Priority Prayer Focus Aug 23, 2017

Just as I prepare to begin summarizing this week's Weekly Summary into the Arrows from Zion format, I am seeing this breaking news that is quite serious:

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: I told Putin that in order to prevent a future war in the region the Iranian forces must leave Syria

I want to urge you to open the Weekly Summary and read the prayer points excerpted this week from the IFI, Intercessors for Israel in Jerusalem as they are covering several major Israel-impacting events, including the embattled Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

There is also tremendous opposition in the Israeli news media to U.S. President Trump as the Left-leaning secular Israeli news media attempts to defame their own leader by association with the USA president.  One caution we are well aware of in the United States that can be repeated for what the Israeli media is doing in this respect: they have an agenda that we do not share. This is a time to recognize that just because the news media relentlessly makes accusations and twists what leaders are saying, does not make it so. If there ever was a more important time to hear from the Holy Spirit on the issues of the day, it is today. Pray that we would all walk with understanding of the times in which we live.

Kicking off this week, Katy Smith of the Maoz Ministries shares the story of how Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram began the Tiferet Yeshua congregation with an anonymous gift of twenty-two 1000 Swiss Franc bills stuffed in their home mail box. Inside all that was written was, "To Ari and Shira, faithful servants of the Lord." WOW! What a start to the ministries that now exist some 40 years later! From atop Mt Carmel, the Carmel Congregation sends thier monthly update and a special greeting from senior pastor, Dani Sayag about a series from the Sermon on the Mount that has been blessing the congregation for the last several months.  Read his comments inside the Weekly Summary attachment. There you will also find updates on the huge online response to their new video "The Great Jewish Leader" that has been viewed so far by 65,000 Israelis.  Israeli viewers are requesting bibles and asking, "What is an intimate relationship with God like?" How exciting!

There is also a short explanation about the Equine Therapy that Revive Israel has undertaken to bless kids and adults of all kinds in Believing single-parent Families in Israel and How You Can Help. By visiting the website, I learned, "Yad Hashmona is host to the King David Stables, an independent stable that provides horseback riding lessons and equine therapy sessions. It was here a number of years ago that Revive Israel had its own equine therapy experience as a team-building exercise. Our friend and intercessor at the Kfar Saba congregation led by Tony and Orna Sperandeo, Sally Shiff, has a really interesting spiritual idea which is based on the story of Elisha and the jar of oil in 2 Kings 4. She has an invitation for you concerning those jars which you will love reading about inside the Weekly Summary attachment Sally also speaks about the run up to the Fall Feasts of the LORD which began yesterday.

News from Evan Levine on the HaTikva Dental Clinic that is on its way now with a major renovation starting in their new building space in Haifa. Evan writes, "Our staff is all under contract and all of our major equipment is purchased.  We just need to finish the renovation and get our license from the Ministry of Health.  Please join us in prayer that these last things will occur quickly and we can blessing hundreds of people a month in the name of the Lord! Become a partner with us or make a one time donation."

Most of you know that Israel provides medical to all citizens, but what you many not know is that they do not supply dental and therefore all dental work is beyond the finances of many Israelis. This is an openly Messianic dental clinic that offers a deep discount as a service to both the Israeli believing community as well as to needy Israelis.

We have the new monthly update from Richard and Carolyn Hyde of Heart of God Ministries who are in the midst of an American tour, having just finished their Far East tour.  (Get US appearances in the Weekly Summary Tour section).  Read more of the Divine appointments that God has been making for them in their travels, and also a very important breakthrough in their family which we will not get into publically - but it is an exciting breakthrough!

About a year ago, God clearly spoke to Leon Mazin the pastor of “Return to Zion” and its servants to establish a “Prophetic Studio”. We didn’t quite understand the meaning of this words into depth, and you can say that we still do not grasp it completely but we decided to obey the Lord. 

