Re-Alignments
that
will bear the Fruit of the Fig Tree
As a general rule my list does not feature Christian
ministries operating in Israel. The idea of this list has
been to keep focused on Israeli citizen ministries. One of the primary reasons
being because I wanted Christians to learn about the Messianic Jewish or
Christian Arab ministries in Israel they might not otherwise have opportunity
to know about or to support. I'm breaking that self-imposed rule this week to
give honor where it is due to Daniel and Amber Pierce of Glory of Zion
Jerusalem who prophetically laid a spiritual groundwork for the exciting news
we saw announced this week — in the historic re-alignment of the United Arab
Emirates with Israel.

Amber Pierce writes | We knew the Lord had asked us to go to Dubai last summer. I remember the morning very clearly when Daniel woke up and said God was speaking to him about the UAE. He wrote this letter below on July 19, 2019.
A Prophetic Declaration Over the Middle East! | July 19, 2019 | My wife Amber and I are writing to you from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. When I woke up on the third day of our stay here, my spirit came alive as God began speaking to me in intercession. As I began to pray, it was like a window opened up to Heaven and I could suddenly see the heart of God for the Emirati people and the people groups of the Arabian Peninsula.
Improved Relationships and Realignment | There is a new season coming of improved relationship with Israel among the nations, and as those relationships come into sync with the heart of God, a blessing will be decreed from the mouth of God over many lands and many waters! As the spirit of Persia arises, it will continue to cause the nations of this region to draw closer. There is a realignment taking place on the Arabian Peninsula and in the Arab nations that will bring many face-to-face with the God of Israel and the Lord of Hosts. I heard God speak to Yemen and say, “Peace be still!” and I heard Him speak to the strait of Hormuz and say, “Peace be still!”
This morning, God told me to go down to the waters of the Persian Gulf and decree that He is a God who breaks the bow and bends the spear and tells the wars to cease. Then God showed me a crack in the foundations of Islam and told me to decree a shaking that would cause the crack to widen and the five pillars to crumble before His voice! From here in the UAE, I decree that the voice of God will be heard like the sound of a rushing wind, and that His Spirit will usher in the truth of who God is.
When I got up this morning, I looked at a copy of the Gulf News that had been left in our hotel room. On the front page was an article “Why Dubai Has Been Chosen Arab Media Capital for 2020.” After reading this article, I began to pray that Dubai’s voice in the Arab nations would grow even stronger, and that God would use the voice of Dubai and the UAE to begin to unite the Arab world. I also prayed that this strengthening voice would be used like a trumpet in the Middle East to proclaim a powerful testimony in days to come. Pray that God would ignite a burning fire of revival on the Arabian Peninsula and that a seed of revelation would begin to grow, even now, in this moment!
Additionally, Amber had a word concerning 20/20 vision coming into a new clarity. I believe that 2020 will be a time when many nations see God defining their vision in ways that could not have been imagined: A Time for Vision to Become Clear Habakkuk is crying out for God to restore justice. God tells him to write the vision and make it plain. You see, God uses the clarity of vision to set a course for the restoration of justice for His people and in the nations. We should expect that God will release clarity into our vision in 2020. ...We must remember that God has appointed a time to release revelation and make it plain. Please pray that in every appointed time, God’s people would be able to grab hold of His word and see the vision plainly as it has been written and decreed in Heaven! “Has not the Lord Almighty determined that the people’s labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing? For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:13-14) God’s desire is to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Please stand with us in prayer that the Lord’s glory would cover the earth, and that His revelation would become clear in the Arabian Peninsula.
Join us in
declaring that His spirit will become known in all nations and to the ends of
the earth!

