Arrows from Zion 6/20/2018

Photo Monday 6/18:
Environmental Terrorism at Kibbutz Gvaram Nature Reserve

Priority Prayer Focus

For decades I have heard it said that prophetically the state of the society is a reflection of the spiritual condition of the body in that nation.  This may not hold up applied to every single instance, but the environmental terrorism being waged by the terrorists who control Gaza reminded me of James 3:5-6:

Consider how small a spark sets a great forest on fire. The tongue also is a fire, a world of wickedness among the parts of the body. It pollutes the whole person, sets the course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Yesterday I read an excellent article by Ron Cantor that brought sound biblical balance to a verse of scripture that has been chronically misused over the past several decades in the USA. Ron's article is , “Touch not God’s anointed”—a misused verse: Leaders are to be accountable to other leaders. I could not agree more with everything Ron had to say in this article, and in fact, it has prompted me to clarify here my own recent outcry against defamation of certain prophetic/apostolic leaders in Israel.

I do draw a distinction between the leadership meetings which have debating doctrinal issues some have with a certain group of associated ministries in Israel. That's the right forum for such debate. I do agree with what Asher Intrater said about the leadership discussion: That they could be very productive, but they also could continue on too long.

Why is that? For the same reason that I became alarmed by it all: I didn't hear that Israeli ministry leaders were discussing these issues in their meetings until I had already been exposed to much behind-the-scenes gossip that cast suspicions on certain ministry leaders. It is the gossip that spreads like wildfire and creates a scorched earth wherever the accusations spread. That is what raised my alarm - and yes, anger, over defamation as I see it.

The last half of 2017 I began to hear talk against my ministry friends in Israel by several people who are also my friends but bringing the targeted Israeli ministers under grave suspicion. There were also accusatory writings that were both veiled references to the leaders and also writings that named names. Apparently from the get-go of the leadership meetings there was a wild fire sweeping in the underbrush to cast suspicions and guilt-by-association on certain ministers. That is not right.

Some people think I should not bring this up publicly, that it is family business in Israel and I have no right to speak up. But what am I doing with weekly Israelprayer mailings if not raising up intercession over the issues of concern in the body of Messiah in Israel? I believe this is to be an issue of great concern to the whole body of the Lord.

Now even though Ron Cantor's article was addressing some out of whack things going on among ministry heads in the USA rather than this situation in Israel, I believe it applies here too. His article convicted me of how I have spoken against ministry leaders in the US in a way that is not good or helpful. As it says in James, our tongues are difficult to tame.

Yesterday, seeing more of the fires set from all the hatred, envy and animosity from Gaza, it seemed an appropriate parallel to me. It is a time to repent of allowing our tongues to be a deadly weapon against others in the ministry. It is not that we cannot question leadership, but it is another thing to cast suspicions in the underbrush that builds up a deadly fire against them. James 3:13-16

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

Arrows from Zion
Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests Israeli Ministries by subscription only write donna@israelprayer.com

Starting this week with reports from Carolyn and Richard Hyde who are being blessed as the minister in Australian by the reception they have been receiving as they bring worship and testimonies from Zion. They also write about their ongoing saga with the Israeli Interior Ministry seeking to build a case against their whole family in order to revoke citizenship. The good news is there is a development by which their attorney was able to present the recent guidelines issued by the Vice-Attorney General  which oversees MOI policies. The guidelines state that if you made aliyah more than 10 years ago, your citizenship may never be removed! Praise the Lord! Let's pray over this because it will make a powerful difference in so many cases of unjust attempts to revoke citizenship based on faith in Yeshua.

Israel Pochtar of the Ashdod Beit Hallel congregation and Voice of Judah network writes this week about several events they have put on or will soon put on like the upcoming Men's MEAT conference, encouraging their men to dive deeper into God. Also they have conducted an outreach for the hearing impaired, taking them to visit biblical places and sharing the gospel with the. It has also led to a new home group for the hearing impaired! Hallelujah!  Currently they are raising funds in order to expand their humanitarian outreach to new cities - having been asked by officials of the new cities to do so. This is a powerful witness in the land.

The Maoz weekly ministry letter of Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram is grieving over poor moral standards in Israel, "as in the days of the Judges, everyone pretty much does what is acceptable in their own eyes. Corruption has rooted itself in every way imaginable" and "sexual immorality has practically taken over—in all societies, including the ultra-Orthodox.  Last week's Pride Parade drew a quarter of a million people to Tel Aviv—including tourists from around the world.  A few years ago the mayor of the city promised to make Tel Aviv the "Gay Capital of the World," and it seems as though his efforts are succeeding."

