Our 15th Anniversary Issue
Serving the Body of Messiah in Israel
since August 2001
Last year as we were embarking on our 15th year of providing weekly summaries of the prayer requests of Israeli Ministries I wrote that I never imagined I would look up one day to realize I would still be doing this 14 years later. Yet here we are again, stepping over into our 16th year.
As much as I sensed that this prayer summary was God-ordained in its
launch just a few weeks prior to the devastating attack on the US on 9/11/2001,
today I believe it is even more so. The things to be learned from these prayer requests each week are meant by
God to help the faithful in the nations not only to lay hold of His good intent
toward Israel, but also for what God has placed in them to be a unique blessing
for the rest of the international body of believers. The Israeli Remnant have a
mighty understanding of what it means to sacrifice for the sake of bringing the
gospel to their nation and knowing such deep commitment is something we all
will need in the tough days that lie ahead worldwide. They have things of the
Spirit that God has uniquely placed in them for us.
So often God uses you the most when you are the least aware of it. I think this is the case today of many Israeli ministries, unaware that their own lives, struggles and overcoming will speak volumes to the international Church. I believe their example in our day is much the same as the Bible says the examples of the lives of the ancient Israelites were to be for an example to us. The Israeli Remnant may see themselves as small in the sight of the international mega churches, but like little Israel surrounded in a sea of hostile enemies of God, they are walking with great grace as the called out Remnant of Israel, filled with faith, courage and hope - an example that many are beginning to recognize as such. It is an honor to receive what God has placed uniquely in you for the sake of the whole Body of Christ in the earth. I believe that you are the last missing piece of God's mysterious plan to lock into place. For myself, our journey together will continue to the finish - mine, yours and ours.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:4
You show that you are a letter from Messiah...written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2 Corinthians 3:3

Kicking off this week with an excellent word
from Tents of Mercy Eitan Shishkoff, on Mutual Humility "Humility begets humility. Repentance
begets repentance. Love begets love."
Eitan writes, "How shall we enter into His end-time plan together?
God is calling us into levels of cooperation we have only begun to glimpse - on
every level - from the personal to the familial, to the congregational, to the
regional and beyond. This will take
mutual humility. "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you
up" (James 4:10). "
The summer camps for kids and teens are still
going on and these are really important interactions for the teens in believing
families. Martin Sarvis wrote this week about the Dor Haba worship camp they
had in late June for Jewish and Arab young people. Also the Katzir, or Harvest,
camp that Eitan Shishkoff oversees twice a year for the teens with many former
campers, now young adults, serving in the important get times with each other
and God. This camp just wrapped up but we have the Elav (Unto Him) conference
on Aug 25-26; Israel Pochtar's regional youth conference called AWAKE 16.
All of these camps are so important to the young
people in the Messianic Israel
community. For one thing because they are still in such a minority, they
rarely get to worship or even socialize with so many fellow followers of
Yeshua. They go to schools where they might be the only believer in the school
. If you remember anything about your teenage years, then you can comprehend
why these events are so essential to their spiritual health and growth. Please
pray for the events upcoming, and for the events that have already wrapped up -
that lasting fruit would be produced in the lives of these young people - whose
next stop after graduating high school is their IDF military service. This is
time to forge strong faith. Read more details about the various camps inside

Evan Thomas writes from Netanya, the Beit
Asaph congregation, about their remarkable year of 2016, with the leaders
passing milestone birthdays like 50, 60's...(I'll just stop there). Evan is about 90% recovered from his terrible
arm fractures and Maala is retiring from her 33 yr career as an educator, it
looks like to dive fully into ministry from the sound of her itinerary over the
next few months.
Evan and Maala took part in a Christian event over the summer in Denmark, Evan writing, "It was our first time serving the Danish Church and it left us with deep and positive impressions. Of the approximately 6,000 participants, over 50% were under the age of 20. While the older generation has a deep interest in Israel and a love for the Jewish people, the younger set has a different of priorities and is questioning this strong emphasis of their parents. In attempt to 'bridge' the generational gap, we were invited to bring a balanced perspective by challenging some of the existing paradigms. It was a great privilege to serve the community. "
This is a certain prayer point: for preservation and strength in marriages... and throughout the family relationships. When we read the Hebrew scriptures we see that there were many trying family relationships for the majority of people we know so well in the Bible as faithful men and women. Is there any closer way for the enemy to try to wear us down than through our closest family relationships? Please pray for all family relationships among the believers.
From KehilaNewsIsrael (who we hear now is now getting 100,000 visits a month, with 65,000 different viewers), we have several articles from Israeli ministries of interest: Melody of Eternity: A Messianic Music School for Children in Haifa by Leon Mazin | The Apple of God’s Eye | by Orna Grinman. And I especially want to draw attention to the article by my friend Rachel Scapa who sheds great light on a situation that plagues so many of the Israeli ministries who rent facilities for their congregational meetings, and have to go through a lot of the "wandering Jew" experience. They are often forced to find new facilities and it is no easy process for them to purchase their own facility. Rachel walks us through the territory with her interview of Liron Shani, one of the pastors of Kehilat HaDerech, (The Way) in Karmiel No Easy Way to the New Home of Kehilat HaDerech

