The Love of the Truth

The Sea of Galilee by Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate

The Love of the Truth
by Donna Diorio

This morning I was wondering if we lived in a time where the truth was more threatened than any other time in history. I know there were dark times in the dark ages, when people where grossly ignorant but that was because of ignorance — they were kept in darkness. The Word of God was kept away from the common people, so how could they dwell in anything but darkness? They couldn't.

In the beginning God created Light. It was a Light that was different from the light of the sun, moon and stars. I believe it was the Light that is also the Truth, that brings the ability of mankind to see and choose the truth. In darkness men cannot make informed decisions because they are locked in the ignorance of darkness. John 1:1 tells us, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." So we see Yeshua, who is the Truth, the Light and the Word intertwined and inseparable.

In this day and age the Word of God is everywhere, yet there is a real battle for the truth around the world. Truth-believers appear to be in the minority. I am not just talking about the Gospel-truth —the capital T— but all truth is battling to be believed in the face of lying deceptions and false narratives. Truth is being overwhelmed in everyday life by those dedicated to propagandizing with lies. There is a battle for the truth on every level of life.

Why are so many people sucked into false narratives? I'm talking about Bible-believers. Why is deception having its way with people who should be able to discern the truth?

We live in a time that even the elect are being deceived, unable to tell the difference between facts and false narratives. They are getting swept up in the abundance of false narratives and are choosing that because they don't want to be bothered with the facts. They like the ground they've already staked out too much to let facts get in the way.

We live in a time spoken of by the prophet Daniel (12:4) "But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." Our knowledge is through the roof! It is everywhere, but ironically there are much fewer who love the truth.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 the apostle Paul wrote, "The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them." So "every wicked deception" is "directed against those who are perishing". Why? Because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them.

I have pondered this for many years now as I have been so disturbed over how many believers are so attached to conspiracy theories. It is vexing because lying deceptions are much more than just a difference of opinion. Facts do not care about opinions. We must be dedicated to a love of the truth - to the facts - not in placing our stake in the ground of opinions, of which many opinions are just false narratives.

I have followed news about Israel for near three decades. There is no greater victim of false narratives threatening the facts, the truth than Israel. No amount of countering the false narratives which are endless and relentless, has ever moved anyone who has chosen to believe the deception instead of searching for the facts and the truth. If they don't have a love of the truth, if God does not break through with a revelation of His thoughts about Israel, then they remain addicted to the lies they have been told about Israel.

In those three decades, I have seen this deep spiritual sickness spill out of the realm of Israel's existential battle, into the whole world. Truth is being battled on the streets and in the headlines on every continent at this point.

Even though we represent a minority of the people, we must choose a love of the truth and pursue it at every turn. This means not just in the big choices ('Do I believe in Jesus?') but also the little choices, do I believe prevailing narratives, or do I love the truth enough to search beyond the talking heads to learn the truth? Am I a fact-seeker?

Revive Israel's Asher Intrater, spoke a few years ago about a vision he had in 2009 about a cloud of deception that covered the earth which Yeshua was battling to get through. When he said this was the basis for Yeshua's question in Luke 18:8 ("... when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”) it was the first time that question made real sense to me.

As Asher explained it the cloud cover was formed by the demonic strongholds in the thinking of the people in that location. Where there was a heavenly mindset, there was an opening in the heavens (an "open heavens"); but where there was a demonic mindset in the people in that location, the clouds of deception were so thick it was as a deep spiritual smog.

This is what Daniel was praying through in Daniel 10 as he was trying to understand the spiritual warfare of the last days. Asher also pointed to Isaiah 25:7 "And He will destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations."

We are battling through a spiritual smog to reach people with the Truth. I have seen how it is a worthy thing to be a fact and truth teller in battles where false narratives have been promulgated. Those who love the truth will come to the facts, but those who are "in danger of perishing" are those who will not come. Not without something more. The only way to reach them is in the same way Daniel approached it: praying for the Light to break through the heavy smog of deception creating a veil over all the nations. This is our charge.

