WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 1/24/2018

Priority Prayer Focus

There is an old saying, "It's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease." Of course that flies in the face of trusting God to supply all our needs without the need of begging for donations. One thing to know in general about Messianic ministries is that over the top appeals for funding donations that we often see among some in Christian ministry, is an embarrassment in the eyes of most Messianic Jewish ministers. That is a good thing I think in general, but as with every of principle of the Kingdom of God there is balance between the two extreme ideas of never asking for donations and always laying a heavy request for support upon those enjoying your ministry.

We can know the truth of this by what happened in the first century, Acts 6:1 "In those days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Grecian Jews began to grumble against the Hebraic Jews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food." As spiritual as the first Apostles were, they had to be told by the people that this discrepancy of distributing resources was leaving a whole group of Greek Jewish widows going without within the community of faith.

God did not speak directly to the Apostles about this need as they devoted themselves to His Word and to prayer, but human beings had to speak up to call their attention to the need. Quite literally, in order to get the needed "grease" the left out "wheel" needed to "squeak" up!

Consider this my own squeaking up for donations to this ministry. And please bear in mind that even though you may rarely are hard pressed with donation appeals for Israeli Messianic ministries, I can assure you that the need exists. Please respond to those that are blessing you spiritually, with material blessing.

First up, Mazal tov to Eddie Santoro from the Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem on his 69th birthday! If you have been on this mailing list then you may remember that Eddie is indeed blessed by God to celebrate this birthday having overcome a literal death sentence just over two years ago when doctors diagnosed him with an aggressive brain cancer that few survive - even with successful surgery. But here it is two years down the road and Eddie continues to amaze with "all clear" in his follow
up cancer screenings.

Not only did God preserve Eddie's life, but He also did a deep work in Eddie's spirit with a deep revelation of eternity, as Ecclesiastes 3:11 says "also He has planted eternity in their heart, so that no man can fully discover all the work of God from the beginning to the end." Santoro, in his 'wrestling' with God in his own life and death struggle, caught a deeper glimpse of eternity - and also a zeal as never before to pray for God's healing to the sick. It is interesting that in one translation of Eccl 3:11, God 'planting eternity' in our hearts is interpreted to mean giving us a "sense of Divine purpose".  That is surely the work God has done in Eddie Santoro's life and I would encourage you to read Eddie's  short word the time we have been given inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Sally Shiff is an intercessor and liaison for Kehilat HaMaayan in Kfar Saba. Let me explain quickly about her liaison role. There are many Israeli Messianic ministries who began life in the United States and they speak English perfectly. But there are others who are native to other lands like Russia or Brazil. There are also native Israeli Messianic ministries. English is a second language to many but for many it is just enough to 'get by' not great for major communications. This is how Sally is able to bless her on congregation in Kfar Saba, to be a fluent English-speaking representative for them.  So it is good to remember that when dealing with some of the ministries of Israel that not all are fluent English speakers - and that's okay! They are there to minister to Israelis first and foremost. So give plenty of grace when trying to communicate with some whose first language is not the same as yours - we're still family!

Sally does a review of 2017 and looks ahead to 2018 and beyond in her prayer letter this month. She quotes one of the prophetic promises of God to Israel which I long ago latched onto as my own personally too: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer. 29:11). She also writes, "This year, as it unfolds, I anticipate that we will see things that we have never seen before, yet read in our Bible.  Who would have ever thought that we would see a President of the United States publicly proclaim Jerusalem the capital of the Israel, or pull funding from the United Nations?"  There is something stirring in Israel and we are hearing more of the Messianic ministries mentioning it with excitement. Please read Sally's email which includes prayer points inside the Weekly Summary attachment

The focus that Katy Smith of the Maoz Ministries weekly email for Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram is about the rise of religious persecution against our faith. She writes, "Israel is the only democratic country in the Middle East, thereby the only one that has freedom of religion as one of its pillars.  That means whichever religion a person chooses to practice, they must be treated like anyone else, and enjoy basic human rights.  This is the LAW. However, there are groups of people in this land that disregard the law, especially where Messianic Jews are concerned.  And so, persecution of believers in Israel continues."