From David Lazarus (actually form the Children
& Family Coordinator) for Beit Immaneul in Jaffa, an excellent report on
their special evening bringing together the elderly family members, friends and
congregants to be blessed and honored by the young people of the congregation.
It was a time for really learning about each other that sounds exceptionally
orchestrated to bridge the generational divide. Am I old? Try
This!
Eddie Santoro of Ahavat Yeshua, Love of Yeshua
writes about being at the hald-point of his weekly bio-chemo transfusions and
daily radiation treatments. Eddie remains hopeful and in faith, but would love
the prayers of the saints as the pain in his throat is pretty intense and
doctors say the next month would be "hell". Please read the specific
prayer requests and report inside

The attack of various types of cancers on the Israeli ministry leaders over the past 3 years has been too many to be coincidence: Please lift them up for healing, grace and full lives.

What a great milestone the HaTikva Dental
Clinic just passed with 1000 treatments given already. Evan Levine says they
are a "boldly Messianic, non-profit dental clinic in Jerusalem" and
what an opportunity "to provide compassionate care in the name of Yeshua
to Israeli’s many of whom have never personally met or interacted with a local,
Messianic believer." There is already talk of a potential to bring the
same to northern Israel - but let's face it: they really need our help to
develop even greater reach. Still they've accomplished so much! Read all about
it inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary
Avi Mizrachi and the Dugit team in Tel Aviv
have an upcoming outreach among the refugees in Greece. We must keep all
details under wraps but they desire your prayer cover: "That the Holy Spirit would prepare the
hearts of both those that will be ministering as well as the refugees that will
experience the Love of God and the Gospel of Yeshua for the first time."
Pray for safety for the team, power of the Holy Spirit, and anointing for Avi
to encourage the local believers."
Howard Bass in the Beer Sheva congregation
says they have a lot of "going in and going out" for ministry or
vacations right now that requires grace and flexibility over the next few
months - would love your prayers. He
also writes, "The school year is soon to begin, and most of us send our
sheep into the midst of wolves, which we are sure you understand. It is fraught with danger, and provides a
proving ground for parents and for the children to know their identity as
called and chosen by God to be, among other things, witnesses for Yeshua in an
environment that seems less safe each passing year."
Howard also writes, "This news is another example of the battle raging in the heavenlies, and on the Earth. What is going on behind the scenes? For more of the doings in Yeshua's Inheritance congregation, read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary
Last but not least, Israel Pochtar of the
Ashdod congregation Beit Hallel writes about their 21 Days of Prayer walking in
the city currently in progress. He also shares an opportunity for 2 weeks
volunteer service with the Israeli Defense Forces for non-Israelis.
You will have to write them for details because I did not have the room
to share the graphic that provides all the information. Get the contact
information inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary
They also ask prayers for an upcoming Gospel
tour to Galilee and outreach with 200 non believers. Pray for open hearts,
salvation, healing; and Church building renovations are officially
underway"

Praying the Headlines The Spirit Behind Mein Kampf is Stirring by Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem
" . . . .For all the pages of material in Mein Kampf I scanned and flipped past that day in the library, I came away with really one terrible and lasting impression—he hated Jews. And he expressed this hatred in rhetoric which gave the impression that he truly believed it to be the most natural and rational viewpoint in the world." Read online
Teaching Articles The Secret to Seeing Your Prayers Answered | by Ron Cantor
"....Let’s be honest. If I
pray right now in the name of Yeshua for a million-dollar house (albeit in Tel
Aviv that won’t buy much) it is not going to happen. If I ask God for a yacht,
using the name of Yeshua like it is the New Covenant equivalent of “Abracadabra”,
it is not going to work.
"There two reasons why. First, everything we receive God is
supposed to come from and through a loving relationship with him, not through
executing a formula. And the second reason, which is what we want to focus on
today, is issue of God’s will." Read more online