We started a project and bought an additional place in our facility following God’s direction and made of it a room for prayer, worship and prophecy. After we finished with the rebuilding process, we did not have a full picture of what to expect and how to deal with it. However, God himself began to send people and groups from Israel and abroad to a place where they could worship Him, connect with Him and be filled with the Holy Spirit. After several groups from Israel and around the world have visited the place and have spent hours and even days there, we saw how much anointing God is willing to pour out on those who seek Him and obey Him.

God is present, brings physical and spiritual healing, faith renewal and answer to prayers. We desire that the body of our Messiah in Israel and abroad will use the prophetic studio in order to meet with our Creator being filled in His presence, to worship, to praise and to rest in him as well as to spark a breakthrough and revival.

You are welcome to our Prophetic Studio in Haifa to spend time with Him alone or in a group. It can also be used to arrange meetings and conferences, basically anything that will serve the body of our Messiah.

800 weekly issues so far!

It is a pleasure and an honor to be able to collect ministry letters from Israel each week to share with intercessors in the nations. The whole idea of this ministry was to bring the many diverse ministers of the Gospel in Israel to the attention of Christians in the nations. It was to make the basically hidden Israeli Messianic Jewish ministries known in wider circles. For Christians, often it was to give them the first exposure to the fact that Messianic Jewish Israeli-citizens even existed and ministered in Israel. Also, for those in  Messianic Jewish congregations, it was to expose them to ministries beyond the usually handful of connections they were exposed to by their congregations.  There is a wide range of ministry going on in Israel and all worth knowing about.  A lot has changed in the past 16 years of this Weekly Prayer Summary. Many more Christians in the nations are aware of the body of Messiah in Israel. There are also many more outlets sharing news and information from the Israeli ministries. That's a good thing. That's not something we ever wanted to have exclusivity in doing.   Even with great changes in the past 16 years, it seems there is still good reason to continue on with the vision.
We are not at the finish of the need yet. 

Priority Prayer Focus Aug 16, 2017

Despite the alarming conditions that exist around us, very much the "gross darkness" that prophetic scripture says will continue to increase in the times before the Lord's return, there is also the flip side of that prophecy which should give us all hope and the courage to continue to press into all that God wills before the end.  "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you."  Isaiah 60:2

"For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God by us. Now He which establishes us with you in Messiah, and has anointed us, is God; Who has also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts."  2 Corinthians 1:20-22

We start out this week with a wonderful prayer point list from the Congregation of the Wellspring (Kehilat Hamaayan) in Kfar Saba, which is pastored by Tony and Orna Sperandeo.  Included are prayer points for the whole Middle East, the Israeli Government, for the body of Yeshua in Israel , for the Hamaayan congregation, and for the veil to be removed from the eyes of Israelis so that "all Israel will be saved".  Get this list inside the Weekly Summary attachment      

From the Maoz Ministry in Tel Aviv, Katy Smith writes about the controversy that is swirling around the Prime Minister and his wife as to their roles in several incidents being investigating by police. The Netanyahu's are suspected of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.  Some say the allegations are purely political, but as Smith points out, "Should the Prime Minister be indicted, Israel will find itself in a highly uncomfortable place, and, probably, facing new elections. Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate continues in his series on Israel and the Nations - A Theological Opinion Part 2

There is a new report for the House of Victory rehab ministry in Haifa, led by Eric Benson and an offspring ministry of the HaCarmel congregation. Benson writes, "It is described in Mark 6:31 as a day so busy that 'the disciples had no time even to eat.' At this point Jesus said to His disciples, 'Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest a while.' The staff of House of Victory has as deep understanding of this passage. We know it through practical experience. In a crisis center, 'there are many comings and goings.' At times, we can be exhausted. We needed to seize a moment where we could get together with the Lord and find some rest. We purposed to find a date on the calendar to run to a secret place." Israel Pochtar of the Beit Hallel congregation in Ashdod says this has been a long, eventful and exciting summer - which included the marriage of his son and the near completion of their new congregational building.  Now they are getting ready for the fall feasts and many other upcoming projects, outreaches, events and conferences. Yesterday was my 66th birthday and mid-August is the 

16th Anniversary of the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Priority Prayer Focus Aug 8, 2017

Isn't this an apt representation of the Living Stones of Israel? They resemble dead stones until they bloom!

