Hilsden of FIRM (Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries) posted on Facebook on Monday, "So surreal. I’m looking southward
where more than 50 rockets have been launched against Israel from Gaza in the
last hour! Meanwhile we are gathered at this lovely spot north of Tel Aviv with
more than 200 Jewish and Arab pastors where the peace of God prevails. Please pray
now! Psalm 91:5 “You will not fear the terror of the night,

Priority Prayer Focus
Hamas Unleashes
Rocket Barrage from Gaza | Twenty four hours later the
crisis has not abated. Now we are seeing reports of over 400 rockets fired from
Gaza with 100 in Israel hospitalized from wounds and trauma. Please pray. This morning we have several great prayer
pointers and perspectives in that will inform your prayers. I am
prioritizing these over the regular ministry letters received last week which I
will carry over to next week. Here is the first one which nicely summarizes the
situation. It is from Eddie Santoro in Jerusalem:
Since 4:30 Monday afternoon Israel has been under attack from the
terrorist group Hamas. Over 400 missiles have been shot into Southern Israel
and it is still continuing at this moment. There have been several direct hits
and one man was killed and several others have been wounded seriously. Schools
all over southern Israel are closed and many citizens in the more vulnerable
areas have been confined to bomb shelters until further notice. The Cabinet is
meeting this morning to try and determine the next course of action. Israeli
troops are on alert if a ground invasion becomes necessary.
The Israeli Air Force has retaliated with strikes against various targets
in the Gaza Strip but so far it has been a limited response waiting for the
final word from the Cabinet meeting. Although this attack has been initiated by
Hamas and has continued unabated, they are threatening Israel that if they
don't stop their attacks on Gaza, the missile strikes will go farther and
deeper into Israel.
The situation is complex and fraught with political and military pitfalls.
We are requesting urgent prayer for the Israeli military and government
leaders that they will have wisdom from heaven as they chart a course
through these incredibly stormy waters. Pray for protection for all our
soldiers and for all those living in the line of fire of these Gazan
missiles.
Yesterday a military bus dropped off about 50 Israeli soldiers and then
drove into a parking place. At that point, just minutes after all the soldiers
were off the bus, it was hit with an anti tank missile from Gaza and totally
destroyed, only one person standing near the bus was injured critically.
The Israeli media is calling
this a “miracle”.
The Arab Israeli bus driver who escaped unharmed was quoted as saying: “God loves the Jews!”
The Arab Israeli bus driver who escaped unharmed was quoted as saying: “God loves the Jews!”
Pray that we would see many more miracles like this and Israel's eyes will
turn toward their God as their Protector, Defender and Savior.
As we pray
let us remember that “If God is for us who can be against us” and He who
watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Dan Juster also shared great insight into why
Israel is not dealing with Gaza more permanently - like the re-occupation of Gaza
to halt missiles, arson kites & other violence, or removing Hamas and
restoring Palestinian rule to Gaza. Dan writes that Israel wants to avoid a
re-occupation of a very difficult population to rule. Also if they restore PA
rule of Gaza, "Then Israel faces the potential for the world
recognizing Palestine as a state since they would have a unified government or
would face pressure to make a peace agreement that would not ensure Israel's
security. So Israel prefers the status quo."
Juster continues, "Some, like Naftali Bennet, want to stop the attacks by killing those who send the balloons and also those who are leaders of Hamas. If they did so, then maybe Hamas would stay in power but would be motivated to stop the attacks. This is probably the direction Israel will take; not to remove Hamas but a much harsher response, targeted killings and heavier bombing until there is a truce. So the fullfilment of our return to the Land comes with great struggle still!"
Sally Shiff, intercessor at Kehilat
(Congregation) HaMaayan (Wellspring) gives us a great summary of where things
stand on Tuesday, plus a strong list of prayer points (read more in the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from
Israeli Ministries). Two examples:
"We pray for our Government to make wise decisions regarding escalation. That they would not listen to the demands from other countries, rather would listen to God and His wisdom. That there would be a consensus within the government exactly what to do that is best for our country and people.
"We pray for our Government to make wise decisions regarding escalation. That they would not listen to the demands from other countries, rather would listen to God and His wisdom. That there would be a consensus within the government exactly what to do that is best for our country and people.
"We
pray for intercessors to rise us both here and abroad to beseech God on our
behalf. That God would give them divine
words of exactly how to pray, not motivated out of past hurts or judgments,
rather from His heart."
Orna Grinman, of the same congregation and
with a ministry to orphans and widows (including single moms) offers prayer:
"Merciful Father, Lord of mercy, King of kings, you hear our prayers and
you pull the strings. We look unto you, begging for mercy upon mercy. Not
because we deserve it, but for your name's sake. Use the current situation to
turn hearts towards you, to melt the fat around our hearts. Reveal your great
and mighty name and show the strength of your arm."
Interestingly enough, before the outbreak of
rockets the ministry letter I was going to lead with was from Kobi & Shani
Ferguson sent out on the 9th and featuring an appeal to help them minister to
the "lone soldiers". They
wrote, "They are soldiers who, for various reasons, have no family to
support them." The Fergusons note that not only are IDF soldiers our front
line of defense, "Their army duties earn them a mere $100 a month and with
that they must clothe, feed and house themselves.... it’s hard to get good pay
when they can only offer a handful of workdays a month." They also need
emotional support that family members usually supply, but these lone soldiers
are missing in their lives for a lot of reasons. This is a great time to respond to this need
by sponsoring an Israeli soldier
Marianna Gol whose ministry in the Negev serves widows and orphans
also, has a great outreach helping single moms, children and true widows &
orphans in some extremely challenges circumstances. Imagine needing a life
saving operation that will require intense recovery time with no one to care
for your autistic child. These are the kinds of instances they are stepping
into to bring relief in the name of Yeshua. The ministry, Afikim BaNegev, has a strong need
right now: "God has supplied us with the
right person to oversee this project, but we simply don’t have money to hire
her right now. Please join us in praying for provision for this much needed
ministry, and consider please contributing to help us meet our goal of $1700 a
month."
From Ron Cantor, Messiah's Mandate &
Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv, a glorious testimony from Moti Cohen
the Youth Pastor, of a whole family that comes to Yeshua in Tel Aviv. It is a
powerful testimony. Just a few days ago I heard Asher Intrater explaining the
scripture he said that leads him to believe the revival in Israel will break
out in Tel Aviv (more on that to come) but Yeshua also said the prostitutes
& the tax collectors would come to faith before the religious and we know
that Tel Aviv harbors one of those and Jerusalem harbors the other!
Anyway, Ron also includes a note on the
outreaches they are doing to help "more and more families here in Israel
find Yeshua—find eternal life," he writes. "We are coming to the
conclusion of a campaign to raise $10,000 of monthly support for the
congregation. We are about 60% there. Will you consider making a monthly
commitment to Tiferet Yeshua?" Also part of that drive is the Israel,
the Church & the Coming Revival conference that Ron is putting on in my
area this weekend. See more at the end of this document or online by clicking
link.
Tikkun Global also gives a testimony of a
"Drunk, Violent Pastor's Son!" who attended a Katzir (Harvest) youth
camp and being touched, surrounded by the love of God during a service. It
turned his life around on the spot. His best friend was also there and
experienced the same "So we prayed and gave our lives to Yeshua…and
nothing has been the same since! Katzir truly saved my life!" Ron Cantor tells the 18-yr history of Eitan
Shishkoff leading the Katzir youth camps and asks for our help to bring
90 Israeli teens to the Hanukkah winter camp.

Shira Sorko-Ram posted an exceptional post
about an elderly lady who came to faith at Tiferet Yeshua and died. The funeral
was planned for the customary within 24 hours, but the rabbinate found out her
faith in Yeshua and refused to bury her. Arrangements had to be made elsewhere
, and since the family had not planned on buying a burial plot because Jews are
buried at no cost in Israel, they will have this added expense. Shira writes,
"This is the same kind of thing that happened to Eliezer Ben Yehuda, father of the modern Hebrew
language, if you have been reading
my stories over the last three months in the Maoz Israel Report." If you
are on Facebook
you can read the full post by Shira which can inform your prayers on the
key Mayor races run-off elections happening today, as well as getting a better
understanding of what it means to Messianics in Israel to not be counted as
real Jews by the rabbinate.
Also from Maoz Bringing Hope to the Arab People
about the great challenges of sharing the Gospel in places where Islam
dominates. Also these staggering statistics from the Dir of Shin Bet (Israel's
security agency) - " in 2018, security forces
thwarted 480 major terror attacks, 590 lone-wolf attacks, and arrested 219
Hamas cells—in addition to combating cyber attacks and espionage plots. I did
the math... that means 3.5 terror attacks every single day for the last 10
months!"
Carolyn Hyde of Heart of God Ministries speaks
about the
Great Aliyah from the West and Richard shares about having a heart
catheterization that turned into a heart attack during the insertion of three
more stents! Praise the Lord he lies to
declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. In a few days the
Hydes will depart Israel for ministry dates in Germany through the 26th.
Israel Pochtar's ministry in Ashdod is close to all the action of rocket fire out of Gaza, and as he writes, "More than one rocket per minute has been fired from Gaza at Israel over the course of two hours. Let that sink in. Many people in the southern parts of Israel have less than 20 seconds to find shelter from the moment they hear the sirens. What's it like when a rocket falls right next to you? Ask almost anyone in southern Israel under rocket fire from Gaza...or just watch this video."
Also from Pochtar, a followup last Friday on
the elections they were watching closely in Ashdod for they are in extremely
sticky situation due to ultra-Orthodox pressure on the city government
officials. Please keep praying over this and that God would make a way where
there may seem to be no way. Also an appeal to help them in the upcoming season
of giving by Beit Hallel for their community during Christmas and Hanukkah.

Awakening
Joy is the theme of the women's
conference being prepared by Chaya Mizrachi and Norma Sarvis for Feb 1-3, 2019.
They hosted one last year and the participants said, please let's do it again
next year! "The conference was above and beyond what we expected! God met
us and hearts were healed and encouraged. So many were blessed. We even had
women from Sderot, who have lived under rocket fire for years. It was indeed as
if heaven came down and touched us. After many requests and hearing a real
desire from the believing women of Israel, we knew that we had to have this
conference again.... We need your help! We want
to make sure that everyone is included in the event, so we are subsidizing the entire conference. The (250 expected
) guests will receive all meals, lodging, and transportation. This is no small
cost, and the whole conference is going to cost us $50,000. We thank you ahead
of time for your support both financial and spiritual for what is going on in
the body of Messiah in Israel. We know that God will bless you as you bless
others."

in a 40-day fast from 11/11 to Dec/21. "The focus of this fast is on Jesus
being more than enough. We desire to
experience an awakening of our love for Jesus as we ask Him to come and pour
out fresh oil in our lamps. We want to
stay bright and burning with His love and fire!
During the fast, we will be doing a 21-day brain detox by Dr. Caroline

I’m Jewish, or maybe we’re really not | by Miriam Abramov | Miriam writes, "An
interesting thing happened while I fell in line recently and did what so many
others are doing in Israel and abroad. I agreed to have my DNA swab the cheek
test done. Although I am recognized in Israel as a Jew, I was not prepared for
the journey and information which came in my results 4 weeks later. I am sure
most of those in Israel who have taken the test were also very surprised. I
could not get my test results given to me because “in Israel the computers are
locked”. So in other words tech has it so that when they see an Israeli address
you are automatically locked out for your results!" DD: Wonder what the reasons for this are? I certainly do!