This often surprises Christians who think the Holy Land is naturally holy, but it's not. Israelis need to be saved from their sins too. As Maoz writes, "Seventy years into Israel's rebirth our land is now sick with sin and immorality. Yet we know that the darker it gets, the brighter the light of Messiah Yeshua will shine! We are asking you to join us in prayer."  Please pray for the lost in Israel and for the witness of believers there to shine brightly to their fellow Israelis. For more of Maoz news, see the Weekly Summary, or contact Maoz directly to be put on their mailing list.

Last week Avi and Chaya Mizrachi were celebrating daughter OrElk's graduation from the Air Force - this week (from pictures I'm seeing on Facebook) Chaya is in England with OrEl enjoying the English countryside.  Pray for all the Israeli troops are tensions remain high at the Gaza border (and the northern borders too).  On the Dugit Facebook page Avi has some interesting teachings you might enjoy on Hebrew words like this one teaching on the word "amen"

I shared the link of Ron Cantor's excellent article “Touch not God’s anointed”—a misused verse  but he has some other good articles this week of great interest too: Funniest Verse in the Bible | So why am I crying?  Growing up Jewish, we were told that to be baptized in water was the ultimate act of treason against our people. To publicly go into the waters of baptism was to reject your heritage, your people and your God. And, yet...  | Why I don’t call myself “Christian” As a communicator, my goal is for my hearers/readers to understand me. When I say to a fellow Jewish person “I am a Christian,” they hear: I have converted from Judaism to a foreign religion—I am no longer a Jew. | So you’re an Apostle—big deal! Yeshua’s Challenge: Develop Character in 12 Men, so they could be Apostles

The Intercessors for Israel ministry in Jerusalem - Ofer Amitai, Eliyahu Ben-Haim and Chuck Cohen - put out prayer points each Friday for many issues facing Israel. This past Friday they issues points for Iran, relating that NKorea & Iran have been collaborating for years. Also write: "Russia appears to have been working on Iran to withdraw its forces and Hezbollah forces from close to the Golan Heights border with Israel. However, according to reports, they have moved out and then moved back dressed in Syrian regime uniforms."  Please pray that God would expose all the hidden relationships dangerous to Israel and give wisdom to Israeli leaders in dealing with them.

IFI also give prayer points to pray for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his family who are under continual attack by political enemies; for the increasing openness to hear the gospel in Israel and the growing body of believers in the Land; as well as their own recent ministry in Scotland. Pray for seeds planted to bloom and for the weary travelers to regain strength and refreshing.

From Revive Israel, this great article by Asher Intrater called Fortresses of the Mind We are engaged in “spiritual warfare.” The battlefield of that warfare is often in our own mind and feelings. | This Video Cody Archer interviews Youval and Valerie Yanay | and Video: Revive is Traveling to Africa.

This is from Tikkun Global, Tikkun being the organization that Revive Israel a part of: This report on the recent pre-Shavuot (Pentecost) Alignment Roundtable they hosted in Israel for the many "apostolic fathers with a heart for Israel from around the world" that they connect with.  "The amazing thing was that we were not even thinking of the 70th anniversary for Israel’s rebirth—or the United States Embassy move—both of which took place the day before our gathering."  There was a deep desire to connect with believers in Israel expressed by the delegates representing China, South Korea, Japan, the US, South America, Poland, South Africa and other nations. "

They write, "What was clear, is that there is a real hunger amongst leaders around the world to connect (or align) with similar like-minded movements in Israel. There is a synergy (the power released when apostolic teams work together is greater than what we can do alone) that is taking place. These fathers (and mothers!) want to align themselves with apostolic and prophetic ministries in Israel. This is not about “submission”, but rather a sense of embracing God’s order of Israel as the elder brother among the families of the nations. And for those of us in Israel, we see our role, not to govern, but to serve, support and strengthen our brothers and sisters from around the world—to release blessing from Israel. And to learn from them—as many of them have so much to impart to us. It is about mutual love, support, respect and inter-dependence."  To these things I say, Hallelujah and amen! So be it!

Here is a new word from Avner Boskey of David's Tent Shoot-out at the Samson Corral | Recent events in Gaza have focused the world media’s attention on skirmishes between Islamist Hamas-led rioters and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Sound bites and eye candy (short segments of doctored video) have been crafted by jihadi propagandists and then swallowed hook, line and sinker by international news agencies. According to this fake news, Gaza’s ‘peaceful civilians’ are ‘being massacred’ by ‘bloodthirsty IDF troops.’