John 8:31-32
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Now this is what we call a result! Israel Pochtar writes that on the past weekend they took two full busloads of new believers (100 people!) up to the Jordan River to be baptized. He writes, "To gather so many people at once to get baptized is not a given, it was definitely the work of the Holy Spirit, because we never expected such an overwhelming response from people who kept signing up to get baptized in the Jordan River.  These are very special times we're living in! Despite the challenges and the work required to cultivate the fields, we can definitely see they are white for harvest, as Yeshua said. Without a doubt, this is the time to send in more workers into the fields, because the harvest is ready!" Hallelujah!

Also, Israel gives a short report on the gathering of pastors and leaders from all over the country to pray together for revival which they participated in, with Tom Hess in speaking, leading prayer and worship times. There is also a good report on the same event from Howard Bass in Beer Sheva on the Kehila News site called One in Messiah.  Pochtar has prayer requests in the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries including stepping out in faith to plant a new congregation in Ashkelon.

From Tikkun Global's Israel's Restoration newsletter Asher Intrater writes about a modern plague of how we are inundated with "pornography, abortion, sexual harassment, homo-les-bi-trans, divorce, adultery, pedophilia, carnal entertainment, seductive advertising and so on" in his article Me Too.

Also Dan Juster's Let Us Go With You about balance in Christians joining Messianic congregations and his book Passion for Israel which explores what distortions are blinding people from seeing the Jews as God sees them.  From Ron Cantor in the same newsletter: HOW? … “All Israel will be saved”

KehilaNews.com  has a very important article on a precedent setting judicial ruling that impacts Israeli Messianic congregations in a good way - including them in a tax break for prayer houses: Haifa Messianic congregation wins appeal against city decision to tax. Every penny counts when pennies aren't aplenty!   Also an article by Chava Stein, [Israeli Politics 101] Understanding Israel’s outpost and settlement phenomenon and from One for Israel, Changing attitudes in Israel: A new era

The "Team Edition" of Revive Israel includes a review of 2018 showing growth and how their supporters helped them in so many ways to fulfill the ministry. Also there is this report on how Revive sends out its team members to over 10 nations a year in Team Work. There are also 2 videos, Cody Archer and Roni Rejwan in How to Share Your Faith with Israelis and Dan Juster's The Return of Yeshua. Plus the must read book by Asher Intrater Alignment

Norma Sarvis writes this week about the upcoming time of ministry and fellowship for the women believers in Israel at the Bat Tzion—Daughter of Zion gathering at Kiryat Yearim. We have been sharing with you how you can help to sponsor this gathering - maybe not unusual for women's conferences where you are from, but very unusual for Israel - and they (the organizers Norma Sarvis and Chaya Mizrachi) are subsidizing the costs for all the participants! Please read more in the Weekly Summary and pray about donating  to the event Donations

Sally Shiff sends a short update on some of the spiritual warfare that has been going on in the HaMaayan congregation and closely related supporters. It certainly seems like an assignment of the enemy that is happening in the form of accidents and injuries.  (We have seen the same among Facebook friends of Israel - including myself with a weird back injury from a move that shouldn't have caused all that!). Please pray: No weapon formed against us shall prosper!

Arni and Yonit Klein write from Tiberias about another type of spiritual warfare against the people of God and that is coming in the arena of generational conflicts between the young and the old both in spiritual relationships and familial relationships.  They write, "Perhaps the most common means by which division occurs is by one generation passing judgment on the other. This phenomenon is often the result of misunderstanding the other’s actions and/or motives. As the realties and conditions of the generations differ, so do their perspectives and points of view. Adding to that, with how parents are often driven to make their children be like them, and children are driven to not be like their parents, we end up with a field ripe for the planting of the enemy. In the end, communications get twisted, hearts grow hard, and walls go up." It is good to take stock to see if we are contributing to the breakdown and move to heal, not hurt.

