But You, Adonai, sit enthroned forever. Your renown is from generation to generation. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her, for the appointed time has come, for her stones are dear to Your servants, and they cherish her dust.Psalm 103:13-15
Happy 70th birthday, Israel.

Happy 70th birthday, Israel.
Truly Zion's stones are dear to us - the
Living Stones! And we do cherish Israel's dust, for all mankind is but
dust, "For you are dust, And to dust you shall return" but
those whose spirits enter eternity with God through Yeshua. We do cherish all
the dust of Israel - all the humanity which we are standing in faith for with
the Living Stones of Israel so that "all Israel shall be saved".

We begin this week with an update on Jerusalem
Pastor Eddie Santoro who recently underwent a 2nd brain surgery in 32 months.
As he writes, "in the natural, my condition is very grave." But Eddie
has chosen all along to take a stand on the promises of the Lord and to believe
God for a miracle - that is part of our inheritance in the Messiah and we
certainly stand with him. Already Eddie has exceeded the statistics surrounding
his first brain surgery according to his surgeons. It was a brutal regimen of chemo and
radiation following the first round of brain surgery, then a separate case of
throat cancer, and going forward is a daunting prospect. That is probably why
God has spoken to Eddie that this time, he is to rest, the battling belongs to
Eddie's brothers and sisters in faith to hold up his arms so he might prevail
against this cancer and live to tell multitudes in Israel of God's power to
save them too.
When Eddie was reporting in his ministry
letters over the past almost 3 years about his battle with cancer, he did not
dwell on the extreme challenges of what he was going through. For those of us
who have never seen the battle against cancer up close, it almost seemed like
he was easily handling it. The truth is, the battle was intense, as it was not
just a physical battle he was going through, it was also a battle over the core
beliefs of Eddie's faith and understanding of eternity, and God's purposes for
him. I am writing this to encourage us
all to step up to the plate so that this go round, Eddie can truly rest in the
LORD and in our prayers on his behalf.
There are times when the battle has been so
pitched that we do not have the strength. As Aaron and Hur held up Moses' arms
so the children of Israel could prevail in the battle, this is the same type of
instance. Can the believers in the nations hold up the arms of a Messianic
pastor to prevail in his battle for healing, so that he can prevail and his
testimony resound throughout the land? Are we in that place of intercession yet
— and of faith that healing is the children's bread?
Pastor Howard Bass in Beer Sheva writes about the "wars and rumors of war" that surround Israel and even in Beer Sheva. It is unsettling, but Howard writes, "we who know the Lord can have a peace and calm that surpass understanding in the certainty that these things must be: Jesus has told us so. We want to build up our hope and trust in Him who loves us, so that we might be of some help and encouragement to others.... With significant dates and events abounding, so are people celebrating on the one hand, and the enemy attacking on the other." Please read Howards article, The state of the State of Israel: The Gospel and the Body of Messiah Also, find more news from the Beer Sheva congregation and the Bass family inside the Weekly Summary attachment
Ron Cantor of Messiah's Mandate and Tiferet
Yeshua has two articles you are going to want to read online: You are not God’s Temple! and Woman gets healed at the "Gospel" mall
near Jerusalem
Rachel Rechewsky Scapa, of the Kfar Saba
HaMaayan congregation, has an online 24/7 radio station called Good News from
Israel. She broadcasts in Hebrew, English and Portuguese with a variety of
worship music, message and news reports. Recently she has partnered with GCN,
the Global Christian Network. Rachel's ministry, like so many in Israel, is a
labor of love she has done for many years with no support organization
backing. Please listen to her Radio Hadashot mi Israel
Christians generally support very specific
types of evangelistic missions and outreach and often fail to see the value of
supporting the non-traditional ministry approaches that are so essential in
Israel. Israel is the most online connected nation in the world - and online is
also the most comfortable place for a Jew to investigate the great taboo of Jesus. Would that everyone knew the truth of this!
It could turn around what SO MANY Israeli ministries could do to increase their
reach.
Asher Intrater of Revive Israel writes about
the significance of the number 70 in this 70th year of the modern state of
Israel. He also has two written articles, Seven Attributes of Holiness and Why We
Believe in Yeshua, plus one video with Ron Cantor and Asher
discussing Crisis in the Middle East
Israel Pochtar has sent out a new quarterly
report that he has launched for the extended ministries he oversees. You can read excerpts from his report inside
the subscription-only, attached Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli
Ministries. There are in-depth reports from the Jewish-Arab Reconciliation
Conference he attends annually - this will really encourage you. Also reports
from all of the congregations networked under his Voice of Judah ministries,
plus the many outreaches they have done in the first quarter. Pochtar is obviously running this race with
all his might - and it is good for us that he is not too 'out of breath' to
keep us all informed about what is going on!
I give Israel a solid 5-star rating for his dedication in ministry and
in communicating that ministry to all of us.
Orna Grinman of Ot Oo’Mofet, A Sign & An Example, has two
new blog articles: Each One Has a Name about those who
perished in the Holocaust, and He Found Her in the Field - the prophetic
passage of God finding Israel and caring for her.
Rachel and Gilad Netanel have a most unusual home that is built in a
cave in Ein Karim outside of Jerusalem. It is a historic place that many tour
groups are brought to see - tour groups mostly of traditional Jews. Rachel has
an evangelist gift, and she and her husband are obviously blessed with a gift
of hospitality to host the many large groups of people who come into their home
for meals and sharing about Yeshua. As always, I will refer you to read their
prayer letter inside the subscription-only, attached Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests from Israeli Ministries. One to
protect what is going on specifically, and two because it is something you must
read yourself to appreciate fully.
As promised from last week, I have a carryover
from the ministry letter of Lebanese pastors Najeeb and Elizabeth Atteih in
Haifa. They share with us the launch of a new ministry by a couple in their
congregation, Essam and Widad Hilu, Beit Lahmo.
"Beit Lahmo is a phrase from the Aramaic language meaning
house of bread. . . . They really have a heart for the needy and have a vision
from the Lord to help provide for the needs of poor, broken, or neglected
families. Already they have shared their vision and built a network through
social media, such as Facebook." Please read more inside the Weekly Summary attachment
Joel and Teresa Jelski continue their training
for discipleship ministry in northern Israel at the Gateways Beyond ministry on
the island of Cyprus. They are preparing for a 3-week ministry trip in Ethiopia
that is part of the training many young Israelis, and in fact, many young
people from the nations, have received at Gateways Beyond. Please read about
their experience inside the Weekly
Summary attachment and consider helping them raise their funds necessary to
go on the Ethiopia outreach.
Martin Sarvis in Jerusalem writes about the
significance of the number 70 in scripture and in relation to the 70th
Anniversary of the declaration of the State of Israel — the celebration which
commences at sundown tonight in Israel. Read all of Martin's hallmark insights
on this inside the Weekly Summary
attachment. Also please read his appeal for strong intercession for pastor
Andrew Bruson who is being held prisoner in Turkey - really as nothing more
than Erdogan's blackmail of the U.S. to turn over his rival Muslim preacher
Fethullah Gulen. Pastor Brunson has done nothing illegal but is a political
pawn of the dictator in Turkey. Please read and prayer.
Finally, from KehilaNews.com this week,
here are just a few of the many articles of interest:
What is God doing in Israel? Beer Sheva pastor
Howard Bass writes about this very theme in,
Israel remembers its fallen soldiers and terrorism
victims on Memorial Day. In a nation small enough
that almost every family has been touched by losses, this is not just a day for
picnic get-togethers.
Israel's Memorial Day: Like everything else, mourning and loss touch Messianic believers in the
Land as well. We also remember today our
sons, daughters, husbands, wives and friends.
One for Israel wants you to know 70 GREAT THINGS ABOUT ISRAEL!
In Loving Israel for the Wrong Reasons, Aaron Hecht writes, "many Western Christians
support Israel because they think of Israel as a bastion against things that
they’re profoundly afraid of and which, all too often, they hate....this
shouldn’t be what motivates a Christian to support Israel"