Sderot is one shell shocked city being so close to Gaza it has taken shelling for years —throughout this Ramadan Hate Spree Sderot is once again fleeing when they hear the air raid sirens, with only 15 seconds to get to shelter. Hamas calls Sderot, the city of the dead, but Michael and Dina Beener went to Sderot to develop a congregation called Ir haHaiam, or City of the Living. There they are ministering the peace of the Lord to the inhabitants of Sderot and reaching out to the poorest of the poor who live in Sderot (as we heard it said once, anyone who had the money to move away did long ago when the shelling started). Please pray for this couple, for their congregation which you can learn about more by contacting them directly, or reading their updates in the Weekly Summary.

Howard and Randy Bass are on their way to Africa for 3 weeks in July and requesting prayers over their time of ministry there.  Good news out of the congregation in Beer Sheva is their 4th baptism in the last 3 months (one partly a result of the teaching at the congregation this past Friday evening), and also a fourth grandchild on the way from daughter Rotem and Joseph.  Mazal tov! Plus other news of their adult children which you can read about in the Weekly Summary or by subscribing to the ministry directly.

Please pray over the destructive fires in the south, as Howard writes,  "A realistic solution has not yet been found to thwart this new creative way of jihad."  Israel needs a Divine solution to not only stop these arson attacks but to end the environmental terrorism as a go-to terror option for their enemies.

Dov Bikas has a congregation in Beer Sheva and also an evangelistic outreach to the addicts and prostitutes/sexually abuse victims on the streets of Tel Aviv. Their rehab ministry is located in Beer Sheva, but the outreach part of the mission is on the street of Tel Aviv where these societal outcasts tend to be drawn to like a moth to the flame. There are big hearts that enter into this kind of ministry and outreach - but mind you, not suckers. It is a fine line to walk to actually get these people the help they really need. Please pray for Dov, his wife Olga who is suffering from severe chronic back issues and the ministry they do among the people most desperate in Israel.  Also, if you can help with funding, Dov is currently having to depend on taxis to get around because his car is broken down.

There is a serious need among all the ministries for those in the nations who can afford it to step up and help them with financial blessings to carry out the work of the ministry. The appeals I have been seeing come in over many weeks now are real - I don't know why giving dips in the summer but it does - and the pinch is so great some are having to make great sacrifices and cutbacks. Please be generous in giving to help the good news go forth in Zion.

From KehilaNews.com here are a couple of the articles in their lineup this week:

First "All Israel Conference" in Singapore highlights eight Israeli Messianic ministries | Kehila News Israel Staff | The first All Israel Conference was held in Singapore on May 25-26, 2018. Sensitive Information I cannot share names of several who have asked for prayers for the last several months for certain of their grandchildren who are afflicted, even tormented. The enemy not only strikes at us through our children, but also our through our grandchildren. Please pray for these Israeli grandmothers crying out to God silently for their grandchildren.

Arrows from Zion 6/13/2018

Priority Prayer Focus

The photo above was taken at the cliff's edge in Nazareth which is believed to be the cliff spoken of in Luke 4:16-30. Leon Mazin of Return to Zion in Haifa was speaking to us about this passage of scripture. After coming out of testing in the Wilderness, the people of Yeshua's hometown, His fellow loyal synagogue-goers became furious with Him and pushed Yeshua from the synagogue to the cliff edge to throw Him  to his death. Why did they become a frenzied lynch-mob after Yeshua read Isaiah 61:1, and part of verse 2? Because He applied God's Word to Himself. Think about that.

The first thing they said to each other was, "Isn't this Joseph's son?" In other words, Who does he think he is? Yeshua is just a man we have known from the time he was a child growing up in Nazareth.  Yeshua answered them, "no prophet is accepted in his hometown."  This is one of those "Truly I tell you" truths from Yeshua that still applies to the true prophets today.

The thing that made this particular stop on the 2005 tour with the Tikkun-Israel ministries so impactful to me was because God had already shown me in His Word that despite being surrounded by a furious mob intent on pushing Him to His death, Yeshua let them push Him out of the synagogue, through the town and all the way to the brow of the cliff above. But instead of being pushed off the cliff the passage ends with, "But He walked right though the crowd and went on His way." Looking over the edge of this cliff in person, you see a steep and rocky drop off that surely would have killed anyone violently pushed over the edge. Yeshua let them push Him so far, but He did not let them kill Him off.

I am writing about this incident in the start of Yeshua's ministry emergence in Israel and the reaction of all the people who were familiar with Him because I remain concerned about the uprising of some in Israeli ministries against the anointed work that God is doing through the Tikkun-related Israel ministries.  There is an element of it that pits the non-charismatic ministries against the charismatic ministries.  As one of the Israeli ministers who is completely unrelated to Tikkun told me recently: "Pray, pray, pray. A spiritual police-like spirit are persecuting other believers in Israel. Happening among each other, been going on for months but getting worse."