She writes about the rabbinic incitement campaign against a small storefront ministry in Dimona, as well as the bureaucratic opposition to the Makor Ha'Tikvah Messianic school which is supported by Maoz ministries. Please read more inside the attached, subscription-only DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries Plus Maoz prayer points

From the team at Revive Israel, an article by Ariel Blumental 3 Principles of Biblical Leadership from 1 Peter 5, a video from Cody Archer on Rekindling the Fire of our first love, and a short Facebook video from Asher Intrater with Tal Har Report at the End of the AGLOW Europe Conference. Also there is a short piece on Three Ways to Pray for Iran, read it inside the Weekly Summary attachment

The IFI, Intercessors for Israel are currently in their annual Prayer Conference until February. They ask for prayer covering the intercession in Jerusalem and then traveling to the Golan and the Tel Aviv area is a time to hearing and praying for His kingdom purposes to be done on earth and in heaven.  If you didn't know, there are many such conferences with tours combined that are conducted by Israeli ministries and honestly it is the best way in my opinion to make a heart to heart, spirit to spirit connection with Israel - through the Messianic ministries of Israel. Depending upon the ministry you can connect with ministries whose focus is intercession, worship, evangelism, volunteer opportunities, tours to connect with multiple congregational works - whatever you are drawn to in ministry. And you get to see the real Israel and meet the real Israeli believers and people - not just an exhausting daily bus tour to ancient sites. (Although most also do partial touring of the sites too)

Please read more of the prayer requests Intercessors for Israel makes for this current conference-tour inside the Weekly Summary attachment. You will also see their prayer points for the increase of spiritual warfare since Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital; Security on Israel's borders and how to pray about Iran's agenda to "build a Shi'ite Crescent land bridge from Tehran to the Mediterranean".

Ron Cantor, a young man with abounding energy judging by all the ministry activities he is involved with, has a couple of blog posts we think you will like reading: Replacement Theology is Intellectually Dishonest (or plain dumb!) | Ron Cantor |  Forgive me for the frank title, but in this instance, it is accurate. Replacement theology is the belief that the Jewish rejection of Jesus resulted in God rejecting Israel, in favor of the Church. The Church is the new Israel and the old Israel is simply cursed. All of the promises in the Old Testament to Israel are now to the Church, while the curses remain the property of the Jewish people."

Also: Hollywood ain’t got noth’n on Moses!  | Ron Cantor | The story of Moses could not have been written by Hollywood’s best screenwriter. We have an evil king in Pharaoh. We have an oppressed people in the Israelites. We have a baby redeemer. The story begins with a nervous Pharaoh, trying to stymie the growth of the Israelite people. But the plan backfires. “But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites.” (Ex. 1:12)

From the Dugit Ministry of Avi and Chaya Mizrachi, Chaya writes about the Women of Hope conference that she and Norma Sarvis have put together for the Messianic ladies across Israel.  This is a special opportunity for the believer women to gather together in the Galilee to be blessed and refreshed in the Word and the Spirit. Please read more inside the Weekly Summary attachment for prayer points and an opportunity to help defray the costs for putting this gathering on.

The new location of the Succat Hallel prayer room is in full swing since New Year's Eve when they hosed a worship night for the youth.  With only one posted invitation, around 60-70 youth showed up to worship in the New Year before the Lord.  Read about it inside the Weekly Summary attachment   and about other news for Succat Hallel.

Ben Juster who is the operations director for Tikkun International Ministries was reflecting on the Tikkun timeline of the 40 years of connection between his dad, Daniel Juster, Asher Intrater, Eitan Shishkoff and Paul Wilbur. It's a powerful heritage that Ben has grown up in and if you have ever heard Ben minister, you will know that it is a heritage that he truly inherited personally with great wisdom in the things of the Spirit.  His Tikkun prayer points cover items for the Acco Katzir Asher congregation that Guy Cohen leads; Pray concerning the team at Revive Israel in Jerusalem, Dan and Patty Juster's US itinerary; and the deepening of all Tikkun-affiliated relationships. See more inside the Weekly Summary attachment