Yeshua Israel, Kobi & Shani Sorko-Ram Ferguson send Shira's article, Jerusalem’s Orthodox Jews vs. Eliezer Ben Yehuda and write, "Perhaps the only thing more beautiful than God restoring the Hebrew language just before He restored His people back to their homeland, is our ability now to bring God’s message of forgiveness and eternal life in the very language He originally spoke it. Ron Cantor sends a special prayer request along with the weekly news report you can get from him by subscribing to his mailings. The request is this: "Can I encourage you to take five minutes each day and focus your prayers on Israel's awakening? Cry out to God! According to Romans 11:12, Israel's acceptance will lead to a "greater riches" revival in the nations! Hallelujah!"  The lead story in his latest news mailing is regarding reports that the Trump peace plan seeks to divide Jerusalem and create a Palestinian state.  "However, the American administration says the report is inaccurate. “While I respect Barak Ravid, his report on Israel’s Ch. 13 is not accurate,” Jason Greenblatt, the White House special envoy for Mideast peace."  What will it be?  Ron also shared this video on his Facebook Page: Yariv Goldman shares at Nes v'Cafe on Repentance.

More news from Maoz Ministries: A terrorist sniper shot an IDF officer in the head on the border with Gaza. - but thanks to his protective helmet, the officer only sustained minor injuries! A real miracle. Also, while skiers enjoyed the great snow on Mt Hermon, the Syrians thought it would be a good day to fire a missile at the ski resort. The Israelis intercepted it but it certainly ratchets up the regional tensions.  Read more by connecting directly with the ministry, or by subscribing to the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

A good report from Elisheva Damkani for Jacob with exact answers to prayer for her last two major prayer requests for Jacob just last week! She is excited and thankful for the prayers and God's immediate answers to them for (1) an unexpected meeting with the rehab doctor she had received a recommendation for as the best in his field; and (2) the canula that doctors did not want removed (just in case) but Elisheva wanted removed so Jacob could talk, she has found a home doctor who will remove it. These are steps forward for Jacob's recovery...they may seem like little steps, but these are great strides for Jacob's path to recovery.

Please pray for her acute back pain. | Albert a Messianic leader from southern Israel, has had a successful surgery and an amazing recovery but keep praying for total restoration |  Rania Sayegh asks for prayer of restoration of strength, energy, and complete healing. In the Acco congregation: Prayer for 5 year old Leon is still very much needed. The head wound is not yet healed and the effects of trauma are increasing. Pray for his mother and siblings as the past months are taking their toll.

For those who doubt that all Scripture matters this is an astounding visualization of the textual cross references found in the Bible.

It is the collaborative work of Christoph Römhild who the defined more than 63,000 cross references in total, and Chris Harrison who designed the interactive visualization - click to explore so you can get the full impact of what you are seeing here.

Chris Harrison writes, "we wanted something that honored and revealed the complexity of the data at every level –- as one leans in, smaller details should become visible. This ultimately led us to the multi-colored arc diagram....The bar graph that runs along the bottom represents all of the chapters in the Bible. Books alternate in color between white and light gray. The length of each bar denotes the number of verses in the chapter. Each of the 63,779 cross references found in the Bible is depicted by a single arc - the color corresponds to the distance between the two chapters, creating a rainbow-like effect.

Arrows from Zion 1/16/2019 Haredim & Hilonim

Two iconic figures representing the
polar opposite worldviews of Israel:
Religious politician Aryeh Deri
& Secular atheist Amos Oz

The Haredim and Hilonim in Israel
& the Next Stage of Jewish Evangelism

A Guest Essay by Jim Melnick
info@frji.org

Israeli author Amos Oz’s passing at the end of December has served to highlight the importance of understanding the two worldview ‘poles’ or extremes of Jewish life today in Israel. These are between the haredim (the ultra-Orthodox) on the one hand and the hilonim (secular) on the other.  Indeed, the daily struggle in Israel between these two polar opposites largely defines the tempo of political life in Israel today.