This remains my number one prayer priority and I urge Israelprayer subscribers to make it theirs too. But here is a word to those who are targeted by the innuendos, the accusations, the assault on reputations and the utter presumption of those judging God's servants, remember that Yeshua was pushed all the way to the cliffs edge, then He turned and walked right through the angry crowd who were all jostling and shoving each otherThat is what this will ultimately amount to also. - Donna Diorio June 12, 2018

Arrows from Zion
Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests Israeli Ministries by subscription only arrowsfromzion@ gmail.com

This week we're introducing a new ministry vision from a couple, Zvi & Yaffa Randelman, who have been active in ministry in Jerusalem for many years at King of Kings, and also a congregation built around a rehab ministry center. The new vision is summed up in a scripture ("Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.") and is spelled out an outline detailing the need for establishing an additional Messianic senior living facility in Jerusalem that is open to all the body in Israel.  The ministry name is Beit-Hesed and if you would like to know more - including receiving the full outline which is really detailed in the vision, please write to Zvi.randelman@ gmail.com (remove space after @ symbol)

Top of the list from Asher Intrater at Revive Israel is an outline of how to pray for the Trump-Kim Summit in Singapore.  By the time you get this prayer summary, the event will no doubt be over, still it is important to pray for God's will to be done in the matter of North and South Korea.  As you may know, there is a tremendous presence of God on the people in the Far East. South Korea especially has become renown for the effectual fervent prayer of the saints there. In North Korea there are believers, but we do not know much about them because of the horrible state of most North Koreans under the oppressive reign of the ruling dynasty. Yet "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turns it whichever way He wills." Let us pray for this opening in North Korea, a time for stability and for the Gospel to go forth in great power. Forget the politics of this: think salvation flowing to the people of North Korea!

Also from Revive VIDEO Cody Archer interviews Jeremiah and Tal | Learn more about how we are reaching the people of Israel with the good news of the Kingdom of God through Yeshua Chai | Enjoy this viral VIDEO A Day in Jerusalem | And a monthly update from "the City of the Great King" where Revive Israel is doing many things - including giving away 1/3 of their general income to other organizations and individuals ministering in Israel. If you are a Weekly Summary subscriber, this entire email is available to read in the email this week.

All I can say to Israel Pochtar's summary of events the Beit Hallel and Voice of Judah Ministries has put on in the month of May, is "Wow!"  Not only did they draw 500 people to an evangelistic event to hear the Gospel during Pentecost/Shavuot, but they also put on a Family Course where 70% of the married couples in attendance were non-believers. This is a course to teach people how to build a family foundation according to God's Word. Can you believe the incredible draw of unbelievers? Can you imagine how hungry those people are for answers to the basic questions in life like how to have a solid family?  They also had a Women's Conference that didn't just draw believing women, but 100 unbeliever women as well.  This is powerful what is happening - and none of it is wasted! Good seed is being planted in soil that is dry and thirsty.

The ministry that is run by Israel Pochtar is also in a building mode in Ashdod where they have gotten a lot of religious opposition but they are pressing in to fulfill God's call on them. As Pochtar writes, "This building is no small effort, and it's quite a historical moment in our city, where there are over 400 synagogues, and not a single believer-owned church building. Beit Hallel will be the very first!"  There have been reports that the religious orthodox are also using curse-prayers and witchcraft against them. Israel asks:  "Please pray with us for a breakthrough as we fight to finalize our building and preparing for our move. Pray for protection for all involved in this process, as well as for God's favor and provision as we bring this project to completion in the next few weeks."

Daniel and Shirya Yahav of the Peniel Fellowship in Tiberias have a report on their recent doings. Don't let the name "Fellowship" fool you, because this may be one of the largest congregations in Israel.  In the beginning of the update Shirya speaks of the changes they have witnessed since the early days, including having a lot more other believers in your school, or immediate day to day surroundings. Now that has changed and this is no longer true for their children and grandchildren.  They are part of why this is true, because they just kept doing the work of the ministry where they were, despite the persecution, and God added to them those who were being saved. Today their ministry encompasses a lot ground making a real community hub for believers.  If you are a Weekly Summary subscriber, you can read all about the various aspects of their ministry and how to make contact.  They are also in the process of getting a larger meeting place and now have 62% of the total cost to continue.  This has been years in the making and prayers for the resources would be greatly appreciated.

Daniel Yahav will be ministering abroad in 2018: 21-29 Jun -  Taiwan, two seminars in two locations. 18-23 July - Brazil, teaching 7 sessions at a conference. 31 July  -  Halle-Salle Germany, Vietnamese sommer Bibel frietzeit.  25-26 August - Hildesheim, Springe, Germany. 11-14 October - Memmingen Germany. 15-21 October - Finland, preaching tour with ICEJ. 12-14 Nov - Memmingen Germany. Israel Conference.