As mentioned earlier, Norma Sarvis (Jerusalem) and Chaya Mizrachi (Tel Aviv) got together to put on a special ministry event for the ladies, Daughter of Zion Gathering this weekend in the Galilee. Norma writes, "The worship leaders and speakers are from Israel, with one coming from Europe. This being a first-time event, I honestly expected about 80-90 women. As of now, over 150 have registered to come. For Israel, this is a very large group!  Most of the women coming are 40 years old or younger. They are hungry!"  Norma notes with interest that this weekend "the Torah Portion speaks of “Miriam the prophetess” (Exodus 15:20-21), and the Haftarah (reading from the Prophets) begins with Deborah a prophetess to whom the sons of Israel came for wise judgment (Judges 4:4-5) and goes on to speak of Ya’el, whom God used to defeat an enemy captain (4:21-22). We believe that it is indeed time for the women of Israel to come together as an army, to hear the Command of the LORD, and to proclaim the tidings!" Read her prayer points for the event inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Husband Martin Sarvis gives his usual excellent insights on the news of the day that impact Israel with a report on US VP Mike Pence's visit to Israel where Pence certainly wow'd the house in his Knesset speech.  Please read this glowing report of Pence's visit inside the Weekly Summary attachment  and how it differed in good ways from other senior foreign leaders who have addressed the Knesset. For one thing Pence, in Hebrew, spoke an ancient blessing that Martin notes, "every Jewish person has known from childhood". The Knesset chamber "simply exploded" as the Israeli parliament members jumped to their feet in resounding applause and wide smiles on all the faces.  [see that clip on Facebook here]
Along with other prayer points, Martin encourages all to read the speech for themselves at the Jerusalem Post

From Yeshua Israel ministries, Kobi and Shani Ferguson Why Jerusalem Matters to You | by Shani Ferguson | If Israel is the apple of God’s eye,  Jerusalem is the apple of Israel’s eye.  The center of the center.  The core of the core.  The physical location where the presence of the only Living God dwelt among men.  It is the place where God asked Abraham to offer his only son - and the place where God himself would ultimately offer His... Lastly, a few of the great selections from KehilaNews.com this week:

The cost of following Yeshua in Israel and around the world | One For Israel Staff | Though we are not killed for our faith in Israel, and very rarely physically hurt, opposition through social, political, judicial and economic means puts believers under great pressure. ALSO see the VIDEO from One For Israel as Orthodox Jewish "anti-missionaries" attempt to ridicule Eitan publicly

Messianic Believers are among women joining the Israel Air Force fighter pilot course | Kehila News Israel Staff | The IAF is now actively seeking to recruit more women to its fighter pilot course and believers, too, have answered this call.

Celebrating Be’ad Chaim’s 30th Birthday (Israel's Pro-Life Movement is Messianic!) | Be'ad Chaim Counselor | Only God knows how many babies this wonderful work has actually saved over the last 30 years. Some of those babies are parents themselves by now. Some of the Mums have chosen life through reading a leaflet on the street, or been caused to reconsider by just looking on the website, and never contacting the office. We give thanks to the Lord for them all.

Praying the Headlines
In the realm of infuriating news headlines, there's this from the Jerusalem Post
:

Kerry to Abbas confidante: 'Stay strong and do not give in to Trump' | JPost | While the White House confirms that since the "Jerusalem Declaration" there has been a complete disconnect between the Palestinian Authority and the Trump administration, it turns out that the previous administration actually maintains contact with PA officials. Ma'ariv reported that former US Secretary of State John Kerry met in London with a close associate of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Hussein Agha, for a long and open conversation about a variety of topics. Agha apparently reported details of the conversation to senior PA officials in Ramallah. A senior PA official confirmed to Ma'ariv that the meeting took place. . . . The former US Secretary of State also surprised his interlocutor by saying he was seriously considering running for president in 2020.

Teaching Articles

Betting on the Wrong Horse | By Avner Boskey | January 17, 2018 | Speaking the truth to politicians is often a daunting and thankless task. Kings and prime ministers have been known for trying “to make lies sound truthful… and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind” (as George Orwell once said) – while they ignore the wise counsel of YHVH and bet on the wrong horse.

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 1/17/2018

Priority Prayer Focus Jan 17, 2018

Micah 6:8 reads, "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?"

We have our hands full to walk in the requirements of God, doing justice, loving kindness and being humble by God's estimation rather than man's estimation, don't we? Our hearts can deceive us, but our true motives are always clearly seen by God.  Even people who believe in and follow the LORD forget how our Father is seeing us clearly every moment. We may fool ourselves and fool other people, but we never fool God about what motivates us to court injustice, act unkindly and present a false humility.

Living according to God's requirements is a form of worship. Perhaps even the highest form because it is possible to sing God's praises then live in a way that breaks what He wants to see in our lives. Praying that we all live up to what Micah spoke prophetically that God wants from us. If we live in such a way, will the life of Yeshua not surely shine brightly from our lives?

I loved this true story from Ron Cantor and Asher Intrater this week called Delivery Man. "The word Shaliach, שליח, has several meanings in modern Hebrew:  apostle, public servant, anyone with a sense of divine mission or purpose, and even a delivery man." You can read it inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Also, Asher Intrater addresses the belief many have that the end times holds only persecution , tribulation and antichrist but not widespread revival. Read this article as Intrater explains why he sees both Victory and Persecution in Revelation (the lat book of the Bible). You should also view his video A Balanced View of Apostolic Ministry as the controversy surrounding apostles and prophets in our day is back in the spotlight. Asher clarifies misconceptions in, "what we believe and what we don't believe" about apostolic and prophetic ministry.

Please keep Richard and Carolyn Hyde in top priority of prayer as they continue to have to battle religious persecution by the Israeli Ministry of Interior which wants to revoke Carolyn's citizenship on the basis of her faith in Yeshua/Jesus.  That would create a domino effect throughout her family, who are also Israeli citizens having given birth to many of Carolyn and Richard's grandchildren there.  Read the details of the most recent developments inside the attached subscription-only DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries. You will find other news from the Hydes there as they press on in their high calling before the LORD.

Just so you know, what the Hydes are facing is not an isolated incident. This happens continually in Israel due to the power of the religious parties. And not only that, but there are many expressions of religious persecution that have been happening for years and are happening currently. The fact that such religious persecution is illegal does not stop it from happening. We know of issues in bureaucratic  delays on permits that have troubled Messianic congregations renovations progress; or mobs gathering in often violent protest of Messianic congregations - this week Howard Bass describes what is currently going on in Dimona. These are major issues for prayer. With moving ahead with the testimony of Yeshua in Israel, there are persecutions. We are those assigned to hold up the arms of all those who are laboring in God's vineyard with the Good News.

Arni and Yonit Klein call 2018 "A Time of Extraordinary Potential".  Arni writes, "Isn’t it remarkable that fifty years after Jerusalem was restored to Jewish control the US President recognizes it as Israel’s capital? There is something more to be said for the timing of President Trump’s announcement. It was a moment of decided prophetic significance. On the Hebrew calendar the date was Kislev 19. Beyond coincidence… beyond amazing…it was on the 19th of Kislev in 1949 that Ben Gurion first designated Jerusalem as the capital of Israel!" That's not all because Klein goes on to note many other prophetic milestones inside the Weekly Summary attachment.

Arni also notes, "Of quite a different spirit, but notably dramatic, the orthodox-controlled Ministry of the Interior is taking their war against the believing community to new levels.  In addition to refusing citizenship to Jews because of belief in Yeshua, they are now threatening to attempt to take away the citizenship of Messianic believers who said they were Jewish at the time of their immigration. Their premise is that in light of a rabbinic ruling that believing in Yeshua constitutes a change of religion, to believe in Yeshua and say you are Jewish is to have falsely represented oneself.  The absurdity of it all is no less than Israel needing to agree with the world’s assertion that we have no historical relation to Jerusalem. For the MOI to actually be able to remove one’s citizenship would require a court ruling.  In point of fact, the Attorney General has already declared such an act to be illegal, especially where the relevant statute of limitations has expired. The MOI ignore the law and care nothing for truth and justice; yet they hold a pivotal place in the government coalition, such that the Prime Minister essentially allows them to do whatever they want." This is for intercession because the religious parties have the Prime Minister over a barrel. Read more in the Weekly Summary.

Love this from the Trumpet of Salvation, evangelist Jacob Damkani's ministry: "2018 - two thousand - yod-chet: chai - life! ....As the busyness and noise of 2017 fade into the twilight of our memories, our hearts and minds are focused optimistically on the new things to come. The year 2018 is upon us. 2018 - two thousand - yod-chet: chai - life!" So the number 18 is a symbol of "giving the gift of life". That sounds pretty promising for the year ahead, don't you think?

Since December theaters in Israel have been showing the Hollywood-production style movie of Jacob Damkani's life, how God plucked him up out of a "gangster" life and made him one of Israel's first modern day evangelists. The movie is called A New Spirit and will shortly move into DVD and other forms of distribution in Israel. The ministry could use your help to reach more Israelis with the movie and Damkani's book, "Why Me?" They will even send your Israeli friends a free copy of the book - details inside the Weekly Summary attachment          . See also Why Me? Online version ?למה דווקא אני  and New Spirit - The Movie Trailer. There is also an invite to come to Israel to help spread the Good News in short term opportunities.

The Sorko-Ram Maoz Ministries began this week with the horrible news of a terrorist driving by shooting attack on a 35-year old rabbi, the father of six who died from his wounds. They write, "This attack came on the day Israel's Defense Ministry released data on how much the Palestinian Authority is paying the families of killed or wounded terrorists, as well as Palestinian prisoners and their families.  The report states that in 2017, the PA paid them about 7% of their overall budget—some $350 million. While the average wage in Judea and Samaria (under PA's rule) is a little over NIS 2,000 (less than $600), a terrorist serving 20 years to life will receive NIS 10,950 (just over $3,150) every month for the rest of his life. For years, Israel's pleas for the world to stop this reward system for terrorism have fallen on deaf ears.  Meanwhile, terror attacks continue, and Israel, as in many cases, finds herself [almost] alone fighting for survival."

Imagine how disheartening it is to the average Israeli that the world continues to support  such a thing. Please read the prayer points from Maoz Ministries inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Israel Pochtar is one of those that has suffered mobs protesting their ministry as well as bureaucratic stringing along as they upgrade their congregational facility. Please keep this ministry in prayer as they are always a great joy to read all the things they are doing to reach their community with the Good News God has for them in Messiah Yeshua. You can read about their efforts to show "the true meaning behind Christmas" in their ministry to Russian Jewish immigrants in Ashdod and surrounding areas.  Also how they are discipling those that have to faith through their many forms of outreach. Please read the many good things and also prayer needs in Israel Pochtar's ministry letter this week.

Orna Grinman asks "What is tormenting you and causing you much pain?" in her blog post this week called, Is God Tabernacling within you?. Click to read.

David Lazarus writes about their congregation, Beit Immanuel, "We are all familiar with those times in life when troubles seem to pop up everywhere. The Psalmist describes these times as being like "surrounded by a swarm of bees" (Psalm 118:12). For us, this is one of those times as some of the kindest, most faithful and generous members of our congregation are facing difficulties. My first reaction was to complain to God, "Why do the nicest people need to suffer so much? It's not fair!" After visiting the families, praying and weeping with them, I realized that my attitude was not helping. That my questioning was a distraction from what needed to be done. When our loved ones are in trouble, that is the time to give as much love and support as we can, the kind of love that will help them overcome. I believe that this is an opportunity for you also to step up and come next to these families and share your love and blessings. Allow me to describe briefly a few of their stories and see if you too would like to give a helping hand." See more of David's appeal for several congregational members inside the Weekly Summary attachment

As I mentioned earlier, Howard and Randi Bass went down to Dimona to see that, "The situation there is heating up again, with the Chabad Rabbi stirring up protests and demonstrations against Albert and Esther, who are again opening up their nice little 'meeting place', situated just across from the offices of the city's rabbinic authority (the Rabbinate).  The Chabad rabbi brings together teenagers from the local yeshiva (Jewish study center) to annoy and to disturb their peace, and the peace of some of the other local shop owners in the commercial center of the city. . . . Please pray and thank God for Albert and Esther who are humbly demonstrating courage and a quiet spirit as they serve the Lord and love His people."  There are a lot more details shared inside the Weekly Summary attachment to help you intercede over this situation —and also a situation in Israel involving a refugee-immigration dilemma.

Howard also writes about the Fellowship of Christian Students in Israel (FCSI). One of the Nachalat Yeshua congregational leaders, Anthony Chapman is their chairman. Howard asks for prayer over this organization of "students -- Jewish, Arab, others -- in your prayers, and also consider financially supporting the organization."

Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem is looking forward to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel which will be celebrated this year. Imagine how prophetically significant that is! Martin clues us in with his ministry letter this week, which you can read inside the Weekly Summary attachment. Martin writes, "The last paragraph of Israel’s Declaration of Independence, signed 70 years ago this year, begins this way, 'Placing our trust in the Rock of Israel, we affix our signatures to this proclamation…'  This concept of Israel trusting in God as her Rock is very ancient."

WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 1/10/2018

Priority Prayer Focus

As we have been learning here in the United States with the now completely discredited "Trump Dossier," sometimes it takes an excessive amount of time and commitment to get to the truth, especially when people want to believe something even if it is untrue.

In those times it requires much effort to peel back all the layers to get to ground zero of the accusations. That is because of the whisper campaign that sets all in motion. By stealth a case is built that seems to point to guilt, but when the layers of false accusations are peeled back, we find nothing but empty speculation has fueled the furor. This is why James wrote, "The tongue is a fire, a world of wickedness among the parts of the body. It pollutes the whole, sets the course of life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell."

In the USA, after a difficult couple of years of accusations against Donald Trump that has claimed he collusion with the Russians, we are finally getting down to the hidden facts of the case which are that there was no collusion on Trump's part, but there was certainly collusion of lies in many high places of government and media against Trump. If there is anything that a believer needs today, it is discernment and an awareness of the devices of the enemy.

The apostle Paul wrote about how very different spiritual leaders can build together on God's foundation in  1 Corinthians 3 and 4.  In verse 4:1 he summed up true apostleship this way:  firstly they are servants of Messiah;  secondly they have been entrusted with the mysteries of God.  As one who clearly was entrusted with the mysteries of God, the apostle Paul  came AFTER and apart from the 12. He even came after the death and resurrection. While people argued over who was greater, Apollos or Paul, it was Paul who said there is enough room for everyone to pursue what God has given each to do as long as we are serving the Lord and not ourselves.

Ron Cantor, acting in his role as the Revive Israel Media Director, sends this appeal to help them build their studio for a new "Revive Live" Facebook program shot from the ministry center in Yad Hashmona. He writes, "Asher Intrater and I look forward to discussing current events here in Israel and how it relates to biblical prophecy. You will hear from and interact with Messianic leaders here in Israel. We will share with you on the ground reports of what God is doing in Israel. We will open the Bible together, to encourage you and equip you to stand with Israel in the end times. You will hear testimonies from Israelis about how they have found Yeshua. We’ll counter false doctrines that seek to masquerade as Messianic and equip you to stand against teachings that deny God’s plan for Israel." Remember last week the celebration of Chanukah, Christmas and Ramadan in Haifa? Well the Kerem-El, God's Vineyard congregation led the team of about 30 from multiple congregations doing outreach during the festival.  They report, "The evangelism was very successful and has prompted many who participated to continue doing it much more often, with much inter-congregational and multinational unity!" They ask for prayers over "the many seeds that were sown during the evangelism in Haifa to bear much fruit and that the devil will not be able to steal away the seeds sown."  For other news, prayer points and information about the daughter congregation of the Carmel Congregation, please see more inside the Weekly Summary attachment

The Maoz weekly report of Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram starts out with a priority request:  "PRAY for divine guidance as we begin 2018". That's a great prayer for the WHOLE body of Messiah in Israel and all of us throughout the nations. How can we go forward in such confusing and troubling times without divine direction?  They write, "For us at Maoz, the vision has remained the same for the last 41+ years.  That vision is the salvation of ALL ISRAEL, and every project we undertake—in one way or another—leads to this goal.  That means constant prayer, course adjustments if and when needed, and submitting to the leadership of the Holy Spirit in every step. ...Our desire is to stay focused on fulfilling God's plan and calling for this ministry, concentrating on doing our part in His vision and His will for Israel and the entire world."  To learn how you can pray specifically for Maoz, see more inside the Weekly Summary attachment

Stefan and Keren Silver, associate pastor/elder at Kerem-El also sent us their personal prayer letter this week talking about their Holiday of Holidays outreach in Haifa, but also big family news as Keren is expecting a new baby girl in March. Howard and Randi Bass in Beer Sheva sent a short new year's greeting  saying, "Your prayers and encouragements definitely strengthen us for the journey still ahead." They also included these two links that will be online until the end of January:  "It is a small compilation and glimpse into some of the people and events of Yeshua's Inheritance (Nachalat Yeshua) Cong. during the past year of 2017.  Thank-you very much!!  The second link is to the FIRM site, which has done a presentation featuring our congregation. (The site says that the congregation was founded in 2000, but that is incorrect: it was founded in 1972.  FIRM will correct that.  Our non-profit, Streams in the Negev, was established in 2000.)"

With the new year Avishalom Tekel who is the senior pastor at Tents of Mercy in Kiryat Yam, writes about a great awakening they are experiencing as a community with new families and new members joining them, as well as many successful outreaches. But they are also suffering a heavy loss of a beloved congregational member, Peter Miller, who Avishalom calls "a dear personal friend." This is a short letter but a sincere request for prayer and potential help for the family facing financial burdens with the main provider of the family. Orna Grinman has a new blog entry for her A Sign & an Example ministry: “I Saw the Angel of the Lord”  “May God preserve your health, and may there be peace upon Israel. That’s all I want,” said M’ repeatedly. And again. Her husband and son began apologizing for the dementia that started developing since her last fall, which causes her to constantly repeat herself. But Silvard and I enjoyed hearing her sweet blessing and plea …"

From Asher Intrater of Revive Israel in Jerusalem, this video Help Us Build Our New Studio and this video teaching Giving Glory to God. Another short note from Avi and Chaya Mizrachi of the Tel Aviv Dugit Messianic Outreach Centre and Kehilat Adonai Roi (The Lord is my Shepherd).  In December they had the Living Stones Tour come to the Dugit Coffee House location for a time of prayer and blessing. Avi reports that the demolition has started and they have an agreed upon plan with the architect and contrators.  Now it is just waiting for the permits!  If you know anything about Israeli bureaucracy, you will recognize this as a big prayer point! The Joseph Project is the largest importer of humanitarian aid to Israel and you see their name pop up often in these Israeli ministry prayer letters partnering to distribute aid to those in need throughout Israel.  Jim Schutz, who is the Executive Director of the Joseph Project, breaks down the numbers of the great things they were able to do in 2017 with the help of people in the nations who care about Israelis. Martin Sarvis writes about some encouraging things happening inside Israel as several thousand Israelis gathered to pray for rain at the request of the Israeli Agricultural Minister. There was some media poking fun at the notion but in fact only 4 days later torrential rains produced flooding in multiple parts of the country.  It is a fascinating read, and as usual, Martin provides great scripture & prayer points for the still desperately needed rainfall.

Martin also addresses the uprising in Iran, "Although the unrest was at first widely reported as being directed primarily against economic hardships, it soon became clear that the primary focus was against the present fundamentalist Islamic government.  Unlike previous times of unrest, these demonstrations were not restricted to large cities (where demonstrators might more easily escape recognition in the crowds), but quickly spread out into small towns and boroughs."  Read more inside the Weekly Summary attachment including the short video on Iran by Prime Minister Netanyahu that quickly went  viral. "The Prime Minister’s office reports that it is already the most widely-watched video he has ever posted on Twitter, receiving more than two million views. There have reportedly been thousands of responses, many of them in Farsi (the language spoken in Iran), and many friendly towards the Prime Minister and towards Israel."

In Tiberias at the Or B'Darki (Morning Star) Fellowship, Claude and Michelle Ezagouri  report that despite the challenges on their building through 2017, they see God has constantly been at their side and it is a fulfillment of the vision they received from God.  They also made good progress in coordinating in different ministries.  For the sake of protecting the nature of several sensitive prayer requests, I will ask that you access further information inside the subscription only attached DOCX Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries

Praying the Headlines

There is an alarming increase of anti-Jew and anti-Israel prejudice arising throughout the Western Nations. In great part this is because of the Western insistence on its commitment to backing lies in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has meant they had to carry it through in their own countries as a commitment to "Diversity". So every nation that has been hypocritical in dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has opened arms in their own nations to Islamists. The devastation has been remarkable, yet still the governments cling to their lies to their own people regardless of the cost their own people are paying. Look at the Islamist sexual grooming of young English girls and women that authorities hid and still hide! Look at the rape gangs in European nations, the acceptance of this and terrorist attacks as the price that must be paid for diversity. Look at the cesspools of anti-Semitism on American college campuses as radical American protest groups have merged with Islamist infiltrators - who have also infiltrated many bureaucracies in DC as well as in law enforcement in some major cities.

I know, you might think I'm overstating the case, but the true is I just follow the legitimate news sources who are reporting the individual instances. Like pieces of a puzzle, they don't mean much on their own, but when you put it in the context of the whole picture puzzle, it is beyond alarming where we are today in the nations. Which is why I took note of this puzzle piece:

Delta airline's managers have a long history of making antisemitic comments and ridiculing Jews.

Another alarming report was this article from Gatestone Institute: ISIS is making it clear that it now has its eyes set on the Gaza Strip. By calling on Palestinians to rebel against Hamas, ISIS is hoping to facilitate its mission of infiltrating the Gaza Strip. If ISIS manages to get a toehold in the Gaza Strip, they will be that much closer to Israel's doorstep, with their jihadis minutes from Israeli towns and cities. For the Egyptians, this means that one day they will have to fight ISIS not only in the Sinai, but also inside the Gaza Strip.