Many secular Israelis have come to hate the haredim even while acknowledging that the latter comprise what they suppose is ‘true’ Judaism.  Likewise, many of the haredim
hate or despise secular Jews, whom they barely even consider to be Jews even though it was mostly secular Jews who founded the modern-day State of Israel. Secular Jews were the most ardent Zionists and even now put their lives on the line every day to protect the ultra-Orthodox and to preserve their way of life in a Jewish state. Talk about ingratitude! Or at least, that’s how many secular Israelis look at it.

Haredi Jews for the most part see secular Israelis as usurpers who jump-started creating a Jewish state that they think should only have been established by the Messiah. This is the tension of daily life in Israel and that tension is at the heart of the ongoing political struggle for the soul of Israel.

I purposely held back the January 4th ministry letter from Rachael and Gilad Netanel last week knowing that the focal point this week was going to be the extreme opposites of the Israeli ultra-religious and secular atheists. That is because I have been impressed over the last several years with Rachel's anointing to reach both groups of Israelis in such a natural way. She and Gilad open their home to hundreds, serving up Moroccan-Jewish hospitality and sharing their faith with whoever comes. Many do come and many receive; this is the sure sign of anointing to reach Israelis. Israelis are responding to the testimonies of Israeli followers of Yeshua.  Read the Netanel's full report in the Weekly Summary, or here on the Revive Israel Facebook post featuring Rachel and Gilad.

In Israel, ours is a support role, although reaching the Jewish people were we live is wide open. There is a special anointing to reach Israelis and I hope my subscribers are realizing that. Also, while Christians get most excited about evangelism among the religious, seeing them as people who are already closer to the righteousness of God, Jesus had something else to say. He told the Israeli religious leaders the parable of two sons, "Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you." (Mt 21:28-32)  Do not be surprised when it is the religious segment of Israel who are the last to enter the kingdom through Yeshua - and remember that all Jewish souls matter, not just the religious ones.

Shani and Kobi Ferguson of Yeshua Israel Ministries in Jerusalem share The Rise of the Sabra Believers. You know what a "sabra" is right? A person born in Israel. At this point, we have Israeli Messianic believers in Israel who were born there, and believe me,  this is higher  impact testimony to Israelis because a sabra believer has a built-in greater credibility to other sabra Israelis. You can understand this, right? It is the same in evangelizing peoples everywhere in the world, why would it be any different in Israel? Many have taken the idea that gentile Christians are the ones who will win Israelis to Jesus based on the Romans 11:11 verse that says "salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them [Israel] jealous," but is that really what that verse means. Obviously not, since sabra Israelis are responding to fellow Israelis in much greater numbers than to visiting Christians. Let's do this right: our support role in helping the Israeli ministries reach their countrymen is a privilege, not second class.

Stefen and Keren Silver are part of the young ministry families in the Mt Carmel congregrational family. Stefen is a pastor and elder at the Kerem-El congregation, and Keren is also deeply involved in that ministry. They are raising three small children and are deeply involved in the ministry in the Haifa area. They write about the recent outreaches, like the one in Oct and also the December Holiday of Holidays: "Israelis from all backgrounds are much more open to listen and talk about Yeshua than they were five or ten years ago. We are slowly seeing a change in the way Jewish people view Yeshua and know that many seeds were planted in peoples' hearts over the two evangelism weekends. We pray that God will keep working in their lives and that we'll see a great harvest from this cooperative work (of Haifa congregations)!"  Read more by connecting directly with the ministry, or by subscribing to the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Prayer requests from Maoz touch on the much needed rain that has begun to pour out in Israel, as well as a great primer on what is happening in the current elections to vote on Prime Minister. This explains how things work in their system and also provides prayer requests over the matters at hand.