Ronit Bender in the Haifa area has just written about her son's wedding in Perth, Australia (and the speaking engagements she did in the weeks leading up to the wedding). She's a delighted mom and ready to return to the harvest fields in Israel - that all Israel might be saved.

This bowled me over: Guy Cohen who writes this week about Perseverance and Victory, says, "I have been deaf since I was two years old from meningitis (no hearing in right ear and 30%  hearing in the left ear). The doctors didn't have much hope for me. The person that stands before you today, how and where I am, is a miracle. Today I look back and understand that the deafness is actually a gift." I have talked with this young man face to face and never had an inkling! He talks about running into one of his teachers from childhood while volunteering in the Acco soup kitchen, home for the elderly and the blind center.

Guy writes, "When I saw her, fear and concern came into my heart. I realized that I was afraid of rejection. With this the meeting began and it was great. My teacher was impressed to see Gentile Believers in Israel who had come with a loving spirit. She felt their love and respect for the Jewish people. In each place that we visited they offered to pray for the people. Everyone, including my teacher welcomed their prayers and accepted their blessings, even when in the name of Yeshua.  When I spoke to my teacher I explained that there are many people around the world who love the Jewish nation and understand the importance of blessing Israel. ...Also that it is written how in the end times the Gentiles will understand the call of the Jewish people. She immediately responded, "these are the end times, to see this wave of love and to see the bible prophecies fulfilled in front of my eyes." I could see in her eyes that she was proud of her 'young student Guy'. For me it was closure because when I was a child she didn't see much of a future for me. " Another powerful example of how God is opening the hearts of the Jewish Israeli to the love in Yeshua.

Eddie Santoro's new book, Lifted UP is out on Kindle and will be available in printed form on Amazon by June 15th. To see the book, just go to "Kindle" and write in "Santoro, Lifted Up". I believe that this book will be an encouragement to all who read it as it is not just about living through and overcoming cancer but is a way to victory in any trials we are facing. I encourage you to read it. You will be blessed!

I have also written a review of Eddie's book in the Weekly Summary, and which I share on my blog Fruit of the Fig Tree. Please help spread the word about Eddie's book.

The Joseph Project is the largest importer of humanitarian aid to Israel  and is run by Jim Schutz, who just happens to be touring in the US this month in TN, NC , VA & PA talking about his "passion and prayer for the Middle East and carrying a spiritual impression of the mystery of God with Israel and the nations." Catch him if you can, email jim@josephproject.org.il for more information. In his update he shares a couple of testimonies of people helped in the Pentecost season. He writes, "The people here who need help are not necessarily on public display in the streets, but rather hiding in the background. To help them requires working together with many partners, as well as  availability and creativity.  We are grateful to be able to make a positive impact on so many lives as we work together with great partners near and far."

He also speaks about the humanitarian work they are doing on behalf of suffering Syrian civilians. "In addition to the container for Syrian refugees, we received four other containers in May, and have one more in port now about to be released. As more containers come in, so do the requests for help from Israeli organizations and ministries dealing with different elements of the population. Most recently a society representing 2,000 Gypsies in the Old City of Jerusalem has turned to us. We are both honored and challenged by all the new requests, which far outnumber our ability to respond. Nonetheless, we see doors opening for us, together with you and all our partners, to impact the nation and make a difference for the glory of God. Thank you for standing with us!" (Who knew there were Gypsies in Jerusalem?!) For the full report, see the Weekly Summary if you are a subscriber, or contact the Joseph Project.

Praying the Headlines

Summary of the American Jewish Committee Poll  | American Jews Disapprove of Jerusalem, Trump, Settlements, and the Jewishness of the State | The political divide between Israeli and American Jews has widened considerably, according to a poll published by the American Jewish Committee on Sunday. The following conclusions are according to the poll taken in April and May, and based on a representative sample of 1,000 Israeli Jews and 1,001 American Jews.

Also in Israeli News, from the June 5th issue of Jerusalem Post, a favorable article on the Messianic village of Yad HaShmona:
How a Finnish Kibbutz Became a Center for Messianic Jews | by Ania Bessonov | “The Finnish people that lived here turned their life to be with the same as the local life of the Jewish people", said Tsuriel Bar David, manager of the Yad HaShmona hotel.

Prophetic Prayer for News Events in Israel

Martin Sarvis tackles two current events areas with prayer points regarding ill prevailing winds:

Winds and Flame in Gaza | The so called “March of Return” violent protests on the border with Gaza continue.

Winds and Flame in Tel Aviv | Friday afternoon, as ten thousand Palestinians were following a spirit-wind in Gaza,  250,000 were following a different wind in Tel Aviv as the city’s 20th annual “LGBTQ  Pride” parade (its largest yet) poured through its streets.

