WEEKLY Arrows from Zion 9/7/2016

Priority Prayer Focus Sep 7, 2016

Sounds like our battle plan to me - Nehemiah 4:15-18

When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work.  From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.

Arrows from Zion
Ron Cantor,  back from a lengthy time of speaking in the US, returned to the Tiferet Yeshua congregation delighted to be asking himself, "Who are all these new faces?" If you recall, Cantor recently passed the pastoral-baton to native Israeli, Gil and so the obvious sign of growth in the congregation while he was gone was a welcome indication all was going well.

Ron also has good news about the new daily devotional he has begun shooting for GOD-TV and also about becoming the Associate Director of Tikkun International Network assisting Asher Intrater, Dan Juster and Eitan Shishkoff as Tikkun "serves, supports and oversees almost forty different Messianic congregations and ministries in the US, Israel and in other countries. I am excited about mentoring younger leaders both here in Israel and the U.S. and working with Asher to provide oversight and counsel to the congregations that are connected to us."  You can read the story inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary but I can tell you these are long term relationships now forming a dynamic apostolic team headquartered in Jerusalem.

The Kerem-El Congregation (God's Vineyard) in Carmel took the month of August to focus the congregation on the idea of showing hospitality - beginning with one another. After many expressions of get-togethers ranging from one-on-one coffees together to full congregational cook outs, they are sensing the idea took hold toward a more united congregation.  You can read about several of the good events they shared together inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary. Also read about a new teaching series begun on deepening the foundations of our faith and four specific prayer requests from the congregation.

Israel Pochtar gives us a report on the 2-youth conference they hosted called AWAKE.  He writes, "We saw how touched and inspired many young people left, and it only encouraged us that investing in young people is always a wise choice. Their hearts are open and hungry, and sowing into their lives will always bring a powerful harvest!"  He also gives a report on their most recent evangelism tour to the Galilee - which was not without its great overcoming moments, but with all 200 people on the tour standing to pray when the altar call was given!  You will want to read Israel's report inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary Plus get the congregations four specific prayer requests concerning their ministry.

A few hours ago I wrote on my Facebook page:  " I am sitting at my computer crying right now - a real flow of tears. I just got through reading something from Eric Benson's House of Victory, which is a drug & alcohol rehab in connection with the Carmel congregation founded by David-Karen Davis.

Eric Benson opened his ministry letter with this recall that really brought me to tears:  "A few years ago I stood in an alleyway of Tel Aviv with members of our outreach team. We were ministering to the addicts living on the streets. The heartbreaking scenes around us were overwhelming. We needed to guard our hearts from discouragement, unless we fall into the same trap of hopelessness as all those around us. As I tried to build myself up in the faith, and continue to declare the hope found in Messiah, my attention was drawn to the sky above. I heard the roaring sound of a massive jumbo jet. As I stared at the plane, a sad realization filled my thoughts. The hundreds of tourists on that plane will never see the reality of this dark corner of the Holy Land. As a result they will never know how to accurately pray for the desperate needs of the lost sheep of the House of Israel."

".... Continue to pray for the family of Beit Nitzachon (The House of Victory) is filled with Jews, Arabs, Russians and Armenians. .... As we continue in this labor of love, we will witness the glory of the Lord filling this land.  Please read more inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

KehilaNewsIsrael continues to grow in an amazing increase of viewers from around the world - maybe because they are putting out such an outstanding and valuable product!  Not only is it providing an excellent resource for a wide variety of news , information and teaching from the Israeli Messianic Jewish community, but it is also providing work for many Israeli believer-writers. This prayer summary whole hearted calls on our subscribers to support the work of KehilaNewsIrsael, a wonderful resource.

Some of the items we picked up from the last to issues are Walking From Sea to Sea: Building the Spiritual Stamina of Israeli Messianic Youth about a 70-youth 4-day march from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sea of Galilee; "Multitudes" - Messianic Art Displayed in a Tel Aviv Gallery an art exhibit of paintings based on the Gospel by Messianic artist Steffi Geiser Rubin; and a VIDEO | Israeli Media Reporting on "New Spirit", a Film Telling Jacob Damkani's Story This is the first movie produced by Jews from Israel to tell the true story of a Messianic Jewish leader in Israel, Jacob Damkani.  There is also an important story featured below in Praying the Headlines.

From Asher Intrater's personal ministry, Revive Israel, Joint Destiny of Arab Christians and Messianic Jews (Part 2) and a teaching video on separating from ungodly influences in preparation of the end times Sealed by the Spirit.  There is also a video teaching by Ariel Blumenthal How to Pray for Israel and an invite to enjoy the resources Revive shares on their  Revive Israel Facebook

Tikkun International, which is the network of 40-something congregations and ministries in Israel and beyond under Asher Intrater, Eitan Shishkoff and Dan Juster, puts out a monthly newsletter of articles primarily by their leaders in Israel. Among those featured this month are Dan Juster asking, Have We Lost Something in Our Worship?  And Asher Intrater on the Precedent for Apostolic Teams. Eitan Shishkoff writes about relationship in Closer than a Brother. Eitan's right hand Leora Mazurovsky writes on the True Love of the congregational teenagers and from the Return to Zion congregation of Leon Mazin in Haifa is a report on their Eagle Project 2016 to serve young adults in Messianic congregations throughout Israel who have completed their service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Finally, Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem reports on an effort from millennial-generation type thinkers to establish a "holy" arts & faith festival  being called "Amen-A House of Prayer for All Believers." Clearly a counterfeit of the multiplication of 24/7 prayer houses that have blossomed in Israel and spread to surrounding Muslim nations, this counterfeit version is as misguided as the Coexist movement founded in London and based in Washington, DC "focused on improving religious relationships between people of Islamic, Jewish, and Christian faiths."  Where the Coexist Foundation springs from a primarily political focus, the "Mekudeshet 2016" springs from an arts perspective.  Both represent the usual 'Tower of Babel' approach to reaching Heaven ...without true belief in God.

As Sarvis notes, "In Isaiah 56:7, referring to the near-by Temple Mount, the LORD said, "My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples." - a promise reiterated with zeal by Yeshua in Mark 11:17. But it was not to be a house of prayer for all believers - in whatever they wished to believe. It was this same Yeshua who said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me" (John 14:6).  Pray that Israelis will not be led astray by Mekudeshet into a false "holiness"-into religious confusion - into a false "good news" which compromises the Truth.

Martin also gives a report "regarding the networking and strengthening of ties which is beginning to advance between Israel and nations on the continent of Africa phrase during his visit to Kenya in July. Of course, the enemy is against any strategic networking, physical or spiritual, between Israel and the countries of Africa-not least, we believe, because of the blessing God has promised will flow between countries which make such connections."  Read more about this and the connection to the explosion last week at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida that was about to launch an Israeli satellite inside the attached DOCX Weekly Summary

Urgent HEALING Needs: Life and Death is in the power of the tongue
Please be praying for these leaders as well as all the intense health issues that are against other Messianic leaders listed below.  We recognize that this attack is a spiritual attack to 'strike the shepherds, so the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' Pray for mighty miracles of God's healing hand to be on these leaders as a witness of signs and wonders to the Israeli congregations, and the yet unsaved watchers in Israel.

PLEASE Pray for ANOTHER MIRACLE
Speak death to every cancer cell which has been attacking God's servants even multiple times in order to cut off the gospel from their mouths! God is greater than even cancer arising twice!  We have received a new update from Jacob Damkani please read update Weekly Summary from last week.(The new surgery advised was even more dangerous than the one a year ago & they have decided to trust God for healing and forego the surgery);  Also an new update from David Davis please read in the main Weekly Summary last week;  Shelly M, Israeli pastor Eitan's wife whom doctors have sent home to die as cancer has returned to a new place in her body;  Eddie Santoro - a new form of cancer unrelated to the brain cancer; "Gila" in the Negev will have surgery involving amputation of one of her limbs. Teaching Articles

This morning I opened up my Facebook page and one of the first things that greeted me was this wonderful short video of Jacob Damkani, who while taking an IV that takes an hour and half to feed into his body, decided to record an encouraging word to us all about a lesson he has learned in the past year of health crisis. It was a delight to hear this Israeli evangelist, who has probably been beaten up for sharing the Gospel to many times to even count, talk about how we must add waiting on the Lord, to our taking courage in Him. Loved hearing Jacob's heavily Israeli-accented English bringing this exhortation.

Praying the Headlines

From 8/31/16 Kehila News
"On July 5, the counter-terrorism consulting firm SITE Intelligence Group issued an alert that a pro-ISIS hacker group calling itself the United Cyber Caliphate had published a list of targets in the USA, with calls to independent jihadists to “kill them all”.  According to SITE, some 1700 individuals were named, including members of various “churches and messianic synagogues”, indicating that congregations were also named. But the Messianic angle of the story never got out. In media coverage, the adjective identifying our community was uniformly deleted.

". . . .The US Jewish community’s security arm, the Secure Community Network, later informed the Jewish Telegraph Agency (JTA) that the list had been compiled by jihadists “from synagogue websites and other sources”, with no comment on its impact or significance. The SCN did not provide an update of their own, nor did they post any warning from the DHS, reinforcing the impression that the wider Jewish community lost interest after discovering that only Messianic Jews were at risk."