From the Tikkun Global Israel's Restoration email, a couple of articles by Dan Juster that will be well worth digesting: Disdain for heritage Some Israeli believers have a strong disdain for traditional Judaism. This is often part of that orientation of secularism that speaks of the new Jew, rooted in the Land, speaking Hebrew, fighting in the Israeli army but not at all tied to Judaism. For some Jewish believers in Israel, Judaism is something to reject. This is a common attitude among secular Israelis, and the disdain in some seems to intensify when they receive the Gospel! Then such people add to their reasons for disdain that Judaism is the product of a people who have rejected Yeshua.  | Also Honoring the Son when desire for acceptance influences Messianic congregations to deny the deity of Yeshua . | Also from  Eitan Shishkoff God’s Heart in the Last Days | Guy Cohen Drawing Forth Water With Joy | Joel Jelski's report on the Katzir camp Cold Weather Brings Youth Together

Howard Bass writes about the regional "Tribe of Judah" joint service for believers from the southern Israeli Land. There were about 400 gathered - obviously not all the believers from the region but a nice turnout for "a time of encouragement, and for looking ahead to the breakthroughs that the Lord will yet do in our cities and region towards the salvation of many more souls through repentance and faith in the gospel now, and towards the salvation of 'all Israel' at the end of the age.  Please pray with us for spiritual breakthroughs, including the State of Israel allowing more Jewish believers to immigrate to Israel, and for Jews from Spain who may be descendants of Jews who were forced to convert to Christianity during the time of the Inquisition, and find it difficult to immigrate now that they discover that they are also Jewish."

Howard also shared Joel Rosenberg's video Joel's testimony on YouTube. Bass writes, "He now lives in Israel, and has done much through the Joshua Fund to be a gracious blessing here in the Body of Messiah at large. "

Elisheva Damkani has shared an update about Jacob on her Facebook page on January 13th. Read it there or in the Weekly Summary. The gist of the update is that she has brought Jacob home from the facility he was in. He is still not fully conscious, but "Jacob has become much more quiet, content, happy, the struggles became less, and he is much more part of the life around him since the day we came home." He may have suffered some trauma in rehab and is now scared when someone comes close to touch him. Elisheva requests prayers on these things, plus the removal of is breathing tube, since he is no longer in need of oxygen but doctors reluctant to take it out just yet, and for physiotherapy being done at home...and for the family and all involved. The Cave of Adullam

Priority Prayer Focus

This is not meant to be a doctrinal statement or to be understood as the primary contextual meaning of the verses in this article, but rather is my personal sense of what the Spirit is speaking prophetically. - Donna Diorio

The Cave of Adullam & the 3 Anointings of David

Throughout my life I have placed a high value on expressing myself as honestly as possible. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I have learned along the way that when we are open and vulnerable about what is really going on, it will cause two different reactions. One, it will open you to criticism, but two, it will make others open up about their own stuff honestly.

Thinking about this reminded me of 1 Samuel 22:1-2 "David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him."

That is the exact opposite of what most faith teachings emphasize to us today, where we are all supposed to keep upbeat and positive: 'No Debbie Downers, please!' So isn't it interesting that David, who had already been anointed by God in the sight of his family to be the King of Israel, would next have to flee to a stronghold where he was immediately joined by his family members, and soon after joined by 400 men, "all who were distressed or indebted or discontented."  This man on the run, drew men who were looking for a leader and they rallied to his stronghold in the cave of Adullam.

David didn't get to stay in that Messianic cave for long because, "the prophet Gad said to David, "Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah." So David left and went to the forest of Hereth." God did not anoint David to hole up in the safe place of a cave stronghold; He anointed him to go out and fight the battles of kings.

The Messianic movement emerged in the United States in the late 1960's-70's Jesus Movement. Indeed many of the young Jewish men and women who came to faith in the midst of that counter-culture generation of Baby Boomers, went on to form "a new thing". Many in the Christian world have not seen any good reason for a "messianic movement" to exist preferring that all Jewish believers merely lose the Jewishness and become good Christians.

It was God who was forming this new thing of identifiably Jewish followers of Jesus: "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19

Those young American Jewish men and women were God's building blocks. They established congregations and ministries in the United States, but then He called many of them to leave the safe place —  the cave of Adullam — and immigrate to Israel. There they would continue in their calling as ministers of the gospel of Israel's Messiah Yeshua. Are you tracking with me?