These are available in full with a subscription to the Weekly Summary, or directly from the Sarvis ministry.

"Lifted Up" will be available on Amazon by June 15th. The Kindle edition is now available. To see the book, just go to "Kindle" and write in "Santoro, Lifted Up".
I believe that this book will be an encouragement to all who read it as it is not just about living through and overcoming cancer but is a way to victory in any trials we are facing. I encourage you to read it. You will be blessed!

Donna's Review: Reading "Lifted Up" is like reading a modern day version of the book of Job, a book I have read many times over the years.

The attack of satan against a man of God is devastating and revealed in the intimate thoughts of man living through the fiery trials. But Eddie's experience of being like a modern day Job is different. Instead of sitting in the counsel of accusing friends, Eddie's story is about sitting in the counsel of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Messiah Yeshua who is the Word of God that indwells each of us that believe.

I'm sure that not every word that was spoken to or about Eddie's battles with cancer was faith-building or encouraging, but Eddie is not communicating that story, as was the case in the book of Job. Eddie's story is more about the internal dialogue with the Almighty in the face of every discouraging, knee-weakening and withering phase of his all-out battle for life against formidable, multiple cancer attacks.

In Job's day, his friends uttered true statements from God's Word that they misapplied to Job's pitiful state of being. In Eddie's day, the Holy Spirit uttered true statements from God's Word perfectly applicable to rescue him from every fiery dart that has tried to annihilate him. The end of the story of Job is a restoration of everything Job lost by double.

All Job had to do was forgive those who spoke the wrong things about him in judgment. Eddie's battle has been purely focused on the reality of his inheritance in the Almighty through Yeshua. Whatever happens next, one thing I am sure of, Eddie's story will be a profound breakthrough for many. His testimony will be doubled with power and anointing to all who receive it.

Arrows from Zion 6/6/2018

Priority Prayer Focus

A new update from Sally Shiff of the Kfar Saba HaMaayan congregation: This is an article from today talking about the latest that the terrorists are doing down in Gaza.  Summer is when our fields are dry and the most vulnerable to fire. If you have ever visited Israel's south, you will remember that the fields are dry because of climate, yet in the springtime yield wild flowers and our supply of wheat and barley.  In fact there are a number of crops that are grown in the south.

In addition to this, we have a number of Kibbutzim (small villages) surrounding Gaza, including Zikkim where my family lives (some of you have visited them. ) Illona and her husband Shachar with their 4 kids live 1 km away from the Eretz Crossing.  This crossing is where citizens of Gaza cross into Israel to get medical help among other things. Twice, my family's house was the target of a rocket with it landing within 10 meters of their home.  Their son, when he was 8 was hit from shrapnel from one of these rockets (he is now 18). This morning, I received a picture from Illona that was close to their home...the fires are coming close to them as well.

Please pray for their protection as well as the protection of all the people down there.  Pray for wisdom for our government and military.  This will not stop short of a miracle from God.  BTW, my family has received prayer from all my friends who visit including CBN who visited them during the war in 2014.

Jerusalem Institute of Justice tweeted: Fire Damage to Israeli Agriculture Near Gaza Border Estimated at $1.4m and Rising. Burning kites sent from the Gaza Strip were to blame for the blazes, including one that destroyed some 300 dunams (about 74 acres) of woodland in a nature reserve.

PLEASE PRAY: ISRAEL NEEDS A STRATEGY FROM HEAVEN TO STOP THE FURTHER DAMAGES OF THESE GAZA TERRORIST FIRE KITES AND BALLOONS.

ALSO as I am wrapping up this issue a new report has come in that Israel has thwarted a major terror attack and an assassination attempt against PM Nethanyahu, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and a Canadian security delegation. PRAY for God to continue to protect Israel by revealing the evil planned against her.

Arrows from Zion
Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests Israeli Ministries by subscription only arrowsfromzion@ gmail.com

First we have a ministry update from Ruth Nessim, who is one of the pioneers of the faith in Israel. Ruth has many things to report but the thing I want to highlight is her request for prayers over her health: "I have been hospitalized twice for 10 days with severe Gastro-Enteritis. I have had 5 attacks in the last less than two months and ask for your prayers, as it is very difficult. These attacks leave me weak and almost unable to stand or walk for a few days, and just when I think I have recovered, off we go again." Please pray for the return of health...and for her plans to be in England for a month starting in late June.