As promised last week, the rest of the prayer letter from the Haifa Immanuel Church pastor Najeeb and Elizabeth Atteih. In the growing 2nd wave of corona in Israel, they are seeing so many in deep distress, anxious and jobless. They continue to watch over the 5-year old boy with cancer, and his dad who cries to the Lord day and night for his son's life. They are not meeting in the church in person, but thank God for the great increase of people even from afar who are being ministered to through the Zoom meetings, and a new personal testimony Najeeb is sharing on YouTube From Darkness into His Marvelous Light. Their family is good, but Najeeb's mother is suffering from cancer - please pray for a miracle for her. Their son has been noticed for his work among the IDF Arab soldiers and transferred to another base close to the borders in the north. They also write about a potential for war between Aermenia and Azerbaijan (Elizabeth's roots are in Armenia). They are also unable to return to their refugee work in Jordan even though the corona epidemic has come under control - there is still no travel allowed. Pray for both nations and those the Atteih's have been ministering to in them. They write, "Thank you again for not forgetting us."
Marianna Gol, who is featured in a recent article on Kehila News, Helping the Vulnerable - The Helpless in Israel Get Support From Believers, writes for prayers for Ruth and her daughter Shirel. The daughter requires full time care after being hit by a car when very young, the mother suffering from cancer, overcame it, but now is back with doctors saying it is untreatable. Please pray for those in impossible circumstances.
The
Maoz ministry has long operated a humanitarian outreach called IStandWithIsrael
and they have been sharing the stories of some of the people they have been
able to help with donations to that outreach. Shani shares that one of her
favorites is Rizik's Story, A Christian Arab in
Nazareth who has been a church planter, an architect (who
designed one of the most iconic congregation buildings in Israel on Mt.
Carmel), and a man who spent this life sacrificing for others. When he needed
help IStandWithIsrael was able to step up to provide it.
(I was moved to tears by his story)
Also from Maoz, I want to share with you a real find if you are American. For the
past year or so, I have not found a better perspective with prayer points FOR
America than what Shira Sorko-Ram from Tel Aviv has been filing on Facebook. Shira is the daughter of
Christ for the Nations founders and obviously after decades in Israel still has
a huge heart of the USA. Here is her latest which is how to pray
for the rest of 2020 as we face a Good versus Evil political & presidential
election.
Chaim Malespin is also a ministry that has turned to telling the stories of
what their ministries are doing via video. Since many people don't like to read
but want to watch short videos, plus the obvious advantages of being able to
bring viewers right into the midst of what you are doing, it is an excellent
way to share ministry news that works for ministry email letters as well as

Great report from Avi-Asher Hyde of Tree of Life Ministries: "We’ve had about 6 times as many orders of New Testaments and evangelistic materials in the last 2 months compared to usual! God is stirring a hunger in Israelis to know the Messiah!" He shares several inspiring stories of Israelis who have been responding to receive their bibles and evangelistic materials online - including a prominent Israel rabbi wanting to look at their book on the prophecies of Isaiah 53 about the Messiah. On the streets they were able to share the Gospel at a "Corona Hotel" for those infected or quarantined at the hotel. And they ask prayers over their pro-Life and Gospel campaign ("in a battle with Facebook, Youtube, and Google about releasing videos related to abortion"). They ask prayers for all the people who have watched their evangelistic videos, for more laborers to do follow up, and for follow up from their outreaches to the poor. Please pray for those who are “counting the cost” and very close to a decision!
In Tel Aviv at the Tiferet Yeshua congregation Gil Afriat says they are welcoming a new member to their team who has a clear ministry calling on his life. On the evangelistic team they have been surprised at a willingness of people to listen to street witnessing. Sally Shiff who is with the HaMaayan congregation in Kfar Saba, is a lover of people and a strong intercessor. Her latest ministry letter casually mentions that she had a surgery for skin cancer and apparently there may be more. Pray for her that all the cancerous places will be eradicated and not spring up a second time. She also brings a great word about the American elections in 90 days (from her writing). " Being a citizen of that country, and still having the right and responsibility to vote in the election, I began to fast and pray for God’s outcome. God brought me to the story of Elijah, Jezebel and Ahab in 1 Kings 18, and the question of Ahab to Elijah, “Is this you, you troubler of Israel?” This is abbreviated but it led to fasting and prayer for the US leaders and election. Sally also "HIGHLY RECOMMENDs" Eric Metaxas' book, “If You Can Keep It” as so appropriate to this season. Her ministry continues on helping people, bearing witness and praying. As with all of the ministries, there is no international travel they usually do in the summer months to raise support. Please remember Sally and those ministries in Israel depending on us.

"Despite what this battle entails, we are confident in God’s unfailing Word and promises." Read in her own words| Ronit Bender whose cardiologist told her that her irregular heartbeat is SEVERE, and is suggesting further tests. Please intercede for Ronit: No weapon formed against her shall prosper! | Olga Bikas severe back pain has kept her in "quarantine" for the past 4 years or so! Olga’s health. She went through several checkups that showed new findings and the doctors believe that an operation should improve her condition. Different doctors, however, propose different kinds of operations, and we need God’s guidance and wisdom to make the decision. | | Please continue to pray for Jacob Damkani for the LORD's mercies over Jacob and his dear wife, Elisheva | Continue please to pray for Ruth Nessim who at last report was losing her eyesight. I have heard nothing from her in months and she may be in nursing home care now. Real Unity
before the End

A HaAretz book review caught my eye, 'We Curse Christianity Three Times a
Day' Can Jews and Christians Truly Reconcile? Despite the
spiritual darkness of a people who curse Christianity three times a day, the
answer to that question is an unequivocal YES. God reveals in
His Word that is the Divine plan. If He said it, it is not only possible but
God is going to bring it to pass. God promised He would return to Israel in
mercy, removing the spiritual blinders, and that "all Israel shall be
saved." I don't think that is the outcome most Jews are really looking
for, but whether a Jew or a Christian expect it or not, that's where we are
headed. God is will have His way.
It could come in our lifetime, or perhaps in our children's lifetime, but we
are very close to the conditions God's Word describes as existing in the times
He will bring fulfillment. Still, God has to whip both sides into
shape before we actually live out the unity that is described by Paul in
Ephesians 2 where out of two is created one new man in Messiah. We are sure not
there yet, even if we are closer. So what are the obstacles in our path to this
one new man unity?
'We Curse
Christianity Three Times a Day' covered how
historical Jews have responded to Christians extending an olive branch.
However, in a related opinion piece Richard Landes' explored another
interesting question, What Fuels
Evangelical Christians’ Love-hate Relationship With Jews. If you are a Christian who
doesn't know the history behind Landes' question, you should educate yourself,
because it is not without reason that so many Jews think in those terms.
Landes recalls the instances where Christians first loved the Jews...until they
didn't. He writes, " A cyclical,
volatile and dangerous form of apocalyptic Christian belief moves rapidly from
philo-Semitism to hating Jews." In just about every case the underlying
answer is because the timing of God was "not yet" for the wide
removal of spiritual blindness from the Jews regarding the Messiah and the
Christians involved didn't even know there was Divine timing in play. Being
ignorant of God's timing in returning salvation to the Jews, Christians became
frustrated and eventually turned on the Jews for not living up to expectations
of acceptance. Martin Luther is a great historical example of that, but it has
happened repeatedly and I'm pretty sure it will happen again. It may be rolling
out in America right now.
In the closing lines of Richard Landes' commentary, he asks,
"...despite the evangelical hopes of two post-1948 generations, there’s still no sign that the Jews 'understand' their critical role in everyone’s salvation. In the past, the slippery slope to violence and human sacrifice has won over and again. Can Christians hold on to the unconditional love they profess, and cling to the ways of peace?"
For quite some time I have expected many Christians would turn on Jews before the end. I expected the reason to be, not so much what Landes sees as the classic reason — of Christians becoming tired of waiting for Jews to come to faith — but other reasons. Read more on my Fruit of the Fig Tree blog

of Life Ministries: "We’ve had about 6 times as many orders of New
Testaments and evangelistic materials in the last 2 months compared to
usual! God is stirring a hunger in
Israelis to know the Messiah!" He shares several inspiring stories of
Israelis who have been responding to receive their bibles and evangelistic
materials online - including a prominent Israel rabbi wanting to look at their
book on the prophecies of Isaiah 53 about the Messiah. On the streets they were
able to share the Gospel at a "Corona Hotel" for those infected or
quarantined at the hotel. And they ask prayers over their pro-Life and Gospel
campaign ("in a battle with Facebook, Youtube, and Google about releasing
videos related to abortion"). They ask prayers for all the people who have
watched their evangelistic videos, for more laborers to do follow up, and for
follow up from their outreaches to the poor. Please pray for those who are
“counting the cost” and very close to a decision!
In Tel Aviv at the Tiferet Yeshua congregation Gil Afriat says they are welcoming a new member to their team who has a clear ministry calling on his life. On the evangelistic team they have been surprised at a willingness of people to listen to street witnessing. Sally Shiff who is with the HaMaayan congregation in Kfar Saba, is a lover of
people and a strong intercessor. Her latest ministry letter casually mentions
that she had a surgery for skin cancer and apparently there may be more. Pray
for her that all the cancerous places will be eradicated and not spring up a
second time. She also brings a great word about the American elections in 90
days (from her writing). " Being a citizen of that country, and still
having the right and responsibility to vote in the election, I began to fast
and pray for God’s outcome. God brought me to the story of Elijah, Jezebel and
Ahab in 1 Kings 18, and the question of Ahab to Elijah, “Is this you, you
troubler of Israel?” This is abbreviated but it led to fasting and prayer for
the US leaders and election. Sally also "HIGHLY RECOMMENDs" Eric
Metaxas' book, “If You Can Keep It” as so appropriate to this season. Her
ministry continues on helping people, bearing witness and praying. As with all
of the ministries, there is no international travel they usually do in the
summer months to raise support. Please remember Sally and those ministries in
Israel depending on us.

Real Unity
before the End

A HaAretz book review caught my eye, 'We Curse Christianity Three Times a
Day' Can Jews and Christians Truly Reconcile? Despite the
spiritual darkness of a people who curse Christianity three times a day, the
answer to that question is an unequivocal YES. God reveals in
His Word that is the Divine plan. If He said it, it is not only possible but
God is going to bring it to pass. God promised He would return to Israel in
mercy, removing the spiritual blinders, and that "all Israel shall be
saved." I don't think that is the outcome most Jews are really looking
for, but whether a Jew or a Christian expect it or not, that's where we are
headed. God is will have His way.
It could come in our lifetime, or perhaps in our children's lifetime, but we
are very close to the conditions God's Word describes as existing in the times
He will bring fulfillment. Still, God has to whip both sides into
shape before we actually live out the unity that is described by Paul in
Ephesians 2 where out of two is created one new man in Messiah. We are sure not
there yet, even if we are closer. So what are the obstacles in our path to this
one new man unity?
'We Curse
Christianity Three Times a Day' covered how
historical Jews have responded to Christians extending an olive branch.
However, in a related opinion piece Richard Landes' explored another
interesting question, What Fuels
Evangelical Christians’ Love-hate Relationship With Jews. If you are a Christian who
doesn't know the history behind Landes' question, you should educate yourself,
because it is not without reason that so many Jews think in those terms.
Landes recalls the instances where Christians first loved the Jews...until they
didn't. He writes, " A cyclical,
volatile and dangerous form of apocalyptic Christian belief moves rapidly from
philo-Semitism to hating Jews." In just about every case the underlying
answer is because the timing of God was "not yet" for the wide
removal of spiritual blindness from the Jews regarding the Messiah and the
Christians involved didn't even know there was Divine timing in play. Being
ignorant of God's timing in returning salvation to the Jews, Christians became
frustrated and eventually turned on the Jews for not living up to expectations
of acceptance. Martin Luther is a great historical example of that, but it has
happened repeatedly and I'm pretty sure it will happen again. It may be rolling
out in America right now.
In the closing lines of Richard Landes' commentary, he asks,
"...despite the evangelical hopes of two post-1948 generations, there’s still no sign that the Jews 'understand' their critical role in everyone’s salvation. In the past, the slippery slope to violence and human sacrifice has won over and again. Can Christians hold on to the unconditional love they profess, and cling to the ways of peace?"
For quite some time I have expected many Christians would turn on Jews before the end. I expected the reason to be, not so much what Landes sees as the classic reason — of Christians becoming tired of waiting for Jews to come to faith — but other reasons. Read more on my Fruit of the Fig Tree blog