I received a picture of this Lithops Salicola plant that is native to South Africa, from a South African, Lollie, a subscriber to this prayer letter who was wishing me a happy birthday. Wow! Doesn't this just speak volumes?

So much of the Church continues to believe Israel is just a bunch of spiritually dead stones and they don't have any expectation of that changing either.

Yet we in far flung corners of the earth already see the beautiful flowering of the Living Stones. Soon there will be so many blooms that only those who are turning away from God will not acknowledge His Face is set toward the salvation of all Israel.

Let's pray for the Living Stones to continue to bloom and for God's people worldwide to see the truth.

Congratulations to the Dugit Ministry team under Avi and Chaya Mizrachi who just announced that they have secured a property for the new Dugit Coffee House and God has literally brought them back to where it all started. Israel Pochtar writes a profound truth about their life in Israel:  "Living in a land like Israel proves to be a challenge, because just as it is filled with God's eternal promises, for the very same reason it always finds itself in the midst of troubled waters. We know God prepared us in His Word for these moments and times, when He called us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem." Pochtar goes on to discuss the recent riots on the Temple Mount before turning our attention to great things the LORD id doing among them in the Negev region.

Pochtar writes about the regional youth conference which they are working "full force" toward at this time. He writes, "It started 5 years ago with 25 people, and it grew 10 times since! We now host 250 young people who come to learn, get inspired, be challenged to be that change in their own communities and local congregations. Ron Cantor has begun a blog series called, Israel and the Nations: A Theological Opinion - here is Part One | He begins, " Often, well-meaning, Israel-loving people will say to me, “I am Jewish now. I am grafted in.” I never, ever say anything close to, “No, you’re not Jewish.” I focus more on how grateful I am that they love God and pray for the Jewish people. However, it is interesting that the Church went from saying, “You can’t be Jewish and believe in Jesus,” to, “All believers are Jewish.” Which is it? What does the Bible actually say? I will make six statements and then seek to back each one up with Scripture, one blog post at a time."

News from Howard Bass of the Nachalat Yeshua (Yeshua's Inheritance) congregation in Beer Sheva . First he is welcoming back his wife, Randi from a time with her family in the US. Randi's birthday is coming up on Shabbat - Happy birthday, Randi!  A couple of days later Howard heads off to Singapore for a series of meetings - several that he is speaking in. But the big news is he will be seeing his daughter, Rotem & her family - 3 grandchildren - there.  The family have communicated that "Singapore has become a well-watered hole for Israel believers." Howard's teaching there will revolve around "the Church's role during the end-times of the last days towards the salvation of Israel."

Howard also sends a photo and a bit of explanation of a sign that the city of Beer Sheva has put up at the entrance to their congregation which is called the "Old House." He says it is not exactly what they would have preferred the city wrote, but already it is creating passersby to ask questions that lead to opportunities to answer. One more: Lastly, there is much attention being given to a sign in the skies on Sept 23.  Some are claiming that it will mark the time of the rapture; others think it may mark the time which begins the 70th week of Daniel, or the last seven years of this age before the return of the Lord.  I have commented here for those interested {P.S.  I am having some work done on the Streams in the Negev website, and it is possible that it will be done this week.  If you have difficulty accessing the site, it could be because of that.  Please try again later. }

From the Sderot Hands of Mercy humanitarian aid ministry led by Ye'shi Reinhardt, a report about a recent party for children and their families in the traumatized border city of Sderot.  It is not so easy living next door to Gaza and the terrorists controlling that entire Palestinian area.  Plus, Reinhardt shares that the IDF is expecting a long period of unrest.  All the more reason the humanitarian aid to the residents in this area is such a bright ray of sunshine.