Prophetically, these leaders left their nice, safe American congregations and ministries to enter the land of Promise — the promise that their new life in Israel would be taxing! There would be much greater religious opposition, less financial stability and more challenges than they would ever come up against in the nice, safe stronghold of their 'cave of Adullam' of the Messianic Movement in the United States. Instead God called them out to go into the wilderness of Israel: 1 Samuel 22:5, "... So David left and went to the forest of Hereth."

There is something interesting about this word Hareth. First, there is no meaning given that I could find, but the word stems from another Hebrew word, Charath, which means to engrave. Charath is only used once in the Bible and that is in Exodus 32:16, "And the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven H2801 upon the tablets."

Living Stones. Living Letters. Living tablets engraved by the writing of God, and a work of God Himself. God did not want the Messianic Jewish faith to remain in the stronghold, in the places where it was safe to be a Jewish believer in Yeshua, He wanted them out in the wilderness of Israel where they would walk as living engravings, the work of God in the midst of a people God promised to return to with grace and favor.

The 3 Anointings of David
David was anointed three times to be the King of Israel before he became the king over all Israel. These are all brand new thoughts, so please bear with me as I try to express it.  Continues online at Fruit of the Fig Tree blog

The Kerem-El congregation is a daughter of the HaCarmel Congregation on Mt Carmel, and they also took part in the outreach HaCarmel did in Haifa during the "Holiday of Holidays" annual festival in downtown Haifa where Channukah, Christmas and even Ramadan are celebrated. Rich ground for outreach! They write, "Israelis from all backgrounds are much more open to listen and talk about Yeshua than they were five or ten years ago. We are slowly seeing a change in the way Jewish people view Yeshua and know that many seeds were planted in people's hearts over the two evangelism weekends. We pray that God will keep working in their lives and that we'll see a great harvest from this cooperative work!"  For the many events and ministry at Kerem-El Congregation (God's Vineyard), read more by connecting directly with the ministry, or by subscribing to the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Another friend, a widow who serves the Lord with all her heart in the Kerem-El Congregation, is Ronit Bender who writes, "I  have to say I am glad 2018 is behind us,  It has been a year with many challenges for me. I am sure you had yours too. I am praying for you Mark 11:22-24, "Have Faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain 'be thou removed and cast into the sea' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.  Therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray, believe, that you receive them, and you will have them."  Read more about Ronit's travels and ministry in the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries but watch her in two interviews in Tulsa, Oklahoma last year Part 1 and Part 2

From the Maoz Ministries of Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram, and really good run down of the recent developments that prompted great political drama in Israel with PM Netanyahu dissolving the government and calling for new elections.  Get informed prayer points on how to intercede for these developments - as well as all the things Israel is facing from security threats on all the borders and the unveiling in a few months of Trump's plan (son-in-law Jarad Kushner's plan is more like it) for a negotiated peace between Israel & the Palestinians. Honestly, I would not be surprised if Netanyahu didn't dissolve the govt & call for new elections precisely to delay the unveiling of this plan. If so, good move, Bibi. Four months is a LONG time in both Israeli and US politics these days.

Howard and Randi Bass of the Beer Sheva congregation write about the Jewish New Year according to the Bible. (Howard doesn't beat anyone's heads over the Gregorian calendar New Year, but gives interesting insights into the biblical year).  Howard writes, "I believe that the Holy Spirit is calling the Body of Messiah together for each of us, and all of us together, to do a soul-searching of where we stand in our faith and walk with the Lord. . . . We are all born into a generation... and 'know' some things almost without learning, and are ignorant of who the one true God and Savior is; and we learn things of our generation more easily and quickly than those who are "older" than we are. ... .  So it is, too, that our children -- and even ourselves -- are coming into a world that denies absolute truth from a real and living God who has created all that is and who has a plan of redemption and salvation for sinners, and He tells us all this in the Bible.  We are challenged to make Him and His gospel known, and to uphold the revealed truth which He has given us by the Holy Spirit and His Word, in a world that is falling in chaos and destruction.  Praise the Lord for His cross! . . . As anti-semitism and anti-Israel and anti-christian demonically inspired activities are increasing, the Holy Spirit is raising up a bulwark against it through those who know their God, and that His Word is truth." Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please keep in prayer these Israeli ministry leaders and believers with urgent health needs