Richard and Carolyn Hyde live in the Galilee near Tiberias and the Syrian border where a "recent buildup of Iranian Revolutionary Guard troops establishing bases in Syria has caused Israel to launch strikes because we can't allow Iranian troops to get established on the Syrian side of the Golan. Then Russia promised to send special missiles that could shoot down Israeli planes and that was the game changer. So the other night we "apparently" launched a massive strike to take out those Russian missiles.  And the strike the other night was just in time because the report was that Iran was planning to completely barrage northern Israel with missiles." Still Carolyn sings. Listen to her new song: Ashira L'Adonai - I Will Sing Unto the L-rd!

When we listen to the news, it can be too abstract for us, but when we know people living in the eye of the storm that is also a game changer. Please pray for our precious friends - truly our spiritual family - who live so close to such dangerous events taking place. The enemies of God have their eyes fixed on destroying Israel, even as God's eye is fixed on preserving Israel. That does not mean there will not be any casualties - both of the unsaved and the saved living in close proximity to the threat. Please pray for God to restrain death and damage controls.

Evan Thomas in Netanya writes, "Thank you for standing with us in prayer through these challenging times."On Tuesday we were in the north of Israel at a Reconciliation Conference when President Trump declared that the US is withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal. Minutes after, Israel destroyed an Iranian army base outside of Damascus, Syria. This in turn led to Iranian forces firing rockets into the Golan Heights. By God’s grace, they were intercepted or did not reach their targets and there were no casualties. It was a tense time as we were only 5 minutes from the border but we understood the significance of our gathering in an even clearer light."  To read more, subscribe to the Weekly Summary, or directly with this ministry.

Antony Simon of Voice in the Wilderness was preaching the gospel in Iraq in May 2017 when he was struck in a fatal car accident. His wife, Dona and his eldest son, Josh, have taken up Antony's heart to be a voice in the wilderness to the lost in Jerusalem and throughout the nations.  Last month we had new reports from Dona and from Josh Simon, the latter was recently appointed to be a deacon in the Jerusalem congregation where his father served. Josh Simon also shares how the family is continuing to carry the ministry forward.  To read more, subscribe to the Weekly Summary, or directly with this ministry

Howard and Randi Bass were also participants in a special reconciliation conference with Arab Palestinian believers and of Jewish Israeli believers last month in northern Israel.  It was at the time Trump announced that the US was pulling out of the Iran deal and so they were in the area when the clash erupted. The conference together prayed over the "conflict between us, even as believers, found ourselves in the middle of the conflict together, and could pray for the Lord to accomplish His purposes, and to show mercy to especially the believers in Syria, on the Golan, in Iran, in Gaza.  As we seek first GOD's Kingdom and HIS righteousness, we can be in more agreement in our outlook through our present circumstances. This frustration and anger is grounded for this generation in what they call the 'naqba' (catastrophe) of Israel's independence and victory in the war that the Arab nations sought unsuccessfully to destroy her at birth.  This is not much different than the Jewish people today using the Holocaust as an basis for not believing in God, and for never forgetting or forgiving the German people in particular.  God still has His controversy with Zion, and will eventually bring His people to know that He has always been righteous in His ways, and has kept His covenant promises, both for good and for evil."

Another older report from early last month from Eddie Santoro speaking about the day of the US Embassy opening in Israel: "This is more than an incredibly historic moment. President Trump is indeed fulfilling his campaign promise to move the Embassy to Jerusalem but in a much deeper way, he is standing in agreement with God’s will. It was not man but GOD who chose Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and in this move, the United States is aligning itself with God’s heart. The USA is declaring what no other nation will say- that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. It will never be the capital of another country, never an Islamic capital. And when the European Union and so many other nations on the earth align themselves with political lies rather Biblical truths, they open the door for the powers of darkness to enter." This is the truth as hard as it is for some to hear. Eddie went on to discuss "God's love vs Satan's Hatred" which is exactly what we have seen in all the terroristic activities since.  Please continue to pray for the total healing of Eddie Santoro from cancer.

David Lazarus of Beit Immanuel in Jaffa has written a greatly encouraging report on a new initiative by the Israeli government called Mekinot which prepares high school grads for their mandatory military service. Lazarus also notes that as part of the preparatory training they will teach acquainting Arabs and Jews, Judaism and democracy, integrating people from marginalized populations and people with disabilities, social initiatives by volunteering in local communities. Recently, however, the Mekinot began a new initiative: Getting to know Messianic Jews. "Messianic leaders around the country have been asked to host groups from the Mekinot program to explain to the cadets about our faith as Jews who believe in Yeshua. For me it has been an honor to spend hours with these vibrant young people talking about the Bible, faith in God and how we believe that Yeshua is the promised Messiah to Israel."

David Lazarus says, "I am a bit lost for words as the willingness of the people of this land help their children gain a deeper appreciation for Yeshua and New Testament faith comes as somewhat of a surprise. For those of us who grew up in this land and experienced the anger (and sometimes hatred and violence) towards our Messiah, it is not easy to grasp how attitudes have changed so dramatically, so quickly. But then again, Israel are God's chosen people, Yeshua is a wonderful Messiah and this is as it should be."

Orna Sperandeo of the Kfar Saba HaMaayan congregation sent a short report to us at the end of May: "Kfar Saba is a family town with a population of about 110,000.  It’s a rural city that dates back 100 years.  We notice that people are wanting to talk about God, who He is and what part does He play in their life.  Because most of our members live in Kfar Saba, it’s common to see or hear about a conversation that has transpired about Yeshua.  No longer are the people afraid to talk about Yeshua, but they want to know.  How astounding it is when they discover that Yeshua is the Messiah that they have prayed for all their life in Synagogue. Consequently, we have a weekly discipleship course for our new believers, as well as weekly homegroups in various languages to invite people to hear the Gospel and share in our community." We continue to hear more and more of a new openness to hear about Yeshua in Israel.

Sperandeo also writes, "Israel is a very tough place to live. The pressures economically as well as spiritually continues to effect many of our members . Yet, we are grateful for God’s provision that allows us to be a place of refuge for the members of our community.  From helping the survivors of the Holocaust to reaching out to our Arab brothers and sisters in hope to work together for the salvation of our entire nation, we thank God for opening these opportunities for us. We need your help and prayers All the things we want to do takes funds that we don’t have, as our budget is limited. Will you join us in praying for God to increase our monthly income to provide for all that He has called us to do.  We have a bare-minimum staff that is part-time yet works with full-time schedules.  Yet, due to this short-fall, we might have to take drastic measures and decrease our staff or our ministry.  Please join us in prayer that God would give us a financial miracle and help us"

The latest Maoz Israel Report is out featuring this great article favoring Messianic Jews by Itzhak Rabihiya, Evangelicals and Israel and the appointment of a Messianic spokesman to the Prime Minister's staff Well, God Promised, Didn't He? - both reported in the Jerusalem Post.  There is also a report on Reaching Our Goal to Expand the Tent for the Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv and a fund raising project for the 23 young Israeli believers to attend the USA's MJAA'S "Messiah" 2018

As featured earlier, Ron Cantor has a word for Tel Aviv and it is, what goes around, comes around.  The good news went out to the Gentiles first through Cornelius in Caesarea and it has traveled all the way around the world in a return: What went from Tel Aviv to Caesarea will come back!  Also, read this on the humanity of Yeshua: The Real "Last Temptation of Christ"  He Overcame the Oil Press to Purchase our Souls.  Finally, this VIDEO Is Israel Still The Promised Land in the New Testament?

If you are subscribing to the Weekly Summary, I invite you to read brief descriptions of the seven Tikkun affiliated congregations and ministries: Beit Ha Yeshuah (House of Salvation), Revive Israel, Tiferet Yeshua (The Glory of Yeshua), Ahavat Yeshua (The Love of Yeshua), Katzir Asher (Harvest of Asher), Ohalei Rachamim (Tents of Mercy), and Shavei Tzion (Return to Zion).  Or, request to be on the mailing list of Tikkun International

From the IFI, Intercessors for Israel (Ofer Amitai, Eliyahu Ben-Haim and Chuck Cohen) prayer points covering the Gaza confrontation, the health issues of Palestinian leader Abbas and the power struggle should his health fail, for continued grace as Ramadan continues to be a hornet's nest of trouble in Israel, for the confusion of reports coming out about what is actually taking place in Syria (Is Iran retreating or reinforcing?), the role of Russia - how far can Israel trust them? And continued internal (Jewish) political attacks on Netanyahu and his wife Sara. For just one of those issues addressed: "One of the issues that may contribute to the Gazan initiative is the open question of the health of Mahmoud Abbas, and how much longer he will be able to lead the Palestinians. There are indications of a power struggle going on in this regard. Lord God, You are the One who sets kings in place, and the One Who brings them down. (Daniel 2:21) Grant our Israeli leadership the wisdom to know how to prepare for this coming shift of power. Give them the best information on what is really happening behind closed doors. As there has been a lack of unity between Hamas and Fatah under Abbas, may this division continue under the new leader. (Jeremiah 20:11)"

Dr. Michael Brown @ Christ at the Checkpoint
The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, CAMERA gave Dr. Michael Brown a great write up for his challenge to the Christians attending the Christ at the Checkpoint conference last week:  "In sum, Michael Brown did Christians throughout the world a great service by highlighting the inability of Palestinian Christians to speak truth to power in Palestinian society. Hopefully, conference organizers will take Brown's message to heart in the days ahead."

Here is what Dr. Michael Brown had to say about the conference:
