John
17 Unity
by Asher Intrater | October 29, 2021 | A few years ago in prayer,
I sensed the following insight. I present it for your discernment:
The time has come for the Messianic remnant of Israel to take a place of
leadership in the greater Body of Messiah worldwide. In previous
"waves" of the Holy Spirit, different local bodies in various locations
in the world have taken leadership. Each time there was a main theme of
revelation, which led the Body of Messiah for a time.
What now will be the leading
revelation from the remnant in Israel to bless the rest of the Body? The answer
is: the John 17 call for unity. This may come as a surprise to many here in
Israel. We were not expecting unity in the international Church to be such a
central message for us.
The last part of the worldwide Body
of Messiah chronologically to be restored is the Messianic remnant of Israel.
Likewise, the ultimate restoration of the Body in general is our unity
according to the John 17 prayer. This unity includes divine union with God,
glorification by the Holy Spirit, and the final evangelizing of the world.
The John 17 unity is connected to
the parable of the Olive Tree in Romans 11. The various parts of the
international Church are depicted as branches of different trees being grafted
into one olive tree. The grafting causes unity because all the branches are
grafted into the same tree. (I wrote of this John 17/Romans 11 connection in
the book The Five Streams over 20 years ago.)
[Note: The Vine of John 15 speaks of a
personal spiritual connection, while the Olive Tree of Romans 11 speaks of
national historical connection. Together they speak of unity with Yeshua,
Israel, and the Church.]
In
order for this unity to take place, we as the Messianic remnant of Israel need
to "adopt" the worldwide Body, the international Church. God told
Abraham that he was to be a "father of many nations" (Genesis 17).
What is it called when a family takes in a child who is not theirs biologically?
Adoption.
God's covenant with Abraham was that
he was to adopt the spiritual children of all nations who come to similar faith
as his, and to be a blessing to them. We as the Messianic remnant are called to
walk in Abraham's footsteps by "adopting" the international church
and being a blessing to all our spiritual brothers and sisters who believe in
our Messiah, Yeshua.
In order to "adopt" other
nations, we need to enlarge our hearts (II Corinthians 6:12, 7:2), embrace the
cross, die to racial pride, be healed of rejection, have faith to give to
others, understand that our calling is to serve the nations, and support the
international Ecclesia, the true Body of Messiah.
The international Ecclesia may be
seen as a family of families. The remnant of Israel is supposed to be the elder
brother of the family. The role of the elder brother or first-born son is to
unify the extended family. As we Messianic Jews embrace the call of John 17 for
unity, we will also embrace our own calling as the Romans 11 remnant.

Ron Cantor writes a great piece in our
continual battle for the truth. His article, Zionism is not Imperialism (sorry I cannot find an online link, you
might write him for the mail). Cantor writes, “…the
truth is Jewish Zionism (Christian Zionism is based on Scripture) was not
birthed out of a desire for land. Most Jews would have preferred to stay in
Europe, if they had allowed us to live in peace. (See my web page for a
detailed timeline of Christian antisemitic acts). Zionism was birthed from the realization
that the nations would never treat us fairly and would actually persecute us
without a cause. This was a concern long before the Holocaust.”

Hasdey Yeshua, a congregation in Arad
that has been besieged by religious opposition for the past two decades of this
weekly prayer letter writes about the restoration that is going on in Israel
after two millennia: “something miraculous is beginning to happen. We’re returning to our
possession, the land of Israel, and being restored to our families.” They tell
the story of one of their congregants who has searched for family members who
survived the Nazi years. They knew of some relatives in the US but could find
none who made it to Israel. Then recently got a hit on a DNA test that the
woman had taken years earlier. The DNA hit came from a young Israeli man who
lived in Israel in a town close by and he put her in contact with his mother
also living in Israel. “Speaking to her was like putting all the puzzle pieces
together. She was excited! Seems the Israeli family had been trying to find the
American family for seventy years and had just been talking about us...and
there I was! After seventy years of fruitless searching, the Lord restored us
in one day.”
There was also a great report of
praying for a Bedouin woman who could not conceive and after the prayer she
became pregnant, bore a son. They ask prayer that this will “bring the couple
and others to faith in Yeshua. There is such a contrast between the God of
Israel and the god of Islam. There is no love or answered prayer in Islam, just
a cruel demonic god who demands submission. Muslims need to be set free!” Plus the discovery of a hidden gift for
watercolor painting that one of their women who works with the children of the
congregation discovered during the lockdown period. Now the children are really
enjoying learning this art from her .

Ronit Bender finds people who need to be touched by God. She is doing
her normal living in the community, but God directs her to people…not all of
them a great delight to be around, but all in need of Him. Oftentimes the ones
who are most challenging are the ones who drawn to the see her more after she
listens to them and they pick up on her calm. Ronit says, OBEY GOD AND LEAVE ALL THE CONSEQUENCES TO HIM. God
did not promise us an easy life, but He did promise to see us through our
difficulties. Not everyone she meets is difficult, she has favorites in the
places she frequents, but they all get her care, attention and prayers. She is
walking in her calling to the salvation of all Israel. To join Ronit’s mailing

Be blessed as I was (it gave me
chills and tears) with this music video Ronit sent "The Blessing" a
song born in 2020 as lockdowns were spreading from nation to nation and Covid
19 damaged families. Last week, a version of "The Blessing" was aired
on local television as a fight against anti-semitism, sung by Israeli and
international artists. This song, is a declaration of the priestly blessing
over the House of Israel. As you enjoy it, please pray that those who hear it
would begin to have hearts hungry for the seed of God's word to be sown in
their hearts. “He is
for you. He is for you. He is for you. He is for you. He is for you. He is for
you.”

Chuck Cohen’s Friday Prayer Points 10/29/2021 blessed me: PRAISE From the beginning to the end of Your Word, over and over again, we are encouraged to trust that You really are in control! We bless You for this challenging truth to us (Psa. 93:1; 103:19). Precious God the Son, our Lord and our God Yeshua (John 20:28-29), we thank You for humbling Yourself to become a man and then to die to become our Redeemer (Phil. 2:5-8; Rev. 5:9). Thank You that You have often permitted what appears to be the enemy's plans, and then used them for Your glory and our good (Gen. 50:19-20; Rom. 8:28). Messiah Yeshua, we praise and thank You for overcoming this world's anti-God, humanistic order and then giving us all we need to be able to do that as well (John 16:33; 1 John 5:4). Hallelujah! Your Word always accomplishes that for which You send it to do (Isa. 55:11). What a joy to serve the only God in all of reality – the Living God of Israel (Isa. 44:8). We humble ourselves before You and acknowledge that while at times we do not understand Your plans, we can always trust You – for You know the end from the beginning (Prov. 3:5; Isa. 46:10). Thank You that all we go through at this time is called "our light affliction" which lasts only briefly, and which works out in us an "exceeding eternal weight of glory" in Your presence (2 Cor. 4:17). congregation in Acco: “"Was Yeshua a good person", and if so why did
the religious leaders work so hard to discredit him? Yeshua was the Word become
flesh and He spoke nothing but the truth. The religious, knew the word and
believed they understood it's meaning. However, they not only did not know the
full meaning of much of the Word, they also used it to manipulate the people. .
. . Yeshua …explain(s): “Most assuredly,
I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the
kingdom of God.” That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which
is born of the Spirit is spirit. Without
being born of the spirit, we, even believers, could find ourselves drawn into
the spirit of religion. Religion looks through the eyes of logic and resists
the spiritual side of the faith. This is why it is critical that we develop a
lifestyle where we continually invite the Holy Spirit to fill, lead and guide
us in and through all things.

Jew & Gentile, Male & Female
by Donna Diorio
Someone asked me what I base my
understanding of the distinctly different callings on Messianic Jews and
Gentiles Christians.
I take a whole Bible approach to understanding scripture and what God is saying and wants from us—which means I reject taking just a "New Testament" verse making it speak for God as His 'final' Word instead of being another layer of His thoughts on the subject.
I have found that if you look closely enough, God's Word is filled with what seem to be contradictory flat statements about specific issues. Instead of picking and choosing the one we like the most, I believe that Scripture defines God's intentions best, so comparing the verses that seem to contradict each other will actually be up to the Spirit of God to "divide asunder" what God is looking for.
For example, it is made clear by Paul in Romans 3:9-31, see it quoted below that God is making no distinction between how Jews and Gentiles can be saved: it must be by faith in Messiah Yeshua, not in living up to the law.
This is like there is no distinction between male and female: both come to salvation in the exact same way. Like Messianic Jews and Gentile Christians, male and female are on the exact same footing before God - no distinction. However, male and female, like Messianic Jews and Gentile Christians do have differences and also distinct callings before God. The strengths and weaknesses of men and women –generally speaking—are in alignment with the differing realms of their accountability before God. This is spelled out in Genesis 3, after the Fall God describes to Adam and to Eve what realms of accountability men and women will be MOST accountable for before Him. Men will labor as Provider | Women will labor in childbirth. Her realm of accountability is in the Family: childbirth, children, and husband. The husband will be the “head” responsible before God for his family, and the woman will be in godly submission to rule of her husband, as God’s spiritual head. This is not like the perversion of headship we have seen develop in both Jewish and Christian notions (God hinted that would be an outcome of the Fall in saying "Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” The wife will desire, long for and crave her husband and the husband will exercise dominion over her. That’s not God’s will in the relationship dynamic, He is just saying this is the consequence of the dynamic each played in the Fall.
So history has shown that has been the historic relationship dynamic between men and woman —like it or not, that is what God said although He wants something far better for those couples who will walk with Him in His desire for them. He will perfect the union in His own Design. All this does not mean that men and women are on different footing in their salvation, it just means their "job requirements" before God are different. So the makeup of the man is different than the makeup of a woman – that is by Design to suit the areas they are accountable to before God.
God's sense of justice and righteousness does not "evolve" and there it is in seed form in Genesis 3. As many times as the spiritual family of God is paralleled to a marriage, we need to take it the different roles and callings into consideration too. I believe the union of Messianic Jew and Gentile Christians will also be perfected by God’s own Design – recognizing that the differences exist for the purposes of God that each fulfill their accountability toward God as He wants, not as they might desire to fulfill themselves.
I believe this equates to the different apostolic callings that Paul wrote about in Galatians 2:8 between himself and Peter. Peter had an anointing to minister to the Jewish people the way of salvation; Paul had an anointing to do the same for the Gentiles.
Yes, of course they are both Jews, but that is how the first generation of faith in Yeshua/Jesus began - almost entirely Jews. Now we are in the reverse situation with the current generation of believers. The faith in Jesus for almost 2,000 years has been almost entirely Gentile Christian, but today there are over a million Messianic Jews worldwide, likely more. There are a couple of hundred Messianic congregations in Israel alone. The anointing and mandate - the mantle of God has already begun to return to the Messianic Jews with apostolic effectiveness to reach their own Jewish people.
Today many Gentile Christians believe they are the ones God has given the anointing, mandate and mantle to minister salvation to the Jews. Like the modern woman who has to taken over the lead role of breadwinner in a household that is minus a husband, or where her husband does not live up to his area of accountability, there is an effectiveness that Gentile Christians can have in ministering salvation to the Jews - but it is not God's ideal.
I believe God's ideal is that Messianic Jews will minister the way of salvation to the Jews. . .and the way that Christians will make unsaved Jews "jealous" is by recognizing and acknowledging the mantle and the anointing from God is on the Messianic Jews to reach their own Jewish people... and to come alongside them in all manner of support from prayer to financial.
Romans 3:9-31 9 What then? Are we any
better? Not at all. For we have already
made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin. 10 As it is
written: “There is no one righteous, not even one. 11 There is no one who
understands, no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one
who does good, not even one.” 13 “Their throats are open graves; their tongues
practice deceit.” “The venom of vipers is on their lips.” 14 “Their mouths are
full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16
ruin and misery lie in their wake, 17 and the way of peace they have not
known.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the
law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable
to God. 20 Therefore no one will be
justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings
consciousness of sin.
21 But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as
attested by the Law and the Prophets. 22 And
this righteousness from God comes through faith in Messiah Yeshua to all who
believe. There is no distinction, 23 for all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by His
grace through the redemption that is in Messiah Yeshua/Christ Jesus.
....30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by
faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Certainly not! Instead, we
uphold the law.
Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power
of the tongue
Please keep in prayer the Israeli
believers who are fighting for their lives or other urgent health needs:
Please Pray for Claude Ezagouri of the Morning Star Fellowship who has started a treatment that is due to last at least 6 months for a medical problem he has been suffering from. Believe in prayer with them as they look to the Lord for complete healing and for prompt recovery from some other ailments. | Ronit Bender finally has seen a new cardiologist she likes because he is caring, she’s taking new meds, feels better but still asks for our prayers | Pray for Carolyn Hyde whose left hand is so pained she can no longer play guitar and it is also sometimes painful to play piano | Silvers: David's knees and Josie's back pain | A prayer request for Naomi, for a dear family that is a part of Israel Pochtar's pastoral team, who was diagnosed with colon cancer. "Despite what this battle entails, we are confident in God’s unfailing Word and promises." Read in her own words| Please continue to pray for Jacob Damkani for the LORD's mercies over Jacob and his dear wife, Elisheva | Dov Bikas – I have been very tired these days: probably as a result of a combination of factors: my age, stress of the days of running to the bomb shelter, work load in the ministry, etc. Olga Bikas: We are grateful that Olga is feeling better these days! Though the doctors never found the cause of the dizziness that put her in hospital a month ago, they did rule out major issues like brain tumors, heart problems, etc., so this is already comforting. Olga’s back also keeps improving and she is able to walk more outside now than she did before.