EDDIE SANTORO's latest MRI showed the return of the brain tumor. The doctors will only finish out the treatment he is already was having - only 1 more treatment and they are stopping further medical interventions. From the beginning, God spoke to Eddie to flow with the doctors in dealing with the brain tumor. The doctors always said it would come back and now for a third time, it has. The doctors have reached the end of what they can do - but God! Eddie has miraculously lived long past what they expected from the beginning. Eddie and Jackie are holding onto their faith, and Eddie is also spiritually set to receive the needed miracle to live, or to be present with the LORD. Please pray for the miracle of life for Eddie as he has done as the LORD said, flowed with the doctors. Where human strength fails, God's power arises.

Prayer Insight for Current Events Related to Israel

Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem writes on how the nations are choosing blessing or cursing.

In our 5 November Update, we focused on the implications of the elections of 28 October in Brazil, in which Jair Bolsonaro was chosen for the presidency of that country.  We wrote of Bolsonaro’s love for Israel, and of his declaration four days later that, “as previously stated during our campaign, we intend to transfer the Brazilian Embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem.”  We also mentioned Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s intentions of coming to Brazil for Mr Bolsonaro’s January 1st inauguration.

Last Friday, the Prime Minister and his wife Sara did indeed arrive in Rio de Janeiro, where he was welcomed by a huge crowd of Brazilians chanting “Israel! Israel!” It is the first-ever visit by a serving Israeli Prime Minister to that country, the fifth-largest by area in the world, and the sixth most populous.  Later the Netanyahu’s were given an incredibly honoring welcome by President-elect Bolsonaro, which included presentation to the Prime Minister of Brazil’s highest and most important national award for high-ranking guests, one in the past reserved for such dignitaries as US President Dwight Eisenhower, and Queen Elizabeth II of England.

Up to 1/5 of the population of Brazil is thought to identify as Evangelical Christian. It is this vast community of believers which is credited with propelling Jai Bolsonaro into office in the elections last October.  On Sunday, the Israeli prime minister was honored with the unveiling of a stamp, issued by the Brazilian state of Amazonas and dedicated by Christian supporters of Israel in the city of Manaus.
The stamp contains a picture of the PM Netanyahu with his name in English and Hebrew.  It also bears the number “70” commemorating modern Israel’s 70th anniversary, with the words Mazel Tov—“Good Fortune” beneath; and at the bottom are two hands clasped in friendship, with the names Brazil and Israel on either side.

Inside the zero of “70” is a Star of David, representing Israel.  If you look carefully, you will see within the star the Hebrew letters מושיע  -- Moshia [Pronounced: mo-SHI-ah], which in Hebrew means, “Saviour.”  Some Israeli papers assumed the word to be referring to Netanyahu.  However, we strongly suspect, given the spirit of Christians who were behind this honour, that the word is an acknowledgment that out of this nation came forth the Saviour of the world!   After all, it is this same word which appears in Hebrew translations of Luke 2:11, where angels tell the shepherds, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all people, for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Saviour  (Moshia), who is Messiah, the Lord!”  Moshia appears also a number of times in the Hebrew Bible, such as in Isaiah 60:16, where Israel is told that she will come to know that, “YHWH is her Saviour (Moshia), her Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob”; and Isaiah 19:20, where the inhabitants of Egypt are promised that when they cry to YHWH, “He will send them a Saviour (Moshia).”

In his address to this Christian community, Netanyahu pointed out that their new president’s first name Yair happens also to be a Hebrew name, meaning “he who brings light. And I think that we have now an opportunity together to bring a lot of light to the people of Brazil and the people of Israel.  This is an alliance of brothers.”  At the inauguration yesterday, the new president seemed to affirm this  “brotherly alliance,” when, stepping down from the platform where he had assumed his new title, Prime Minister Netanyahu was the first person to receive from him a personal embrace.  Read more in the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries
