Elijah & Moses Arrows from Zion 9/4/2019

Norma Sarvis in Jerusalem shared a word of encouragement about the meaning of the letters/numbers in the Hebrew calendar for the upcoming decade of the 80's. At the end of September, Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, will mark the of year 5780 through the decade to 5789. She called her article, The Decade for Declaration.

A Decade for Declaration

5780-5789
A Decade for Declaration
 by Norma Sarvis, Jeruslem

As we are approaching Rosh Hashanah at the end of September, I began to think about the new decade.  During the past ten years (5770-5779  in the Hebrew calendar), the number for each of the years ended in the 70’s.  In the Hebrew letter-number system, “70” is represented by the letter ע.  This letter is called ayin, and it is one of several letters in the Hebrew alphabet whose spelling and pronunciation happen also to correspond to a Hebrew word.  Besides spelling the 17th letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Ayin also spells the Hebrew word for ‘eye.’  And so, throughout the past ten years our minds have been repeatedly reminded, continually drawn to the importance, the necessity, of seeing—of looking with heavenly vision. “In Your Light, we see light”   (Psalm 36:9).

Now, remarkably, we find ourselves on the brink of a new decade whose number also happens to spell a word!  On the last day of September we will shift into the Hebrew year 5780, beginning a “decade of 80’s.”  The Hebrew letter for “80” is פ – pronounced pehBesides spelling the 18th letter of the alphabet, peh is also the Hebrew word for mouth!  And so, in just over a month, we will move from a decade which drew attention to the eye, into ten years of awakening an awareness of the mouth
I felt the Lord saying that this will be a decade of ‘declaration’. Declaration over ourselves, over our families, our churches, our nations, our neighbors. What we declare with our mouths, what we speak, what we say, will be key for victory and for advancing the Kingdom.

Here are some ways that these declarations may work:

Arrows from Zion
Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests Israeli Ministries by subscription only donna@israelprayer.com

From the Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberias led by Claude & Michelle Ezagouri, they are giving praise to God for the children & youth summer camps, and for new people who have joined the fellowship - some are driving from out of town to worship with them. One of the outreaches that is opening surprising opportunities to share are their 'clean up crews' who go out into the city to clean up litter and beautify the area. Locals are very interested and want to know why. They are involved in organzing regional worship meetings. Please pray for that and so for the drop in donations as it will force them to make drastic cuts in their expenses. "We don't want to cancel the activities pertaining to the vision that the Lord has given us but if this trend persists, the long term picture looks rather grim. Please pray that we may have wisdom from Him to rebalance our budget intelligently. We trust the Lord to provide all our needs according to His riches in glory."

An amazing testimony from a new sister who just joined the congregation who was delivered from a very serious disease. She is now evangelizing through the internet to a wise audience involved in Satanism, with several having given their lives to the Lord. Please pray with Morning Star for her! Also for a couple of families who recently made aliya but the Interior Ministry is not making it easy for them. For more, please contact the ministry directly, or read in the Weekly Summary subscription.

Evan Glasser of the HaTikva Project is continuing to praise God for the last 10 years of operation. VIDEO "We had a dream for HaTikva Project and God made it a reality. Today is a big day because we see 10 years of God’s faithfulness and we are humbled. The past is important, but even more important is the future. God is faithful, and we trust him for whatever comes next. Let’s do this together." HaTikva posts many updates on Facebook on what they are doing.

Ronit Bender is a wonderful example of how believers in Israel are reaching their community as they are just obedient to God in their daily routine. She shares about buying a lunch on her way to a lunch date with a friend, then after lunch God showed her who she was to give the lunch to on the bus. It turned out to be someone she had once known, who had just that day cried out to God to show her that He had not forgotten her. Ronit's extra lunch was the sign that brought the woman to tears. Another, a friend from her youth who has many questions about Ronit's faith. Pray for the lady's salvation. And the security guard where she goes to swim, a man sad from many of life's losses, is hearing her testimony...pray for him also. Ronit's encouraging report is a blessing. Pray for her as she travels to Australia on 8/27, then after a brief time back in Israel onto Holland 11/8. We have been praying for Ronit's leaking heart valve and altho she is cleared to travel, let's keep her health in our prayers too.

From Maoz Ministries, Shani Ferguson writes, "From childhood, I had watched my parents build a ministry that impacted much of the Body across Israel and even secretly in areas of the Middle East. Kobi and I had watched them outlast tidal waves of opposition and survive the swirl of challenges that come with success. Kobi and I want to see that hard work bear fruit decades from now." Israel Pochtar sends a prayer alert for the "Decisive National Elections in Israel"...."Currently there is neither coalition nor opposition in Israel - just a transitional government. You can sense the nation of Israel vibrates with thirst for change.... Israel needs prayers as never before! This nation has a complex history, a challenging present, but a very clear calling for her future.  As messianic believers in Israel we see the critical times we're living in, and how the course of our nation impacts the rest of the world. It is time for us to unite as followers of Yeshua and stand in prayer for this small nation with such a big calling. We encourage you to pray with us for the upcoming elections this 17th of September, which will determine so many things, not only for Israel, but globally." For the full report, see the Weekly Summary subscription, or connect directly with Israel Pochtar on Facebook.

In a great testimony from their AWAKE youth conference, Israel shares about a young girl who was brutally assaulted 2 days before the conference and reluctantly attended. She had been seriously considering committing suicide, but during the even received such deep healing from God she said "she had regained something she felt was lost and knew the Lord had given her the strength to continue." This is why the ministries of Israel are so important! Yeshua is saving Jewish people NOW!

We also got in a great report from Rick Ridings at Succat Hallel about their summer youth conference that turned out 120 Israeli, Palestinian, Arab, and International youth. He writes, "We also had more Arabs sign up to participate in the conference than in past years. Praise the Lord!" In another direction, Succat Hallel hosted a Latino Coalition for prayer over governments in Israel and the nations. " God is in the midst of shifting nations! Don’t give up hope! There have already been many answers to prayers and unity is coming! Besides the prayer event, a teaching on fasting by Lou Engel was hosted in Ariel where we prayed for the release of a Schindler anointing, and then joined us the next day at Succat Hallel to speak and pray."

Carmel congregation pastor Dani and LuAnne Sayag put a spotlight on the 9/17 elections. "Many in Israeli society would prefer a unity government to reflect the people of Israel, and not a right-wing government that is made up largely of the ultra-religious parties. The coming government of Israel will need to stand up to great challenges in the areas of security, finance, and welfare, and somehow unite the people." Reminding of 2 Kings 6, the story of the prophet Elisha and the Arameans (Syrians), Sayag encourages us: "Similarly in our lives, sometimes we find ourselves surrounded on all sides by different kinds of difficulties and impossible situations. God wants to encourage us to know that, "those who are with us are more than those who are with them!" Refreshed from a time away in Switzerland with their children, Revive Israel's Cody and Liat Archer are happy for the time away with God to restore their souls. "We are learning little by little how to slow down and rest. This is not easy in Israel. We were immediately reminded of this within a few hours of our return as we saw people yelling at each other over a parking spot, honking car horns for people to get out of the way… The constant tension can be wearying. We realize more than ever how necessary it is for us to regularly take a step back, see from God's perspective and be filled with His love anew.  The Lord spoke a number of things to us over this summer about this next year which we will share about in future emails."

Revive Israel has VIDEO Fall Feasts Explained (Cody & Asher), plus Asher's VIDEO Blindsided By Evil, when we are harmless as doves, sometimes we are blindsided by what 'serpents' stir up against us!  Ariel Blumenthal's article Discerning the Body of the Lord identifies what was happening in the Corinth congregation: "...a failure to apprehend the power, sanctity, and authority that God intends to be present in the weekly meeting of the saints."  Also, here is a way to show your support of Revive & Tikkun Global with a "One New Man" Revival Time Hebrew Watches. Great gifts for lovers of Israel.

The Kerem-El congregation is a daughter of the Carmel congregation & is led by Daniel & LuAnn Sayag, Yonatan Arnold and Stefan & Keren Silver (This is also the congregation of our friend Ronit Bender). In late summer the congregation hosted special events: a first-of-its-kind intercongregational panel, as well as our annual culture night. The pane l was to express A Solidarity Evening with Ethiopian Believers following the recent outcry from Ethiopian Jews in Israel after a man was killed by police. "We are grateful that the Lord allowed us to be instruments of peace in His hands."  For Culture Night, they celebrated the diversity of the melting pot that Israel is after Jews from the nations have returned to their homeland.

It strikes me that before the Jews were scattered to all the nations, they did not know the joy of all the cultures across the world. Their world was tightly closed to their own traditions. Now as God is re-gathering Israel from all the nations, they are going back in with international flavor. It presents challenges, but followers of Yeshua should be the MOST receptive and appreciate of the diversity. This is surely meant to impact Israel's destiny and calling: “the nations of the world will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3) and "As you have been a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.” (Zechariah 8:13)

Marianna Gol sends an update on the Streams in the Desert ministry to widows and orphans with a great report on their summer camp for 64 teens. Also Marianne is informing of some changes: 1, they have started a children's program, and 2, there are some upcoming staff changes as one couple are leaving the ministry in March. Pray for this ministry in the Negev.

A new ministry letter from Tents of Victory in S'derot after a "terror-ridden summer that saw hundreds of rockets being fired by hate-filled terrorists in the Gaza strip, incendiary balloons scorching the local fields, violent March of Return demonstrations along the security fence, as well as several infiltration attempts. The close by S'derot villagers are suffering from the mental/emotional stress of being in the line of fire and Tents of Victory are pouring themselves out to help in every way. If you can't imagine what they are going through, please subscribe to their mailing list to get an understanding of what a humanitarian work this is - and it is being done in the name of Yeshua. Arni & Yonit Klein of Emmaus Way write about their recent 39th 10-day Galilee Worship Gathering and some of the spiritual experiences that come out of it. "The Word of the Lord to us was clear. Go out into the desert – to the wilderness. (The Hebrew word for desert – “midbar” – actually means “from words/things”). Come away from words and things. It was about healing, repentance, and cleansing from mixture. Spiritually speaking, mixture is the combination of that which is born of the spirit and eternal with that which is carnal and temporal. It is attempting to fulfill God’s purposes with the arm of flesh, with human strength and man’s wisdom."
They also write of changes forced by visa restrictions on their ministry associates, the Winkler's, which they will lose for at least several months as legal filing for a new type of visa takes place. So, in the meantime, that means the potential for an English speaking worship gathering later this year is out. Also there a new arrangements for giving from Germany, so contact the before 9/30th for details of the change.

Go Beyond Plus Tour | When the children of Israel faced Yam Suf (the Red Sea), it was not the END, instead, the sea was parted and the Children of Israel went Beyond. Over 40 years later, the Children of Israel followed the Ark of the Covenant, crossed the Jordan River and once again went Beyond.

We encourage you to consider joining us in Israel during November 13 - 23, 2019 for the Go Beyond Plus tour guided by Hanna Ben Haim. See, taste, and witness more of the land, while learning from leaders and experts who can answer some of those questions you have always wanted to ask. This tour is suitable both for first timers and for those who have come already and hunger for more!

In 2005 I stood on the precipice of the cliff in Nazareth where a crowd of people from Jesus' hometown tried to push Him over the cliff because they didn't like what He said. What had He said? He said what He knew to be true after reading from the Scriptures. This infuriated people.

The Holy Spirit has been showing me what was going on there.
