month here to say the least! Thanks for your prayers.

Praying the Headlines

Why Christians Support Israel | by Dennis Prager | March 6 2018 on National Review | In speeches to fellow Jews around America, I often point out that many American Jews are experiencing cognitive dissonance. The institution Jews most admire — the university — turns out to be the most significant source of Israel hatred in America and the rest of the West. At the same time, the people many Jews most distrust — Christians (especially Evangelical and other conservative Christians) — turn out to be the Jews’ and Israel’s best friends.

Given that these two facts are undeniable, how do many American Jews deal with this dissonance? They largely ignore the Israel hatred on campuses, and they dismiss the authenticity of the Christian support. They dismiss it by denying it is genuine. Christians who support Israel, they (and non-Jews on the left) argue, do so for two deceptive reasons.  Read more online by clicking the linked title.

Trump's Mideast Peace Plan Is Nearly Finished | NYTimes 3/11/2018 | "...the quickening pace of activity inside the White House suggests that, regardless of the political headwinds, Mr. Trump will soon unveil a detailed blueprint that one of his senior aides said was intended to help Israelis and Palestinians get around traps and bottlenecks to an agreement. The aide likened it to Waze, the navigation software, developed by Israelis, that helps drivers bypass traffic jams.

"....the plan will not call for a two-state solution as one of its goals, though it will prescribe pathways for the creation of two states. Nor will it call for a “fair and just solution” for Palestinian refugees, though it will offer steps to deal with the issue of refugees."

Under shadow of Hezbollah’s growing arsenal, Israeli home front gets busy | Yaakov Lappin for JNS/Jewish News Syndicate | With more than 120,000 projectiles aimed at Israel, the possibly next conflict with Hezbollah will test Israeli civilian preparedness like never before.

Iran provokes Israel with network of Syrian bases | The Times of UK | Israeli military intelligence and satellite technology have identified at least ten Iranian military bases in Syria as the threat of war between the two rises.

A Prophetic Vision for us to prayerfully consider

Rick Ridings of Succat Hallel | The Lion of Judah, Jerusalem and the Nations | A Vision Received by Rick Ridings of Succat Hallel in Jerusalem | As we were worshipping in Succat Hallel, I saw the majesty and sovereignty of the Lion of Judah, as He sat on a Throne above the Temple Mount.  He was so perfectly calm, so absolutely in control.  He had been watching for a long time to the North, South, East, and West as thousands of small demons had been frantically building wooden bridges to Jerusalem.

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 3/7/2018

Priority Prayer Focus Mar 7, 2018

For the past couple of months I have had the privilege of reading a book-in-progress by Eddie Santoro about the spiritual journey and battle for life after he was diagnosed a couple of years ago for an extremely severe brain cancer. God really knows what we are going to need because soon after I began reading my husband's health came into great jeopardy between the need for surgical intervention for severe spinal stenosis and with a heart attack requiring a second stent.  These have been unnerving situations to juggle, but Eddie's own spiritual journey which was even more severe, has been a timely encouragement to me.

This morning I am waiting to hear from a dear lady from Mississippi who is a strong intercessor for Israel.  Debra Koen Abernethy just received a miracle after waiting for over a year for a lung transplant for the pulmonary fibrosis she had. Debra had made her peace with the potential of passing into eternity but she was holding out hope for the abundant life of God to keep on living His life abundantly here.  She got the call to come to the hospital in Louisiana for the transplant two days ago and had the transplant yesterday. The 12-hour procedure was completed in half that time. Now we wait to hear the report that Debra is again breathing easy - praise the Lord.

This morning we have even had to make an emergency visit to our veterinarian as one of our beloved dogs began to suffer from severe respiratory distress overnight. My 'nerves' have been a little frayed with visits to the ER, the cardiologist, the orthopedic surgeon...the vet!  Tony will have his neck surgery probably the first week of May.

We have a section each week devoted to prayer requests for those who are suffering health battles among the Israeli ministries - and there are even more not specifically mentioned with health needs in the congregations. Please pray for God's healing to flow and for the release of a strong healing prayer anointing among the faithful followers of Yeshua in Israel.

Opening this week are two week's worth of reports from Martin and Norma Sarvis in Jerusalem. First Norma writes about the important discoveries related to the prophet Isaiah that have occurred at significant times in the modern history of Israel. There was news in the past couple of weeks of the latest discovery that is being called, the Isaiah seal. Read Norma's backgrounder and thoughts on the latest discovery announcement withIsrael's 70th year since declaring their statehood.

Martin speaks of the season of "gates" being opened in Israel in the Spirit. Spiritually, there are big changes taking place and Martin briefs us on what those are and how to pray in light of it.

Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate has 4 new articles - with a video attached to this one: Billy Graham and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit | A Story You Have Probably Never Heard. The other three are: Three Powerful Points on Purim | Bravery, Blessing and Bad Behavior | Does the Holy Spirit Still Work Today? Why Some Claim the Gifts are no Longer Needed | The Theology of Joy Behar | View Co-Host mocks faith of Vice President

Michael and Dina Beener have a congregation that is roughly translated City of Life in Sderot, an Israeli city that has been hard hit for years by missile fire out of Gaza terrorizing the citizens inhabiting Sderot. The congregation name, City of Life, or of the Living, is in direct opposition to what the terrorist group Hamas calls Sderot, a city of the dead. The Beener's are speaking life over the people of Sderot, and we speak life over their labor of love in a city where the poor people who live there are shell shocked and suffering PTSD. I'm sure many would move if they could, but we are speaking of a level of poverty here as well. Please pray for the city, for the Beener's ministry and outreach to the needy. If you would like to help them financially, you will find their contact information (as all the ministries featured in this prayer summary), inside the Weekly Summary attachment.

From the Arad Hebrew congregation, Hasdey Yeshua, they report on a special time of study together with other Israeli congregational leaders at the Israel College of the Bible. It took place in mid-February and about 40 members of their congregation atended when one of the Arab brothers who participated also came to speak at the Beer Sheva congregation led by Howard Bass.  They write of the service with Pastor Khalid, "Our worship team led the combined congregations in singing praises to the Lord, the elders prayed for each other before Pastor Khalid spoke. Then everyone shared a meal together afterwards —believers from every background and ethnicity. It was a true taste of heaven!"

They also write about developments with the Hassidei Gur cult that has for many years caused much havoc in the city of Arad. The developments were noted by an Orthodox financial website in Israel recently: "According to the article, the Housing Committee of the Gur have decided not to send any more yeshiva students to Arad. Keep in mind that these “students” are young, able-bodied but non-working adult men, most of whom are married and have many children. Although they subsist on government welfare, the financial condition of the 'students' already living in Arad is quite desperate; in fact, the Gur have invested large sums for distribution of bread and milk to them several times per week. In addition, according to the article, there are now one thousand Gur families on a waiting list to purchase apartments, but can no longer afford to do so because housing prices have increased. When the Gur began arriving in Arad, secular residents were afraid that the city would be taken over by them and fled, many selling their apartments for less than they were worth. No more! Especially in the last year, seculars have for the most part refused to sell, and so the Gur have had to set their sights on another city." Find more to pray in reference to these developments  inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Benjamin Juster, in his role as operations directory for Tikkun International, writes with prayer requests for Eddie and Jackie Santoro are ministering in the United States this month.  Please pray for deep relationship connections and for God's anointing on their times of ministry. Pray for strength and health
for the duration of their travels. And for Asher Intrater and Ariel Blumenthal will be flying to Korea in March.

From the Adonai Roi congregation and Dugit Messianic outreach led by Avi & Chaya Mizrachi: Chaya and Devora traveled to speak at the First Nations Leadership Summit in California. They write, "Representatives from First Nations were in Israel for the Welcoming the King of Glory conference last year. We are excited to see that the relationship is continuing. Chaya and Devora gave a report from the conference and general updates from Israel. Devora was able to address the youth directly and even prayed for many of them." Please continue to pray for these developing relationships.

Chaya is traveling to Holland for a women's conference and asks for prayers over that, they also invite you to " Read our latest news online here and we also invite you to follow us on Facebook!"

Howard Bass writes, that having "have just finished celebrating Purim (from the Scroll/Book of Esther in the Bible) and are looking towards Passover at the end of this month. From one Full Moon to the next, with a New Moon right in the middle. This New Moon marks the beginning of the Biblical Israeli year, which lays out YHVH God's plan of redemption, pointing to and focused on the Messiah of God, Himself YHVH who came to us in the person of the Son of God -- Yeshua/Jesus." We see preparations for the Passover gearing up throughout the Israeli ministries. Please pray for them as this is a prophetic holiday that not only speaks to the sacrifice of Yeshua for the sins of mankind, but also to the appointed season of Israel's salvation in the last days.  This is an important time to pray for the opening of spiritual eyes throughout the Jewish world.

Howard also writes, "For those interested in a Messianic Passover Haggadah ('the telling' of the story), I have written one back in the 80's, and it is available in English, Hebrew, Russian, and Spanish." You can also read Howard's thoughts on the funeral of Billy Graham

David Decker is a longtime pastor in Israel, a Christian Zionist, who heads the Israel Justice Alliance. Read about a couple of cases they are working on now related to citizenship issues. "As Biblical Zionists, we see this unwritten policy of discrimination by the Interior Ministry as a contradiction of Isaiah 35: 4-6, which deals with, among other things, the return of ALL the precious Jewish people to the Promised Land: “Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come...".  Read more about what the IJA are doing inside the subscription-only, attached Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Sally Shiff, from the Kehilat Hamaayan congregation in Kfar Saba shares a short praise report on a healing miracle she has been praying over for a friend. She writes about a new prompting toward doing the work of an evangelist, and also a report from events which took place over Purim. "During the Fast of Esther, a group of Messianic Pastors gathered together in the Old City in Jerusalem to repent for our nation and welcome the King of Israel back to Jerusalem. The last person who got up was an Arab Christian thanking God to live in Israel and that Israel is a Jewish Nation." Also a new national group of intercessors meeting to pray for their nation. Read more inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Richard and Carolyn Hyde of the Heart of God Ministries give a report of their "recent journey to raise up more informed intercessors for Israel." From New York city to Guatemala and Panama, and then back to the U.S. in Detroit and back to Israel again. Carolyn writes, "Perhaps this may sound unconventional but our journeys usually begin with a dream that G-d sends and then right afterwards, He sends tour groups from those areas to our home, so G-d really knows how to set us up." Read more about their trip inside the Weekly Summary attachment .  You can also enjoy this Music Video of Carolyn's called You'll Arise

Just a few items from what is available on KehilaNews.com this week:

On February 22nd, 2018, Israel College of the Bible wrapped up the third such senior pastors’ conference for all the graduates of the Masters program, held at a hotel in Hadera, on the coast of Israel.

Many have wondered whether the passing of Billy Graham, at the age of 99 years old, is an indication that days of great spiritual harvest lie just ahead of us.

In Part 3 of KNI’s series on believing organizations that help the poor in Israel we highlight the humanitarian work of Christ Church Jerusalem Mercy Fund, One for Israel, Joshua Fund and Dugit.

The Israeli Messianic Marketplace  Feature of the Week:
The Joseph Project is the largest importer of humanitarian aid to Israel. In the coming spring Jim Schutz will be traveling around North America visiting churches and groups to speak about what this organization is doing, what it represents and how you can be part of the operations. If you would like to recommend a meeting to a circle of people, please do so and be in touch with us so we can coordinate the itinerary. Don’t miss this opportunity to talk about Israel, the Bible and humanitarian aid. Let us know earlier than later, so we can cover lots of ground between important networking encounters with partner organizations.

Helping Thousands | We wish to give you a better impression of how some of our major distributions take place. This month we did a massive event in the city of Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv. What happens behind the scenes? It starts with brainstorming between our staff and their officials. The municipality has budget considerations they need to figure out, and we have supply limitations. Who will be invited to the event? Who needs what furniture and why? Who will come at which time?
